I may be the only one not praising Simone biles for what was essentially was made to sound like quitting on her team in the middle of the game.

In my generation, when your game was off, you pulled your head and your shit together and you did it for your team. You didn’t say “I need to take a break in the middle of this competition for my mindfulness.”

Shes a tough competitor and this isn’t like her. So my take is the truth is either 1) she’s nursing an injury and US coaches want to rest her for the all around but made that call far too fucking late or 2) Us coaches pulled her out to replace her but she took the heat for it.

And if either of those are true, this was such the wrong message to send to kids. “I don’t wanna play anymore cause I’m scared so I quit on my team?”

And yes I know I’m in the minority here.

This summer's actually going pretty well for me. I'm not a super winner like y'all but I resumed having an active social life, I'm dating again and my first thought when waking up in the morning is no longer "fuck, I'm still alive." Compared to how I felt over the past 3-4 years, it's a big difference.

I know that saying that is tempting fate something awful but I'll cross that bridge when I get there.

Coming back from the airport the uber driver had some vapid "todays hits" radio station on and two vapid commentators were both promoting the idea of all social media being tied to you under the guise of not being mean on line and bringing up how celebrities can use it to troll other celebrities. Felt like something they were given to read.

There was a post in r/askmen about dating struggles that the average man faces but it got removed for some reason. Probably because of the shit-flinging.

I made a comment about instant gratification culture ruining social interactions because people expect someone to come into their lives and make it instantly more pleasurable or better or they’re passed over. People also take first dates too seriously in this regard in that it takes much longer to really get to know someone but everyone expects instant butterflies and excitement when in reality those feelings are probably the least important in factoring whether someone is worthy or even a decent person.

Or I think it's because they're just wayyyy more overt about their desires than women are, making it appear so.

Any which way you slice it, I noticed how gay men make me feel desired, like something viscerally attractive. Plus, when gay men flirt with me, I feel as though there's less of a chance they're doing it to get something for me or teasing me as some sort of cruel joke.

And when you compare the comments I get:

Women: "You're cute" (in my experience this has about 7 different meanings and most of em ain't what you'd hope for)

Gay men: "Look at that body, if I was your girl I wouldn't be able to keep my hands off you"
or in some cases "Mm how much I'd love to just suck you dry" (or something to that effect)

It's night and day. One is direct and leaves no room to misunderstand. The other has at LEAST 7 meanings you could interpret (yes, I counted!) and most of those interpretations don't have promising implications.

Tbh gay men are the reason I haven't completely given up on the idea that I can be desirable. My SMV skyrockets in the LGBTQ+ community for some reason

So, random thought, just discovered this subreddit.

It is interesting. I have not answered any threads yet because there are too many commenters and I think any comment I make will probably not be seen. But it's nice to get different perspectives into the entire paradigm. I especially liked a girl posting saying that all her friends are not like the Red Pill characterisation and that she distances herself from girls that are like that.

My personal thoughts is that the entire argument takes a backseat in a sense to the larger political and economic landscape. But I still have to deal with women so I suppose I should pay some mind.

My experiences in general with women have been extremely bad. I was bullied severely for two years in an office job by groups of women. Been in that positive chemistry state and the girl then gone and lost her virginity to someone else more than once! I have had other things but I would say one of my most uncomfortable experiences was dealing with my half sister (now 19) whom was just so cold I felt like I was going mad (I tried giving presents and stuff and staying in her life partly because my father had pushed it) and I found out might not be genetically related to me but now this is all an untalked about family doo dab because no genetic test means there will be no clarity or accountability for "mum".

I heard that 1/10 men are looking after children they think are theirs but aren't. This is a BBC statistic! I think this would be an interesting avenue for society to move forward. Just test everyone! But I suppose there are legitimate complaints about totalitarianism in that proposition. But maybe if we get rid of some of the folks screwing everything up!

I do think the red pill community is heavily one sided though. I had a close male friend of 25 years who slept around a lot and he has just been such a nasty person. Keeping me away from people (women) I later met and liked a great deal so he could sleep with all of them and such. Gossiping that I was not left wing enough for him with groups and them keeping away from me. Trying to evanglise leftism on me to change my views. I have also been screwed over by other guys and I think it is guys behaviour that is the worst one a lot of the time and this has a knock on effect to women behaving crappy. That has been my experience. There are SO MANY guys who will just do anything for sex. Even stabbing another guy in the back.

I am able to not be in a relationship quite happily. Like, I spend a lot of time reading and looking into things meaningful to me like spirituality! Also, I don't have a lot of money and don't have a desire to try and make it work with a girl that I couldn't keep. Don't really have the spare energy for a girl. I find it more exciting the idea of our society going through massive political changes and seeing how things change from there.

I feel this is probably going to be ignored but just thought I would say hello!
