There is good reason for women to value chastity, and good reason for men to "protect their honor".

But the opposite constraint was that a man had to "make an honest woman out of her" i.e. provide for her for the rest of his life, come hell or high water.

What has changed is that men are still held to that (old, Patriarchal, for any feminists reading) standard, whereas women are not held to any standard. [Aside: feminists should be campaigning for men to throw off the shackles of paying women for sex, because it's so Patriarchal.]

In our modern age, the most common serious sexual diseases can be pretty easily treated, so no one is going insane or blind. Women have essentially complete control of whether they get pregnant or not. Her shackles are off. There's NO downside to engaging in what would have been sexually risky or even deadly behaviour.

Add to that the concurrent demise of the old morality, such as religion and you have a perfect storm.

Don't worry, the morality will come back again, slowly. People will be drawn to it when they realize they feel empty inside from whoring themselves.

I think there’s a misunderstanding here. With an OF, the woman is consenting to having her nudes displayed for a predetermined amount of money.

However the examples you mentioned of nudes being leaked or girls in high school being embarrassed if their nudes were shared are not the same thing as an OF, because they sent the nudes with the understanding that they are meant for the individual they sent them too, not for his/her buddies or friends.

The reason strippers were considered nearly prostitutes is because they really had no agency, strip club owners made the lion's share of the money off of women's bodies. I guess only fans is seen as empowering to women because women are getting money for posting nudes instead of getting romantically involved with someone and showing nudes for free. Also, what a lot of people like about onlyfans is that the person has to pay to see nudes of them and they can chat with the people who pay for their nudes. A lot of the men who pay and view this content do it because it's a way for them to get nudes without getting romantically involved with the person. Sometimes it's hard to find someone to hookup with, and when a guy dates a woman, it is usually already a financial investment and he doesn't know if his love will even be reciprocated. So why not spend money on something where he knows he will get something in return.

Unfortunately though, this is how addiction can form. It gives the guy who buys the content, something that can satisfy him when he's lonely, but only up to a certain point and only for a short period of time until he wants more of it and has to pay again. This kind of content won't fill the void he's feeling, it only satisfies him temporarily until he can't seem to stop buying onlyfans content. Of course not every guy who buys onlyfans content is lonely, some just like looking at nudes. But OnlyFans seems to prey on the lonely men which seems cruel.

My question though is how is it empowering for women to work in the porn/only fans industry, but shameful for men to watch porn? Shouldn't it be empowering for both? I heard someone say that there's nothing wrong with men watching porn but that men should only watch the porn they are paying for, but I don't think that's right either. Unfortunately more and more women and girls are getting into the prostitution game. Especially here in CA where loitering for prostitution has been decriminalized. Studies show that legalizing prostitution also contributes to sex crimes and trafficking numbers rising in the area.

I know people like their porn but paying for it seems silly. The money they’re spending on these women doesn’t go back into the economy like it should. That's because high schoolers are kids and they're worried about their friends and family finding out. Teenagers also tend to not think of potential consequences and are more likely to have self-esteem issues. I think it's great.

I think it's great that females are exposing all their ASSets for the world to see. Hey, that's more prostitutes and porn stars being exposed so men that want to raise a family with a decent woman, know who to avoid. As far as I'm concerned, females can do whatever they want with their lives. I'm not the one that has to explain their permanent online videos/lifestyle to their children and grandchildren. Feminism is about empowering women, and the only power that exists is the power of CHOICE.

Feminism is also about the female/feminine experience - so it shouldn't be defined by the male/masculine perspective because why would it need to exist given that part of the reason it is needed/useful is because most other philosophies are in fact dominated by the male/masculine perspective. This is very similar to how we should expect a white person talking about what it's like to be Black should be reacted to - the only authority on the Black experience shouldn't be one that experiences it in the abstract.

Likewise an authority on the feminine experience shouldn't be one that experiences it abstractly. This is actually why I find it funny that men will identify as feminists - while I support women's rights and I have read feminist perspectives, it would be counter-productive to a feminist movement to include me as a man. I shouldn't in any way be defining the feminine experience anymore than feminists should be defining the male experience.

Nudity is natural. There is nothing noble about wearing clothes or being naked. It used to be pornographic to see a woman's ankles - is that better than paying a woman to see her naked over an internet connection? Is it worse? Who the hell cares and why does it even matter?
