I believe that the general acceptance of vilifying men that report dating difficulties is pretty problematic and toxic.

A great example of this was in a post made in this subreddit a few weeks ago saying how men generally just go after women out of their league.

So naturally the response from some men was to share their own experience with one commentator's experience being so stark that it helps illustrate the point well.He was on Hinge and got liked by two women, both women were obese and looked like slobs, not taking care of their appearance, not brushing their hair or even wearing clean clothes. Within the second or third messages, these women were complaining about their dating prospects and having to lower their standards so much in order to get any matches at all.

In other words, they called this commentator ugly and below their league. The thing with him though he said, he wasn't obese and he did put in a great deal of effort in his appearance and listed the many things.

The response from women was to question why he thinks he is better or even equal to them. They told him he should improve himself more and the women here weren't in the wrong. One commentator became angry at him calling these women obese and not curvy.Even though the commentator went through extensive efforts to look the best they can, they were still told they aren't good enough for obese women who looked like complete slobs. And I find this type of attitude very toxic and problematic.
