I don’t understand why guys here keep trying to make everything about relationships, especially when we’re talking about non-sexual aspects of living, like being around people based on AND HAVING SOCIAL SKILLS, If you’re not even tolerable as a friend, what makes you think you’ll be tolerable in a relationship unless it’s purely about sex, status, or money?

This is also to address people who like to pretend I keep saying “all sex is evil”, even though they know I didn’t.

It’s very hard to take the “sex is so important” crowd seriously because very few of them acknowledge there should be more to a relationship than just fucking. Otherwise you’re just glorified fuck buddies. I don’t know maybe people get offended because Im describing them, they think I’m calling them shallow, that their romance is shallow, and it makes them feel like trash that will fuck anything. Also, especially for guys, many don’t want to admit they just want an exclusive fuck buddy.

Now, I do acknowledge less men have deep friendships. You would think people who complain about gender norms, and expectations for men would push back on the idea that men aren’t allowed to be in tuned with their feelings and how it’s usually other males pushing this. Though, I do acknowledge most of the complaining is really about hating feminism, not actually to help men. But I digress. Meanwhile, female friendships are more likely to be emotionally intimate. Sometimes, with cuddling is involved.

It’s just ideally, relationships are even emotionally closer than a best friend would be. This is also why I said love should be the goal of a relationship, and not seeing relationships as the cost of sex. Because what’s the point of a relationship if the only intimacy you have is physical?
