this sentence right her got this post removed. you can't make a blanket statement like this saying guys won't get a date but they don't have muscles. You're ignoring the fact that women like guys in all shapes and sizes.

As a guy who added 30 pounds of muscle by going to the gym consistently, I can't argue that muscle don't help. Please feel to repost this but I recommend adding some actual advice how to get started and what are the benefits physically and mentally of exercising.

I've been working out since I was 14 until I had to stop at 32 for health reasons for 6 years when I was slim (not skinny) with no muscle. Now I have muscle back.

I can tell you, the difference isn't so huge as guys like the poster are making out. There's a difference of maybe 20 percent improvement with muscles. And I'm a well muscled guy when I work out. Lucky genes.

I say this as a guy with plenty of experience (slept with well over 100 women)

Muscle helps but there are way more important things.

I believe being very overweight would make things considerably harder. But as a slim guy who wasn't skinny or fat - I didn't struggle much more to meet women.

I've worked with 1000s of guys - and it's my firm opinion that the by far the biggest benefit of muscles is that men suddenly give themselves permission to deserve more and hotter women.

Well here is my advice guys. Ur main goal is to get a better shape in order to be healthy & look better for urself first. That should take a 70% of the reason part that motivates you, the other 30% idc do whatever u want.

Don't ever do this in order to get something specific unless you are a professionnal trainer or a competitor,because everything will come with it later.( And it takes time ofc depending on ur genetics)

Just go with the flow of hiting the gym,as time goes by, u'll start noticing people traiting u well and with more respect and distance.

The only issue I noticed through this, is that u become more noticeable and people starts having some creepy glances on u ,which I really hate !

SOME people care about looks a lot. SOME people care hardly at all. MOST people fall somewhere in the middle, like a bell curve. This goes for both men and women.

The idea that fitness is all that matters is silly. But so is the idea that it doesn't matter at all. There are tons of factors that go into desirability.

I've dated 100s of women with my body ranging from marathon bod, lifting six days a week, to soccer bod (slim but some muscle). Only once did a woman say something. She was a competitive lifter and was surprised how weak I was lol. We still hooked up for a while and it was great.

I only dated women with college degrees or were attending college. To them it was more important I was tall, fit, had money and was well spoken.

As a girl, I prefer slim yet muscled. Like a rock climber or runner. Fitness is very attractive, for sure. I will say a lot of my girl friends do seem to like thicker/bigger guys tan me tho. It’s not everything of course; I’ve met barrel-chested men I liked, out of shape, etc. It has a lot to do with the way they treat me, & am I comfortable around them, do they jive? This whole idea that men should have sixpacks is just the male perspective. You guys think all women only care about muscles. But what most women I know care about most is character traits like empathy. Of course there should be a level of physical attraction, but muscles isn’t the dealbreaker in that regard. Try to listen to women if you want to get with women. Saying that women don’t want you because you aren’t one of the most conventionally attractive men on this planet, is just a weak excuse for not wanting to bother with a shit personality. Can confirm, when I was competing in amateur boxing back in the day (13 years ago), I was RIPPED and I had all the attention. Then I started a business and got heavy. Still lifted but got a belly. Attention went DOWN. Women do not treat overweight men the same as they treat fit men. Now, I'm getting back into shape, lifting weights harder, dieting better. The attention is going up.

Last year, I was still a bit heavy, (18% bodyfat) but I'm 6'3", I lost this chick to a guy who was 5'7" but fit with a 6-pack (height apparently isn't everything to women. :( )

The way I see it is like this:

Fit, stylish with a good personality, BEST.

Skinny, stylish with a good personality, NOT GREAT, NOT TERRIBLE, YOU'RE NEUTRAL IN HER EYES.

Stylish but have a belly that can extend past your belt, even if you have the world's best personality, you're going to lose to men who may not be more interesting than you, but are fitter than you.

I absolutely think that every guy should be in the gym, you don't have to become a bodybuilder but every little bit helps.

The reason women like muscular celebrities is because their looks are all they can experience first hand. Few women ever actually meet and get to know celebrities of their choosing so they have no idea what the celeb. Is like in person. From my opinion, muscles are just a feature that makes you attractive (obviously, good health means you are disciplined or just taking hella steroids) but women falling for only muscles is completely wrong, because women fall for your personality that includes, your conversation skills, etiquettes, lifestyle, how you behave with other, how you treat others, your IQ, how well you can handle tough situations, how are you secluded and how are you with the crowd there are hell lot of things.

"I wouldnt date a guy with muscles" could mean she thinks a pro bodybuilder is wierly muscular, but it most likely doesnt mean that someone who lifts regularely is off the market.

Its like the "women like dadbods over six packs", its true, but only if six pack means below 8% bodyfat, and dad bod means 12-16% (the healthy range, that often has some sixpack)

Yes, that is not to say there is don't like actually skinny guy or have it as a fetish, but overwhelmingly being muscled to some degree is what women like. Not necessarily Arnold, a lot don't like the overly muscled either, but defined muscles will nearly always help.

That said, the greatest decider in female attraction is your personality, the energy you give off. So you can still date up if you are not muscled, but it is a hurdle to overcome.

I think I get where you’re coming from but you’re exaggerating a bit. You don’t have to look like brad Pitt or Chris hemsworth and as a matter of fact the bodies they have in photo shoots are attained through severe dehydration and unhealthy diets that allow the outlines of their muscles to be more pronounced. When they’re not doing a big movie that calls for it they don’t look like that. What matters is that you’re taking care of your body and that it shows. If you never move a muscle and don’t go outside then yeah, that’s gonna be pretty unattractive. But I don’t need to be a 7 day a week CrossFit beast to get laid. Just go for a run every once in a while, do some push-ups everyday and you’ll be fine. It’s healthy to exercise and get some sun. People like healthy people.

Muscles help, but they help even more if you have stamina and are good in bed. Then that big dick energy translated through skill into them just creaming. No joke, my issue is that i have to choose better because good sex gets women to be hooked, which isnt as fun as one would assume esp if they are on the crazy side. Meaning, yea they help, but in reality its still attitude, charisma, conversation, iois, confidence, and looking after self and life that gets attention. Good looks and attractive bodies can only go so far, i see plenty of good looking guys with sub par girls because they settle, or they dont try and coast. And there are thosr that open heir mouth and its just imbarrasong for them. So, yeah work out, but working out for health and energy reasons means a hell of a lot more than pretty boy brad pit looks.
