as I get older (47), I've had a handful of 'old flames' form the 90's 'reach out'. I'd say like a 7 minimum. I really dislike the idea of approaching, it gives the woman too much power, but if you're just trying to get laid it's sometimes necessary. In reality I'm generally too nervous or too ambivalent to approach women, depending on how drunk I am. Also, as many have said, if a 7+ is willing to date a fat guy it's because she's more or less expecting you to be her sugar daddy, she's extremely mentally ill, or you just got really lucky.

Actually during a time in my life I developed a sort of "thing", call it s fetish, for very average and even some below average looking women, even when I could have dated pretty much every good looking gal I came across.

Not the success I want.

I used to be a man-slut and I'd only date 7's or above. Ex-wife is definitely an 8 in looks. I've reached the point where I've realized that my requirements in other areas of my life are more important to me than just looks and I've had good relationships with women who I wouldn't have dated before. I'm not saying I don't find these women attractive, I do. They're just not objectively as attractive as women I dated in the past. But once I'm about ~6-9 months into a relationship, I've found I care so much more about a women's personality and our lifestyle together and I tend not to think about her looks as much. That is unless I found a woman to be a turnoff though. 1: I don't think in those numbers. My friends say i often go for women they would consider semi-attractive, plain or even somewhat unattractive, lookswise i mean. I guess a 4-5, if we wanna use numbers, is my most likely range i guess.

3: When i was 260lbs a 3 at most. Now at 205lbs i could maybe say a weak 5 normally or a strong 5 if i dress well and do my hair. Once i reach my desired BF % (at 23% right now goal is at least 15%) then who knows. Could be that i have really good or really bad bone structure hidden underneath my chubby cheeks. Time will tell. Building substantial muscle to get a really fit body is also going to take some time.

4: Kinda doing my own thing right now and not actively dating. Some women at my workplace are somewhat nicer and more open i guess, but some others are pretty much indifferent still. At 260lbs before, total disaster not even worth trying to do OLD or Irl mostly.

I’ll approach anyone who seems like they’d be interesting to talk to no matter if I’m attracted or not, this includes men as well. My personality is naturally somewhat flirty, so they can draw conclusions as they wish.

Depends on the scale your using. For exponential; A 5 is required but based just on looks a 7 is more likely.

However, what would make me so interested to approach is if I couldn't do that, as in she'd be so different I would be wondering if she's an Alien or robot or something to which it'd be like "I need to figure this chick out" literally would want to get to know her.

9 times out of ten I don't strike out on the initial approach because I triangulate pretty well, thinking of the right thing she'd want to hear at the right moment, but no it doesn't work in that beyond at initial validation I don't necessarily have much interest in just monkey dancing like that forever.

I absolutely never cold approach and I have only ever done warm approaches when there were obvious signs that she likes me more than just a friend. I would never approach a 10/10 because there is a 100% chance of getting humiliated. There is no attractiveness threshold. If she gives me obvious signs that she is interested she can be quite ugly and I would still be excited.

About a 6-7 depending on the body IRL. Problem is that most dudes here don't approach women so how she looks becomes a moot point.

When it comes to OLD I'll message when I don't forget to go on the app (I be getting high and forgetting). I look good so I don't need to make it more complicated than it needs to be. Sometimes they message before i can and other times vice versa. I ain't keeping the score like that with a stranger online.

First, we need to define attractiveness. For me, personally? Attractiveness is the sum of the Four P's which draw me to a person:

Presentation: Are your outward characteristics appealing to me?
Personality: Are you a person I could interact with easily?
Practice: Do you treat people well? Is your composure stable and agreeable?
Past: Are you know for having good relationships with people? Do we have common hobbies and interests?

If we rate each of these 4 components on a scale of 1-10 (1 being absolutely deplorable, 10 being the my ideal), I'd say all four categories should average out to a 6 or 7.

This means that someone could score fairly low on Presentation, but if their scores in the other 3 areas are very high, I would still find them quite attractive. IRL is tough because, unlike OLD, not everyone is looking for a date. So finding the right time to approach is key. In OLD, I always messaged if they seem to tick the initial boxes.

I hate scales because they are so relative as fuck that they are virtually meaningless. What is a 7 to one guy could be a 4 to another guy while I'm here thinking this girl is actually a 9 possibly a 10 even. I say this because the one girl I have ever truly loved was not a beauty queen. She was drabby, wore coke bottle glasses, she was really short, skinny, and even sickly looking sometimes. If I knew today what I know now things might have been way different. I would have known how to approach her better and maybe work better on my image instead of coming off as a Chad-dudebro Thundercock or something.
