I feel like there's backlash to the old-fashioned idea that 35+ is "too old" to have kids. However, this backlash had given birth to the equally toxic idea that there's nothing wrong whatsoever when you have kids when older.

I've seen some wild takes on social media, like that 45 yo woman can have kids with no issues. (Reality: there's a huge chance of a miscarriage at that age) Many people nowadays will encourage you to have kids at like 35+ because you're supposedly "more mature". I've seen 40 yo women who want kids and think they have all the time in the world..

Here are some drawbacks to having kids old:

1) You will literally not be around for most of the kid's life because you will be dead or have health issues.

2) You will likely not be an active grandparent.

3) Kids legit feel embarrassed when their parents look too old.

4) Higher chances of autism and schizophrenia. I don't care about how romanticized autism is nowadays, that shit just sucks and can cause severe, incurable disabilities.

5) You won't be able to relate to your kids because of the huge generational disparity.

And here are some.of the supposed positives to having kids old:

1) More maturity. (Debatable, there's no significant difference in maturity between a 30 yo and a 40 yo. This argument only really works of you're comparing yourself to literal teen parents. Also, in many cases it is having kids that makes people mature. If you're in your 40s and don't have kids and just play video games all day, you're not more mature than the average 22 yo.)

2) More money. ( Debatable. Many people never really "make it".)

3) .... That's it. There's nothing positive.
