EDIT: I walked up to and made small talk for 5 minutes before doing this. Didn’t realise we meant no preamble whatsoever.

EDIT2: this was about 4 months before tinder was introduced to me so it seemed like the only way to hit it off with guys.

I’ve approached guys and exchanged info, but would never be interested in giving my contact info away without some good conversation to get from point A to point B. I can’t tell if someone is attractive without talking to them.

When i was waiting tables, i occasionally got left numbers on receipts from guys (and girls) who hadn’t made any effort to chat with me while they were at my table. I always found that super weird. Like they were interested in me strictly because of my looks and…server skills? Even if I’d been single i certainly never would have used those numbers.

It depends on “total stranger”. I have not in a everyday setting like grocery store or gas station but I have at cons/events. They are a total stranger in terms of prior interaction but by the fact that they are there means there’s some common interest.

Happened to me once. A women left her number on a note under my windscreen wiper at the gym. Incredibly beautiful woman. Way way out of my league looks wise. I called her. I told her immediately that i was married so nothing could go any further, but i felt I owed her the simple courtesy of calling her as an acknowledging of her bravery in leaving a note. i think that takes some guts to do, especially for a woman. Anyhow, we became friends and message each other every now and again for last 5 years since then. Single parent and such an amazing person. Lot of respect for her.

The Bell guy who was hooking up my internet looked kindof cute so I went outside (in my pjs and messy bun from juuuust waking up) and asked for his number. We went on a nice long walk later in the week, but he ended up arguing with me over something stupid (it was a snake fact, I have pet snakes and they are an Interest of mine and he couldn’t fathom that ball pythons are docile… like to the point that he yelled at me) so I just went home and deleted his number.

Glad I did it though, just for the experienceof making the first move.
