With the bra freedom of lockdown I'm considering just quitting bras for good. I wish it wasn't such an expectation for women, I basically only wear mine so you don't see my nipples through my clothes. I have small boobs, I don't need a bra for comfort so it's so annoying to see fat guys with boobs bigger than mine and nipples piercing through their shirt meanwhile if I do that I'm indecent.

I mean, I have a pretty large chest so if I’m doing even light activity(i.e. walking up stairs) I’m very uncomfortable without a sports bra. But yeah underwrites can go die in a fire.

I loathe under wire bras. They dig in my ribs. I wear an F so not much choice either.

I like the yoga tops or sleep bras. Just a little fabric top. No underwire or fasteners. Just enough to stop the flop and avoid boob sweat lol.

Haven't been wearing one and went to pick up a package. I realised my nips were showing when i saw my refection in the lift mirror.

Stood there trying to cover them a bit and hoping no men saw me. Yeah, the only reason it bothered me was i didn't want men learing at me.

The more i think about that, the more i realise how fucked up it is to have to live like that and it's just considered normal.

What is point bras ? Seriously what is point ?

Chest support for women with bad backs , I can understand , but bras are not made like that . Bras have wires and things which force your breasts into uncomfortable positions. They provide no back support . Sports bras and full-comfort back support bras I can understand the need for - but lacy little things , padded bras , push up bras .. these are the majority of bras out there . They can actually damage your breast tissue. I had boobs since I was 9 , but didn't wear a bra until I got picked on in high school because we had to wear see-through shirts. Even a teacher complained to my mother. Wtf. I had small 12 Yo's boobs . They weren't in anyone's face and many guys had little moobs anyway . Wtf is so wrong about the type of nipple which over 50% of the population have ? Why can't we tell men to wear ball bras or something .

I no longer wear a bra anyway . Fuck that shit.if anyone says anything , I literally just direct the question back at them- unless they are genuinely asking . In that case , I reply that they are expensive and uncomfortable and my size is impossible to find other than in places where they do proper fittings and those are the most expensive of all.

Men's testicles sag over time . They ought to be forced to keep them firm and bouncy if they want us to do the same for our boobs.

I remember one of my friends when I was a kid came to my house and her eyes pop out of her skull seeing every woman in my family (my two sisters and mom) not wearing a bra. She was weirded I think I don't remember her comment but she commented that it's not like that at her house. Like I don't get why it makes people jaws drop seeing boobs move around without a bra lol.

Do women really hate bras that much? Women talk about taking their bras off as soon as they come home but I've never even considered doing that unless it's to put on a sports bra instead.

Maybe I'm just lucky with the comfy ones I've found? Fit is super important (AND CHANGES THROUGHOUT YOUR LIFE!) and makes a massive difference.

Edit : seems a lot of bra haters are smaller cup sizes. I'm a D, so I find being braless uncomfortable especially if I'm walking anywhere. If I had A or B cups I'd probably find bras a whole lot more uncomfortable and pointless. Jealous!

It’s so interesting to me that we’re still having this conversation in 2020. Bras. First, the man who invented them really hated women. The most torturous contraption ever. We burned them in the 60’s/ 70’s. Along with flags. But it wasn’t because of discomfort. It was a symbol of freedom. We didn’t wear bras for yrs and no big deal. I know people are trying to invent a better mousetrap but nothing works as well as the dreaded underwire. And I need one at this age. Lockdown has been like living back then. Haven’t put a bra on in months! One thing though, I never understood the obsession American women have with the nipple. Covering it up. Making sure it doesn’t show through clothing. Why?

I'm the weird one here I guess. Unless I'm taking a shower I'm in a bra pretty much 24/7.

According to a bra size calculator I'm a 34 F so maybe that's why but I do not feel comfortable being braless at all. Which is ironic because I hated bras when I started puberty.

I wore a bra after almost a month today just so that I don't get too used to not wearing one and that was the longest, most uncomfortable hour I've had so far since the lockdown began. I took it off the moment I could. I cannot believe I used to wear one every freaking day for 12 plus hours and now I can't even for an hour. It's going to be an adjustment having to start wearing it on a daily basis when this is over

Lol. But honestly, I like wearing bras, because I have big boobs, so without it my breasts can hurt. If you have the right size bra, you really shouldn't be able to feel you're wearing it. My main issue is with the damn prize of bras!! 😅

I haven’t worn a bra in 7 years. I eased my way into it. At first you notice men noticing but these days I hardly pay them no mind unless they make a big deal out of it and then I pity them for their lack of immaturity. It’s just nips get over it. Shockingly enough I get do evil eye glares from other women all the time and then I just pity their lack of security. I’m not coming for your man, I just want to be comfortable.

I tried wearing bras as a teen. Because im autistic, I'm touch sensitive around my ribs. I tried so many different kinds and nothing felt okay. After graduating i just stopped, and started wearing camisoles under my shirt instead. Its still not comfy, I'm a d cup so they're annoying. But its better than constantly adjusting the softer and less supportive bras, and feeling like i couldn't breath while wearing tight or underside bras.

I personally like wearing a bra. But that's because I have D cups and hate feeling them jiggle every time I take a step. A friend put me on to these wonderful vanity fair bras that don't have underwire but still hold me up and now sometimes I even sleep in my bras, they're so comfortable! The only time I hate wearing a bra is when I have a super cute dress with spaghetti straps on and my bra straps show and look obnoxious lol.
