Probably because the majority of them date people who they meet and interact with in everyday life. Or they date people they can connect with through social circles... which are 99% other famous people or entertainment industry people. Most people do that already--date within social proximity. The majority of people don't need to go to a poor village to find someone they like. That's why work, college, church, through friends, and to some extent online dating (set by your location) are some of the most common ways people get into relationships.

Most people date within their socioeconomic class, which includes rich people. It's also good to date someone who has their own money/career/fame behind them, that way you're on a more even footing, and will probably have similar views about how and where to raise your children. I'm sure some rich dudes would love to find some hot turnip farmer and wife her up because they want someone completely dependent on them but it doesn't seem to be the case for most wealthy people.

If you are a mega famous and rich celebrity you already have a chauffeur, maid, cook and can get a nanny. So a wife who is willing to do household labour isn’t too much value to you.

In your example of passport bros they are looking for attractive women who will also do traditional wife duties of maintaining a home. But when you already have a staff that do that, that attribute isn’t so important. Other things become important.

They want someone who has a similar story and background. Another person who has worked hard to get into the position they are both in understands the dedication, effort and sacrifice required.

They want someone who shares a similar life experience. A partner who also has paparazzi following them, someone who is criticized or judged for everything they do, someone who just understands what that type of life is like.

They want to be certain their partner actually likes and wants to be with them not their wealth or status. Celebrities seem to be with other celebs or people they have known since before they were celebrities. There are exceptions, i believe Matt Damon is/was married to a bartender.

There are many female celebrities that are lusted over that would not be as desired if they were baristas. It isn't nearly the same as the effect of male status, but it is there.

Most of the time these women are still dating up though. Often it's the mega famous actor dating the lesser known up-and-coming actress who then becomes more famous because of their relationship. So after the fact it seems like they were on the same level even if they weren't.

Depends on goals. “Dating” down is much easier, but sharing a lifestyle and raising kids can be easier with people who are more like you. It may not always play out, but famous people tend to feel more comfortable with other famous people because they are coming into the relationship as equals (more or less). Theres usually less sense of being used or taken advantage of, whether the normie is even scheming or not.

It never works out if you date a truly poor girl or super rich girl (if you're neither).
