My statement is a sweeping generalization that is meant to apply to most people and an oversimplification of actual dating dynamics. Bringing up one exception does not disprove it. (You know a man who makes a million dollars a year and increasing his income by $0.01 didn't improve his dating prospects, or your 100-year-old grandma has anorexia and lost 0.01 pounds, but her dating prospects didn't improve.)

1. The best way for most men to improve their dating prospects is to make more money. (Especially if they are broke.) The median income for the average American is about $40,000. This is not enough money to raise a family on one income. The Red Pill man making $40,000 who fantasizes about being the provider just isn't making enough money. So, men should focus on their career/education to make more money. The average man also overestimates the importance of muscles in attracting a woman. Redpillers advocate getting jacked and having big muscles to affirm their masculinity, but the average woman doesn't care thaat much about muscles and are okay with average bodies--some are even attracted to chubby dad bods. Men are spending hours in the gym every week to build physiques that quite frankly only impress other men.

2. The best way for most women to improve their dating prospects is to lose weight. (Especially if they are overweight or obese.) 80% of Americans are overweight and almost half are obese. The average American woman is 5'4 and 170 pounds, which by BMI means they are just a hair under obese. Men are believed to be more visual and looks matter. If you are obese, you are not the best version of yourself, and you are not attracting the best potential partner you could. The average woman also overestimates the importance of their career/education in attracting a man. Having a high paying job won't make you more attractive to men. Money does not sexually arouse men. You can be a doctor/lawyer/engineer who makes a lot of money, but if you are stage III morbidly obese, have a terrible personality or ugly, no man is going to give you a chance. If you want to attract the best/highest quality man you can, you should be in the gym almost every day training hard and focused on your nutrition.

Obvious rebuttals I will address now:
1. Men are overweight too.
-TRUE: completely agree with this. Men have equally as much responsibility to be fit, but women care much less about this, so income is a higher priority for men.
2. The CEO doesn't date the Starbucks barista.
-TRUE: People date those in proximity--so coworkers and friends. And people generally date within their social class and income bracket. But, in general men care less about a woman's income and education and they are willing to date down.

CMV that this is good general advice to give to most people. I always thought these were common sense, but I would say otherwise because:
1. I see overweight/obese women post in "Rate me" and Looks-maxxing subs every day asking how they can improve their appearance. Female-focused glowup subs like /Vindicta also have women discussing every day how they can be more attractive but are focused on nails, makeup or "softmaxxing".
2. "Gym-cels" or RedPillers who whine about being single when they go to the gym every day and have six pack abs. But men are enrolling less and less in college and dropping out of the work force.
3. Women ask "Would you date a woman that makes less/more money" on Purplepill at least once a month. I also see it frequently on Ask Men subs as well.
