There’s a fundamental distinction between the concerns women and men have when it comes to protecting their reputation:

Lies about men make people fear them and treat them like a threat, whereas lies about women rarely evoke that intense of an emotional response.

That’s something most women will never understand; people fearing them. Since I’m no longer a child, women are no longer the greatest threat to my life.

Also, in the context of dating, lies about women will rarely cause her to be without potential dates.

For men, one lie can make people treat you like a conniving r-ist.

the closest comparison to the app is essentially revenge porn. it’s just less explicit, but more widespread.

I don’t think the problem with something like this is misandry. men could make a similar app for women. The problem is more inherent than that. Why should there be a platform for people to reveal your most intimate details? Men are human beings not restaurants.

Safety issue is one thing. If that happens, report it to the authorities. But the meeting new people has its own personal emotional risk, there is no law against NSA, FWB, EMN,... or any other relationship arrangement. Also, there are no laws against liars.

If you can't handle the emotional risks in dating then go live in the woods. Or get to know someone REAL well before taking on more risks. Take accountability for your own action, grow the F up, and quit shifting the blame.

Men don’t typically scream from the mountain tops about their failed relationships like women. I see the points about safety and that’s well and all but the amount of people that will use it to gossip or flat out lie clearly over shadows any positive aspect.

Posting someone’s picture and talking bad about them all while hiding anonymously is a slippery slope and that slope has already been identified.

Imagine a friend group gets together on the tea app to join up to get even on someone that ghosted them, dumped them, or got with someone else. I’d imagine it would be full of bias, half truths, and flat out lies.

At least make the commenters have verified pictures and names displayed when making comments. That’s only fair. If you’re telling the truth why hide your identity?
