Married for about 4 years, but the divorce has been going on for about 13 months of that. One child, 2 1/2 years old. No major issues with the relationship, in my opinion, but we argued regularly about money, specifically we argued because she insisted that we should buy a bigger house and I insisted that our house is fine for the time being and we weren’t in a financial position to upgrade, but we would save money and plan on moving in the next few years. I was shocked when she told me she was divorcing me.

The divorce has been awful. I don’t even want to think about what it will take to pay off the debt and get back to some form of financial stability. She has not been kind during this process.

We’re, potentially, on the cusp of settling the divorce in April. Now she wants to stop the divorce. I have told her that I want to finalize the divorce, but it’s killing me to think that I’m pulling the plug when I never wanted this divorce. Ultimately, I don’t believe that she wants to be married to me, I believe that she’s finally realized that she’ll be far worse off than if she’d stuck with it.

I’m just feeling a lot of stress and anxiety about it. There’s a part of me that wishes that we could just call it all off and get back to being a family, but I don’t believe it would work out, and I’m not willing to put my daughter through this sometime down the road.
