I mean there's plenty of guys who can talk a big game. But is there any follow through? Thats usually when the woman leaves. So lets take a normal man, and put them in a minimum wage job. One of those men has no ambition, no drive, and all they want to do is play video games, drink, vape, and hang out with their friends. The second person is in the same job, but he has ambition. He wants to move up to bigger things in life, and still doesn't follow through, that doesn't put him in the first catagory, or the second. I feel like this is a concept that lost on a lot of people on reddit because they dont socialize that much, and kind of are bad at picking up on social cues. The point op is making is something someone would say when you're a child with no actual responsibilities. When you're an adult with responsibilities, a house means a lot, a car means a lot, a good job means a lot. I mean, if you don't think those things mean anything with dating then I encourage anyone to go out to a bar and say they work at a gas station, they dont own their own place, and they drive a broken down car. Watch how quickly your dating prospects dry up and you're shut down every single time. Just like a person drowning, not many people are going to want to be a life preserver and they're aware you make bad choices by your career and other choices in life. I mean, if one was on the spectrum and only saw things in black and white and couldn't pick up on the finer details on a conversation one might not be able to pick these things up though

I think that women are GENUINELY attracted to status and power. Many women just instictively become drawn to men who have their shit together, influential, and with resources.

It's kind of like Russian women. I used to think they were all just gold diggers looking to exploit men with money. You go there and it's just LOADED with super models at every corner. I later found out, that they genuinely aren't gold diggers in the exploitative sense, but rather, it's just who they are. It's their culture. Russian women just love being spoiled, as it's a status symbol of their own and something they strive for. They also genuinely prefer tough, aggressive "assholes". For the 99% of men who are in between those extremes, your money and status are just two of your characteristics along with 100s of others. They are not somehow separate to your being or essence, as much as your height or heir color or sense of humor are.

We don’t pick what we’re attracted to. You could say, “If you have to use looks to make a guy attracted to you then he’s not really into you,” but that’s not really how attraction works. You have to be attracted to someone to develop romantic feelings, or you’d just be friends. You just seem annoyed at what women find attractive.

I think you're viewing female attraction through the same lense and male attraction, and men and women are not the same.

Women want both alpha fucks AND beta bucks. They have a dual mating strategy to reproduce with chad AND want to lock you down for your provisioning.

I think u got it backwards lol. A confident and charismatic character and good looks are better for flings. Status and money are much better prospects long term. Research shows that when women rate men on who they'd be willing to fuck vs who they would be willing to marry, money typically goes out the picture for a fling, while its much more valued as a long term prospect. From what I've seen, Status is a genuine sexual attraction trigger for women, in a way that it isn't for men.

If a person leads with their job, then IMO it's usually a proxy for socio-economic status, not raw status.

From what I've observed, in sub-cultures that I've been a part of; the highest status men (even if they aren't that good looking) are attractive to women with options within those communities. (And they do form long term relationships.)

I agree 100% about money does not trigger sexual attraction in a woman, and a relationship built on money is a bad foundation.
