I remember a girl within my social circle who I took an interest in about a year ago who was attractive to me, and I thought that whilst I found her attractive she wasn’t traditionally attractive enough to be shooting too high and I believed we were safely within the same “league”.

She was skinny fat with a very plain face but having got to know her, her features and mannerisms merged into her personality and the chemistry we had and made her more attractive to me. She was by all accounts a plain Jane, but I thought to me having got to know her she was attractive in a unique way and would probably fly under the radar of most guys, or at least be almost invisible to above average and attractive guys.

She literally ended up dating an actual model who lived locally.

It didn’t compute in my brain, as why was he committing to her, how had she bagged him and why did I make the stupid mistake of thinking we were anywhere near each other in our levels of attractiveness and compatibility when to her I suppose I was well below, considering how almost Adonis like this guy is.

It’s quite disheartening, but I know to take it on the chin and maybe just accept that it really is that hard to date anybody I consider even slightly attractive at all, even if it’s only after getting to know them.

Maybe average or slightly above average guys need to genuinely recalibrate and either give up and focus on ourselves or kinda train ourselves to shoot even lower?

Anybody else had an experience like this?
