It shouldn't freaking matter. The kid should be presented with a range of choices in activities and interests and decide for themselves what to like. You don't need to reject the label of "boy" to be into baking or dolls or even pink princess dresses (should that be the case). I almost think anti-gender-assignment people are worse than biological gender essentialists. Your chromosomes don't doom you to one set of interests or talents, but neither does your "assigned gender".

If the kid decides when he's older that he wants to take on a feminine (edit: or female) identity, that's his call. But for now, he's a baby. Let him be his own person and decide for himself what being a boy means.

Although some may be be relevant here, the great majority of the "outcry" is because there are people that believe they are trans allies, but don't actually understand the topic. They are assuming sex and gender are the same, where it is coming to be sex is physical identification and gender is personal identification (simplified).

These people are uneducated fools who somehow think stating "it's a boy" means "it has a male-esque persona" and not what they actually meant which was "it has a penis." Hence, you are seeing all the "pushing gender roles" crap. What likely happened is the image compiler mistook those that were misandric for being confusing trans issues because of the word "gender" in it.

Apparently there is this new trend where some parents dress their children in unisex clothing and do not let anyone else in the family know the sex of the child until they are school age so that they are not socialized to be one gender or the other. It seems a bit strange and extreme to me, but I don't see how it would be harmful. It is for the parents to decide though, it is strange to critique them for calling their son a boy. To each his own I suppose. I suspect these same people would do the same if it was a girl though since the whole idea is keeping gender neutrality.

OK, it's a male, that's correct, because nature has two sexes and humans doesn't have the ability to decide their own natural gender.

But while trying to see a point out of their statements, what if we did let our children grow without teaching them what are the supposed roles of males and females society. Hell, let's even remove the media and society influence or any kind of influence. Let's give them proper education with little to no opinions, but proven facts. They'd grow up making their own conclusions and would identify themselves as people with one kind of genitals and people with another, obviously they would use names to describe this difference and since they would be properly educated by proven facts, they would know that trucks are males and garages are females. They could engage in proper sexual acts, become transexuals, homosexuals or whatever they want. But how far could they go against their natural gender-related instincts? -I mean those things are written in our genes, behaviour would be influenced by it. Males would still have a natural instinct to protect females, to mate with them and to aspire for great things, because males naturally seek power and females would still go about taking care of someone or something (I may be wrong in natural behaviours of females, so i won't try to go in detail). Of course not every male and female from this "new society" would go about their instincts, there would still be homosexuals, rapists, females in power, males in supportive and caring roles etc., it's just how the majority would turn out. And I'm not saying one sex would be better than the other, I'm saying, that you can't expect a child turn out differently because he is not labeled with any gender after his birth. Most likely he is going to turn out straight anyway, if he doesn't, those are his choices to make in future of his life.

Just raise your children lovingly while forgetting silly opinions, supposed roles or anything that would make you or the child upset. He is going to make his own decisions later on anyway and he'll need a loving family where to return to.

What was the incidence level of trans again? Something like 1%? (I think it may be rarer.) Gays are maybe 10% of the population, IIRC.

So in 99% of cases, male sex -> male gender.
In 90% of cases, male sex = likes girls.

Given that in the vast majority of cases, a male sexed child will be a straight male, it's far more efficient to raise the child as a straight male and be open to the possibility that it may be otherwise. If your kid isn't actually straight or isn't male-identified, but you've made it clear that you would be OK were that the case, they'll eventually come out to you.
