I listed my house for sale last week and had multiple people who were going to submit offers. As soon as the Supreme Court ruling came down, all three couples that were in the process of putting in offers abruptly withdrew, and said they didn’t want to buy in Texas and were going to move to a blue state instead.

After looking up the reasoning behind most abortions I’ve become more pro life. I still am pro choice in a way because I believe in body autonomy but you have to self reflect in a way and accept that you are selfishly doing it when you are irresponsible enough to have unprotected sex. It was a little sickening to see that cant afford it and not ready/dont want it are the most likely reasons behind an abortion. I feel like we need to educate more people on safe sex or come out with more effective contraceptives.

If you cause someone to be in danger, especially your children, and you have the ability to get that person out of danger, even if it means using your body to do so, you are legally required to do so.

You can't push someone out of a boat and watch them drown because it's a violation of bodily autonomy to help them back in.

My only real stance on abortion is, if it’s about body autonomy, then women should be solely accountable and responsible for the child birth, whether that’s electing to get an abortion or carrying to term. Since the man should have no say, he should also have no responsibility. So if she chooses to have the child, the father should then be able to choose to pay child support, or relinquish parental rights and walk away, a financial abortion if you will. If I had lived in an abortion banning state, I’d still be a virgin, instead of a mothers guaranteed. There’s no way my husband or any man would have continued dating me with no sex until marriage, which I would have required if abortion were illegal.

Men do not wait that long for sex, and I would never have gambled on even possibly becoming a single mom. I was already cautious about premarital sex, but there’s no way in hell I’d have had any sex at all before marriage in any place that treated me like nothing more than a breeding machine.

I am so surprised how few people truly understand the conservative argument. Like don’t people challenge there own beliefs to themselves anymore. Instead you see a lot of people arguing against straw men they build in their head.

The non-Christian conservative argument comes from logic and is this.

Killing a child is bad, it’s morally wrong no matter who is doing it. If you see a mother drowning her baby many people would do anything to stop her. That’s established.

Follow the logic here.

When a baby is born, obviously it’s a human with human rights. But what made it human? Surely not passing the imaginary goal posts of their mothers vagina didn’t make them human.

Therefore at some point inside of the mothers womb the baby was human. At what point? We can use the heartbeat but there’s arguments for and against that. But even then we don’t know for sure.

We are not omnipotent beings, it isn’t our place to decide when someone is considered a person.

Therefore it is a grey area, an unknown, whether or not a fetus is a human.

If it’s a grey area, when and for what reasons is it morally acceptable to gamble the murder of a child through abortion? When you force yourself to think it through, it’s tougher to be pro-choice than it is pro-life. And it’s got nothing to do with the woman and her rights. It’s about the baby.

Consider the woman drowning her baby… most people would do anything to stop her. Now do you understand the zealotry of the pro-lifers?

To them it isn’t even a grey area. It’s straight up murder.

Long time lurker here. Im a straight male who agrees with a lot of the common sentiments regarding the difficulties and imbalances men face in modern dating and relationships.

That said, it doesn't make much sense to me that certain guys could support the overturn of Roe v Wade. It doesn't help guys who want to date around or men who want to find the right woman to start a family with.

It'll limit casual sex in certain states, which sucks for the guys who want normal dating lives. And if you end up in a situation where a girl ends up knocked up, and you both weren't considering each other as long term partners...you may be tied to each other for many years.

I don't see how this ruling helps the modern man. And I'm no Chad btw, I'm a regular dude who's had a fair amount of partners and dating experiences. I've also dealt with a ton of the BS men complain about here.

Thankfully I live in a blue state....but the ruling will have cultural effects everywhere.

You say life begins at conception, correct?

Did you know (and I know you didn’t) most current and popular birth control methods are actually designed to prevent a fertilized egg (a “baby/life” according to your definition) from attaching to the uterus?

If terminating a pregnancy via abortion is murder, doesn’t that make taking the pill murder? Doesn’t that make tying your tubes murder?

And, did you know (again I know you didn’t) that when a woman has sex, tons of her eggs get fertilized but only 99.999999% of them never make it to the uterus and become a fetus — even when she’s not on birth control?

Does that make any sexually active woman a murderer?

So it sounds like to you, pro lifers, the only BC method that isn’t murder is condoms.
