I grew up as a slightly overweight teenage girl ( I never weighed more than 140, but that's considered overweight in Europe) and had to wear braces. I lost my excessive weight and had braces removed just before I turned 18. Growing up both average and beautiful really opened my eyes to the true nature of men.

Men are visibly uncomfortable in the presence of average women. Not Hollywood average, but average average - women with a combo of masculine and feminine traits and/or 10-15 pounds extra.

Sometimes they're not just uncomfortable, but downright aggressive. I've had a guy hitting on me, whom I politely turned down. His personality changed 180 degrees. He started insulting me and yelling at me. It became obvious to me men really can and frequently do hate women they want to sleep with out of desperation. So I liked it more when guys were just cold/annoyed around me and trying to run away.

Average women are regularly insulted to the point that men gave every single female flaw an extremely derogatory name - "horseface", "manjaw", "pancake tits"... I was regularly insulted almost exclusively by men - women just didn't care. If anything, women would try to help me with their advice on how to lose weight.

I've never seen men being consistent in anything as they are in cruelty towards anyone that doesn't fit - their hate for moderately attractive and old women, their hate for men they deem feminine or weird, hate for gay guys holding hands, hate for people who dare live their lives not adhering to rigid standards of masculinity/femininity.

This exactly is why they simultaneously are irritated by average women, but happily bang them until a Stacy comes along.
