okay so lets do a video analysis.

we show a short clip of a Korean teenager's social media post.
a grown man giving a presentation on what looks like a poster that was made by an elementary school dropout regarding a hierarchy that was pulled out of his ass.

His whole basic premise is that women need "structure, rules, resources, approval, attention and validation" and to get those things, they must be, "obedient, loyal, and respecful" to men who provide those things.

This is stupid, and here is why. There is no reason that women cannot provide "structure, rules, resources, approval, attention, and validation" for themselves, or for each other.

There is no natural law that says men must be "builders" and women must be "nurturers". I've met men who are nurturers, and I've met women who are builders and the universe didn't collapse in on itself in an explosion of paracausal energy.

Then for proof he cites the Bible. Which, I guess, fair play. But you all here know my own proclivity for Lucifer, the patron of the fallen, lost, broken, and abandoned.

He tries to define "rebellion" as "I want the benefits but I don't want to follow the rules." But his definition is flawed and honestly childish. Rebellion is more aptly defined as tearing down the entire system with the idea of rebuilding a better and more just one. Its not a desire "not to follow the rules" but rather, its a recognition that we have a bad rules system and the rules themselves need to be rewritten. There is nothing "sacred" about the status quo, and unjust rules should be rewritten, whether they are the laws of man, or the laws of god himself on his throne of lies in the unjust kingdom of heaven.

I went into watching this video expecting almost nothing of value, and yet somehow, this video still managed to be disappointing. I guess the lesson learned here is expecting something even remotely resembling cogency from a youtuber named "hoe math" was foolish of me.

I dunno guys, anti-feminism isn't very persuasive... it seems like it is just a bunch of grown men trying to "debate" teenage girls.

Unless you also believe that gorrilas as "better builders" than "men" and thus men ought to be subservient, obedient, and loyal to gorillas. That is ridiculous (and the plot to Planet of the Apes).

If mind transfer was feasible, having it moved from human to gorilla body would make almost anyone a better builder. And the opposite is also true; no matter how awesome a certain person is as a builder, if you transfer their mind into pygmy marmoset, their usability on a construction site will fall roughly to zero.

I, too, believed that mind and body are two different and separate things capable of operating independently. And then I learned that my college's best professors are also strongest tennis players.

Moreover, if "physical strength" alone is what mattered, you would also reach foolish conclusions like placing someone like Stephen Hawking at the bottom of any hierarchy.

If there is a hierarchy between "builders" and "nurturers", then "builders" are at the bottom of it. "Builders" keep "nurturers" warm, fed, supplied with clear water, free of their own waste, and to some extent entertained. "Nurturers"... are praised just for not torturing, drugging, and killing their sons too often.

Your citation does nothing to "prove" a natural right of man to rule over women. Because such natural right does not exist.

Yes, I never set such a goal. If I expect a dependent freeloader to follow my rules for as long as they stay on my ground, it doesn't mean I want to "rule over" them (and who in their sane mind would want to rule over women anyway; even in times of American slavery they were significantly cheaper). They have a choice to leave. I apply this expectation to anyone, regardless of gender or species.

There were men and women involved in that experiment, and they both reacted overwhelmingly the same.

The relative absence of gender differences in responses to facial disfigurement in self and others is discussed.

So men aren't any more rational than women in this regard, making a comparison to feminism pretty weak.

Moreover, if we look at the methodology of the experiment, I think it is fair to assume that they were told that the focus of the experiment would be to measure others' perceptions of their scar in the interview. This means that the participants were likely more on guard and hyper-alert to any perceived slight, and thus would be more likely to read into statements or take things that were said out of context. I'm not sure how you would run this experiment without poisoning your sample.

I've worked with a lot of employment lawyers over the years, and by and large most people who experience discrimination react primarily with shock that it is happening or has happened. They aren't looking for it and they aren't thinking about it, rather it hits them in the face, and they are trying to figure out what happened after the fact.

I just want to say I am a rabid anti-capitalist. In America, the lower-middle class is suffering a great humiliation of being gutted. The Economic precarity we feel is an insult to the generations that helped build us up to the point where we should be prosperous. But greed and evil by our ruling class is making sure that wealth is never again shared with the rabble.

So that's where we stand, and that's the war that has to take place. Wages, treatement, legal protection are all oppressive on an inter-class level. The upper classes trying to pull up the ladder on everyone below. They go outside the law or harness gray areas to do so. Rampant nepotism is one obvious example.

But on an intra-class level, you can't point to specific laws that are holding women back vs. men. All you can do is assume there is an unseen force, bias, or momentum that makes women earn less, and then pass a law that says hey wherever we see that, let's just place a correction on top and brute force an equal outcome.

Regarding the ERA, there are many laws that came and went in the 20th century. The Civil Rights Act absolutely does everything you need to have equality under the law. I'd be curious if you could point to something it's lacking.

By this logic, men should also not complain about their loneliness, either.

I mostly agree with you there. I think all men should be maxing on all levels. I do also recognize that cultural changes post sexual revolution have upset the balance of the sexes. Currently women have outsized power in the dating market. That's interesting to me. I don't think it's sustainable. I think some unexpected results are going to come. But I don't know what direction it will go.

I already replied this to another comment but dropping this here: I’m a libertarian feminist, fiscally conservative and socially liberal. I’m primarily focused on feminism as a social movement and I don’t believe in government intervention or affirmative action.

So from my experiences as an autistic women, I’ve noticed heavy amounts of internalized misogyny especially towards women who don’t fit in. The way I’m a feminist is I promote positivity among women and discourage gossip.

To me, feminism is the wonderful charity that allows for free pads and tampons without having to tax people. To me, feminism is instead of attacking working women or attacking traditional housewives, being positive to both. To me, feminism is spreading awareness of public sexual harassment (I’ve been through it many times!) does it make me “oppressed”. Naw. It’s just a very gender specific issue that I like to see progress made on. Just like how we’re becoming more focused on male mental health.

Sounds like feminist propaganda. The problem is that feminism, being an institution, has a monopoly on gendered issues. It's a giant international propaganda machine, with the objective of gendering ever possible issue. Inflating the importance of every gender discrepancy. And it operates completely unchecked because there is no equivalent thing for males, and not enough interest among males in general to get it started.

To give you an example, just the other day on the news I saw a story about rising alcohol deaths, and women had their very own segment (men did not), the gist of which was:

Between 2018 and 2020, alcohol-related deaths rose 12.5% among men, but jumped nearly 15% among women.

Wow, it "rose" only 12.5% for men, but JUMPED NEARLY 15% for women. Never mind the fact that that 12.5% was more men than that 15% was women. Never mind that men are still 3X more likely to die from alcohol than women. No, the problem is that women are "catching up." Yeah, if things keep going in this direction with an additional 2.5% increase in deaths for women every 2 years, they might "catch up" to men in 100 years. It's basically guaranteed.

There's no impetus to be objective. It's always "Hey, maybe this is because I'm a woman?" and then a search for things that confirm that hypothesis, never an attempt to falsify.

I replied this to a few other comments. For perspective, I’m fiscally conservative, socially feminist, and libertarian. Here’s what feminism means to me:

More social awareness movements regarding sexual harassment and street harassment/stalking as it hasn’t magically gone away
less bullying and fat shaming and more health education, as believe it or not tweeting at someone that they’re a fat ugly cow doesn’t actually help them lose weight. (Multiple studies show bullying actually makes binge eating worse)
More help for tired mothers as motherhood is exhausting, especially with children with behavior issues/disabilities. It’d be cool to see volunteer programs for this, esp for people who are infertile but want to nurture.
A more positive female culture with less gossip/internalized misogyny. Woman on woman misogyny is just as big of an issue.
instead of through taxes, free pads and tampons through charity for low income women
better pay for low-paying female jobs (nurses/childcare workers/maids) through unions and social movements

Men have all reproductive rights. No one forces them to get vasectomy. But women are forced to have babies. They can’t have rights over their own body.

As for “male-only military,” that is a result of men, not women. Men only enforces men only military because women didn’t have a place in battle field unless they were nurses. Men enforces those stereotypical roles, not women. You don’t understand but feminism combats patriarchy. These stereotypes that men can’t cry, they can’t be taken seriously, they don’t get hurt all made by men to show how masculine men are. I absolutely agree that men aren’t taken seriously in legal stuff, I mean men can’t even cry without being looked down from others and it’s absolutely horrible. But this is all result of patriarchy and its teaching that men can’t and shouldn’t feel men. These teachings are passed down to all genders. Patriarchy hurts everyone.

The truth is that both sexes have to go through many things. But people don’t understand feminism. Feminism is about choice, choice for all genders. It advocates for equity between men and women. It advocates for mental health for men and women. Of course there are extremists. There are extremists everywhere, toxic men and toxic feminists, but that doesn’t mean that feminism is bad. Everyone needs feminism because at its core, feminism says that everyone regardless their gender should be treated well.

It's mainly about choice for women and even that is debatable considering a woman on this sub told me that she didn't hang out with feminists anymore because they thought her merely liking cooking was actually her being indoctrinated by the male gaze.

It doesn't, it infiltrates organisations such as the APA to turn science based mental health care into pseudoscientific based mental health care with the goal of converting as many men as possible into feminist ideology. Truly disgusting.

It advocates for mental health for men and women. Of course there are extremists. There are extremists everywhere, toxic men and toxic feminists, but that doesn’t mean that feminism is bad. Everyone needs feminism because at its core, feminism says that everyone regardless their gender should be treated well.

The toxic feminists are the ones leading the movement, and the followers silently comply. This makes feminism bad.

In the West, no woman is forced to have a baby. A woman can get an abortion against the father's will and she can keep the baby against his will. She can legally abandon the baby or give it up for adoption with zero legal consequences. He cannot walk away without her consent. Doesn't matter if it was an accident or she lied about birth control, that's just too bad for him. She can refuse to name the father or deliberately name the wrong father and the law will protect her. A woman can rape an underage boy and he will be forced to pay child support. It's happened.

For the last century at least women have been the majority of voters in pretty much every country. If women wanted women to be drafted, then it would happen. When there was a proposal to add women to Selective Service a few years ago, feminists campaigned against it and it was dropped. In Switzerland women actually voted to keep the male-only draft.

Women, not the patriarchy, enforce these stereotypes. There have been various threads on PPD or r/askmen asking what happened when you opened up to your wife/gf? and the answers are invariably: she lost respect for me, she used it against me, she left me.

Which feminism says this? Because the only one I've seen is the one that gets #KillAllMen trending on Twitter. The one for whom the SCUM Manifesto is a set text. The one whose heroines advocate genocide and mutilation of men. The one that opposes equal custody rights, opposes alimony reform, systematically erases male rape victims and harasses male DV and suicide centers. The one that has destroyed any and every male-only space whilst protecting female-only spaces. The one that wants the standard of proof in rape cases to be she said he did it. The one that complains about FGM and then circumcises their sons. The one that wants abortion on demand for women but will tell a man who doesn't want to be a father he should have kept his pants on. Men and boys need feminism as much as they need a lobotomy.

It’s actually quite ignorant since it still an issue. There are still women who get trafficked more, it’s still women who are getting domestically abused more, still women who are getting harassed more, it’s still women who are getting less wages. Educate yourself. Look at countries like India, Pakistan and Arab countries in general where crime against women are so high. It’s not that you don’t understand some but rather you don’t want to understand women because you think that everything is fine. When it’s not.

In every other matter, any person can decide at any time that someone else cannot actively use their body regardless of how that person first gained access to their body. Women used to have that right enshrined as healthcare privacy, and now in America it's been decided that women's right to that depends on the feelings of whatever state legislator she happens to have at the time, to the point that she needs to leave (and therefore not be able to vote in that state anymore to fix the problem) in order to protect herself. The options are literally "give up your right to yourself to try to give that right back to others, or protect yourself and abandon others who aren't able to flee".

To me it’s simple: - If both want the kid, both take care of it. - If the man wants to keep the child, he should be able to and women should pay child support. - if the women wants to keep the child and the man does not, he pays for child support.

So when are feminists going to turn their gaze at many modern women who uphold the patriarchy through the overt and covert reinforcing of male gender roles in relationships and masculine expectations or does this clash with feminism's goal of female agency? When should feminists discard the female agency excuse when it comes to criticising women who enable parts of the patriarchy or atleast give men less reasons to be receptive to feminist ideas when men are trapped in a double bind when it comes to their roles that women and society contribute?

Feminism has seen decreases in support from young men for a reason but aren't interested in addressing the issues causing the drop in support. Or has pop feminism given up on the idea of destroying male gender roles, and parts the patriarchy that is hurting men and has shifted to being an exclusively female identitarian movement built on expanding women's agency and power, even at the expense of old feminists goals of disassembling gender roles and patriarchal expectations as women arent interested in wholly doing away with restrictive male gender roles and expectations because it benefits them.

The gender pay gap is largely due to the differences in the type of work men and women do and how much. It’s also more of a motherhood pay gap than anything. And I’m of the opinion that politicians knowingly trot the myth out anyway for easy points.

That said, I’ve recently become open to the idea that the value of a job decreases as it’s considered woman’s work:

another study shows, when women enter fields in greater numbers, pay declines — for the very same jobs that more men were doing before.

Consider the discrepancies in jobs requiring similar education and responsibility, or similar skills, but divided by gender. The median earnings of information technology managers (mostly men) are 27 percent higher than human resources managers (mostly women), according to Bureau of Labor Statistics data. At the other end of the wage spectrum, janitors (usually men) earn 22 percent more than maids and housecleaners (usually women).

when women moved into occupations in large numbers, those jobs began paying less even after controlling for education, work experience, skills, race and geography.

A striking example is to be found in the field of recreation — working in parks or leading camps — which went from predominantly male to female from 1950 to 2000. Median hourly wages in this field declined 57 percentage points, accounting for the change in the value of the dollar, according to a complex formula used by Professor Levanon. The job of ticket agent also went from mainly male to female during this period, and wages dropped 43 percentage points.

The same thing happened when women in large numbers became designers (wages fell 34 percentage points), housekeepers (wages fell 21 percentage points) and biologists (wages fell 18 percentage points). The reverse was true when a job attracted more men. Computer programming, for instance, used to be a relatively menial role done by women. But when male programmers began to outnumber female ones, the job began paying more and gained prestige.

This is going to sound like a conspiracy theory, but hear me out.

I believe women are most afraid of men than they've ever previously been because of 3 main reasons:

Social media: We now see the worst of the worst stories. We hear them so often that it makes them appear like they occurred more often and closer to us than they really are.
True-crime shows/movies: Ok, this one is the weird one. But seriously, do you not realize how weird it is that they fantasize about crime as much as they do? It is even weirder that some women have that as their favorite genre LOL.
Feminism: Feminists really did a number in spreading the statistics on crime against women. The ironic part is that men are still more likely to be killed, robbed, beaten, etc. than women in those same statistics. Their whole counter-argument against this is: "Well, who attacks men, huh? yeah, other men!" My answer to this is: "Nobody was talking about who was the attacker, in fact, I would even argue that it doesn't really matter who attacks you. But why would someone be afraid? Men aren't afraid of men. Why is that? This tells us that gender means nothing when it comes to who attacks you. And the frequency of such attacks is meaningless if you look at those stats. So that argument falls flat." <-- This is why point no. 3 shows why feminism is kind of indoctrinating a lot of women into thinking men are some violent beasts, and the usage of those statistics to back that assertion is the evidence.

At church we were all afraid to go to the washroom because the janitor would peek over.

Yeah, OK, and many young boys who belonged to certain churches in the past half a century or so were sexually abused as well.

But you know what they weren't? Being savaged by wild animals, dying of plague, sent off to war, or worked to death as slaves.

Broadly speaking, men are more likely to be at risk of unnatural or premature death than you are, and still we're in the best and safest era there's ever been. That doesn't mean everything is perfect, problems still exist, they always will; some will live in poverty, some will be sent to war, some will die unnecessarily of disease, but statistically speaking we in the west - including women - have more legal protection, government support, and medical science than we could ever have hoped to have at any other point in the past.

I challenge you name me one other point in history where life was more dangerous in the western world than it is now.

You clearly described someone who just told you you weren't competent for something you've not even tried yet. This is belittling.

Gaslighting is when they try to convince you that you didn't experience or do something the way you think you did. You didn't own a dog and were told you'd do a bad dog owner, you didn't do home repair and were told you couldn't do any.

Gaslighting would be if you did home repair and he'd tell you that it was all thanks to him, because he helped, because he directed, motivated you, and because he actually did most of the work while you sat back and were a nuisance. It doesn't even apply if the person telling you all this is convinced of what they say, it has to be consciously a manipulation attempt all the while they know they're in the wrong. That word is always overused and used wrong.
