Guys and girls: I opened up to a girl way too early, mentioned I was depressed a bit due to some various circumstances in life. Immediately, I could feel a loss in attraction. Now she's not even interested in sex anymore. I think this experience is a common one for many men. And I learned it the hard way.

It cracks me up that some women think they can use their sexuality to live like hedonists or swingers with zero ramifications. Simply because men always pursue women.

After some very good insightful conversations I reached the conclusion that apparently if anyone asks a women for their body count, they are automatically insecure.

I’ve often heard in RP and relayed circles that it’s really important to have both a low n count and to also be very feminine/submissive. But I’ve known a lot of people that are feminine/submissive that are in the casual sex scene. For some reason, some people seem to conflate femininity/submissiveness WITH low n count, but I don’t think these always correlate or line up super perfectly. This thread can be summarised by my post a while ago; that Sex is the most intimate act, two people can share. To which the top reply was; that it was just my opinion. That same commenter, then used the example of being nursed back to health. As a far more intimate act. My retort then was; what objectively, is this the most intimate act two people can share? Nursing one another? Or deep friendship? An alignment in thinking? Mind, body, and soul? Caring for one another?

The primary reason for framing intimacy this way, is to clearly define parameters. Or, as I ran into in my post, can people not define intimacy objectively? Is sharing a meal, objectively on the same level as sharing an orgasm? If intimacy is different, to different people, can we not reach a consensus?

Conversely if sex is ‘just sex’, then are those that view sex in this manner viewing it at it’s most base level? All about ‘the nut?’ Are women who partake in casual sex, being used? Or because they too are getting ‘their nut’, empowered?

Obviously my viewpoint is stated above. Very interested to hear the views of others.

I take sex and my romantic relationships pretty seriously. I don't sleep with a woman unless we're in a relationship and have developed real feelings towards one another. I've had plenty of offers, but I've only been with two women and kissed three, all three of those were in relationships. And I'm near 30 years old now. Honestly, without the emotion and romantic aspect, I just don't have the WANT for sex without love in me. That being said, in a relationship, it's every day. Sometimes, multiple times a day. I love making the person I love feel good. There were times I'd be "giving" sexually without looking to "get" for myself.

I met a girl a little while ago. I started to really like her. We talked all the time, and I could feel myself starting to fall, and obviously, she felt the same way.

Then I found out that she had been in multiple threesomes, had sex with at least 30 people that I'd known about, and very likely more than that. A few friends even let me know they'd slept with her because they could see we were getting close and wanted to be open about it.

I instantly lost any desire to be with her romantically. We could be friends, but the thought of having sex with her became something I had no desire to do.

For me, given that I take sex to seriously and want to reserve it for people I have a special connection with, the thought of just giving it out so freely, as though it's nothing, is very off putting. It means a lot to me, I'd like it to mean a lot to the person I'm having it with also.

But outside of relationships, I don't much care what other people do. If you want to sleep with 10,000 people, go for it. We can still be friends, but that will make you a total non option for me. Which is fine. You shouldn't make decide what who you sleep with based on whether I would be in a relationship with you or not anyway. The same goes for any decision in your life.

It doesn't make you a BAD person, but it does make you someone I wouldn't want to be in love with, and that's okay. You shouldn't live in such a way as to please me.

If you're a person that sleeps with everything with a pulse and wants a partner that has less than 3 people, though, you're insane and I have to roll my eyes at that. It's hypocritical and ridiculous.

Maybe women who use the internet don't care, but I'm yet to meet an IRL woman who doesn't care at all. They just don't ask but that doesn't mean that the details wouldn't bother them. If anything, they don't ask specifically because the details would bother them. Same about the trope of men obsessing over their partner's sexual history. I think in terms of psychology and analysis, n-counts are just horoscopes for boys (and girls). Most of the time any attempts at justifying preferences and icks related to body count are full of holes and assumptions, and the only coherent arguments are put forward by people who essentially just tell you "I want what I want, and I am not obligated to explain myself".

Which is true, but in this case it's unclear what exactly they are trying to obtain by creating this extra layer of selectivity and telling the rest of us about it. If you are not extremely attractive to the opposite sex where you can get away with any sort of discrimination and still have a bunch of desirable people chasing you, rejecting someone just because of their n-count and bragging about it is akin to punching yourself in the face and running around hoping others feel some type of way about it. You won't date a hot girl or a guy because of their body count - they will not be crying for long...
