With the rise of divorces and many children growing without both parents, I think it's necessary to take a step back and let people understand that a marriage is about understanding - conflicts are a natural part of getting better understanding, so long as it doesn't involve violence, provocation to violence or using sex or infidelity as a tool for control.

So No Divorce groups are to create that space to discuss grievances and the standards of what's acceptable where there is an argument. But the most important thing is a difficult life is still better than one where there is divorce - the challenges are part of life, we need to overcome them, not abandon the marriage. Isn't that why we say in sickness or in health, for richer or for poor....till death do you apart.

And it doesn't have to be one big group of hundred thousand people. It can be separated by religious values, by ethnicity, by state - because I understand different cultures would have different norms on a man-woman relationship. And unless the reasons are for domestic abuse, or infidelity, or using sex and infidelity as a weapon, we shouldn't accept it. My focus here isn't just on the two, but that children should have both parents growing up. It's important for their sense of home and understanding of what they should expect from the opposite sex - parents should emulate that maturity that they can learn from.

This is just a thought I was wondering about, how it would work.
