I can't speak for all men, but for me, lack of discipline and consistency would be a trait which disqualifies a woman for marriage or serious relationships.

If she doesn't seem to be able to stick to anything and rejects established structure, that could be an issue.

Peaceful, fit and fun sounds perfect! Overall though men prefer to feel at peace and will choose that over hyperbolic shifts on an emotional roller coaster.

If I were advising young men about finding a longterm partner I would tell them to avoid a woman who over reacts to being put in an awkward situation, one who is the wet blanket out on public and one who never seems content or satisfied. In short, women high in neuroticism and low in agreeableness and openness.

I discovered these late but some red flags i’d watch for include: very few female friends and too many male friends who are always willing to do her favors. Gives up too soon and is unwilling to try new things.

Getting married is my only goal in life but I’ve never learned how to be wife material, due to my mum being a feminist who taught me that my value isn’t in being someone’s wife. I worry that if I don’t learn how to be or not be wife material by 30 (8 years away), no one else will want me except my boyfriend but even then, we might not get married.

She's right btw. Your value shouldn't be tied to another. You should put value in yourself, before seeking a relationship, let alone marry a partner for life.

There's nothing wrong with being a trad-wife if you want to be one, but if your only focus in life is to be a trad-wife, then I doubt you will have a better time, or even a pleasant time even after you get married to a partner.

Most men nowadays want a sincere partner that treats them like an actual person, not a status or wealth symbol. If you don't tie your self-worth into being a wife, you won't have a problem marrying a guy that you like.

I'm nowhere near looking for marriage right now, but a universal one I've seen between myself and my guy friends is bad hygiene. Men will overlook a lot of flaws, but bad (dental) hygiene is almost unavoidable. It's hard to cuddle someone with bad breath or kiss someone with cavity ridden teeth.

I'll give my generalized consensus on what I think men view as marriage material:

Most important, not a hoe. Men's opinion on what a hoe is varies but if he considers you a hoe, you will always be in the casual category and he will never marry you. I think fundamentally men can't respect women they view as hoes. If there's potential that you fucked one of his friends, it's near impossible to be considered marriage material.
Not entitled: If she acts like she deserves X, deserves Y, deserves Z, we don't bother. Women aren't entitled to anything, you have to earn my love and respect just like I have to earn yours.
Not complacent/lazy: This is the number 1 reason why women get stuck in long term relationships without a ring, why men stay with women for so long before proposing. They want to make sure this woman isn't just going to be a lazy slob as soon as she gets what she wants. And even then, a lot of times it still happens. We're afraid of you letting yourself go just as much as we're afraid of your personality changing over the long term, or effort decreasing. A deadbedroom is just as much of a L as a divorce.
Not argumentative: if living in the home is a constant battle, no man wants to put up with that long term.

Given your profile, I would say in your specific case, just find someone that wants marriage and children. They should talk about it enthusiastically. If they get uncomfortable or change the subject then they aren’t ready or aren’t interested! Many young men will not want to get married until after they turn 30 but could get engaged before hand if they meet the right one.

have zero job prospects
be bad at cooking
be bad at cleaning
be unattractive (diet and exercise are important)
be mean in general (one wrong comment will end up way worse for you than being consistently nice)
have a significantly lower libido than your husband
be mean to your husband’s friends or family (being superficially nice, even if you don’t like them, will help)
be a bad mother
have different religious or parental plans than your husband
have zero hobbies (sharing one with your husband will help him keep interest in you)

The biggest thing to me would be trust and loyalty. Everything else is too much of a personal preference for me to assign it as a rule.

By loyalty, I don't just mean that they don't betray you, but that everything they do is about progress for us. And I think it should go both ways.

I don't care about body counts, poly/monogamy, esthetics or whatever. To me all of that is preferences and interchangeable depending on the people involved in the relationship.

The standard I apply to women is that if I wouldn't be proud for my daughter to grow up to be like her, I'm not interested. If she is, then if she's attractive enough (not a super high bar personally) then I'm probably super interested because it's a relatively small number of women that fit my personal set of values (mostly due to the widespread feminism).

Let's start with peaceful, if men want peace, then being combative and argumentative will be a major turn off. When you hear stories of men going to the bar instead of home or to "get milk" it's because they're avoiding their wives or don't consider their homes a peaceful place.

Fit is self explanatory, so let's focus on feminine next. Opposite of that would be masculine. Masculine traits that could be a turn off for men is being ego driven, bragging about your career too much, or treating things like a competition with your man. Men like women. The aspects of women men learn to like starting from their own mothers is someone who is nurturing and supportive.

As for fun, I think that's subjective because some guys don't care if they're girlfriend is a shy wallflower and some may actually even prefer it if they themselves are more introverted too. I think "fun" here can mean enjoying the other person's company. Like a guy who likes gaming would likely enjoy having a gf whose also into gaming or maybe the couple has fun banter together. A guy can find you fun to be around for numerous reasons. I think a main reason guys avoid women who lead with being feminists is they expect a lot of lecturing on what they're doing wrong or their privileges moving forward, which will be the exact opposite of fun.

IMO, this falls into 3 categories:

Potential for lack of loyalty or not interested in a relationship, but she's fun to hang out, party, or hook up with and you are down for same. Or, alternatvely, is tolerable in small doses but not larger ones ie becomes annoying/clingy/crazy/etc. and as a guy you feel like hanging out for a few hours is fun, but hanging out for a whole weekend is "too much" (fling/situationship material)
Enjoy each other's company and find each other physically attractive but want totally different things in life or live incompatible lifestyles (short term girlfriend material)
Enjoy each other's company and don't find her physically attractive (friends)

There are a lot of things that I could write here as others have written, but it will ultimately depend on the man. I will only say generally that it is my sincere belief that in the end, all relationships are reciprocal.

Because of that, going into marriage each party has to see themselves as part of the same team. You don't have to do everything together, but expecting one-sided treatment "just because" will in the end not be sustainable.

In connection to that, in most men's experience a woman will never expect less of him over time. So a woman who expects a man to chase her from the beginning will never become easier to manage over time.

Similarly, since being a husband is in theory the pinnacle of a relationship, a man will expect that a woman who sees him as her husband will treat him better than any other man she meets before or after him. A woman who treats others better than her husband, relatively speaking, cannot be taken seriously as marriage material.

Obviously it depends on the man so understand this is my personal opinion.

A woman becomes marriage material when I find her attractive and - more importantly - I feel safe around her. Not just safe physically or emotionally, but safe in the sense that I feel like she'd stay and that being with her doesn't feel like taking a risk.

What I mean by that is I want to feel like she won't randomly jump ship or decide that I'm too good for her or something.

I would just relax and let things play out naturally. As long as you're a woman who's relationship material, meaning you've been in relationships, it's really just the guy's decision on whether or not he pops the question. Like, when you were first asked out by your boyfriend, were you thinking about what traits are relationship material and did that contribute to you getting in a relationship with him? Sometimes it's better to relax and see where things go. If you really want to though, you can ask him if he has plans of getting married someday. That might be weird and scary but tell him how you're feeling if you start to be worried that things aren't going in that direction. Maybe a less scary question to ask is how long do you see us being together? If you're afraid of asking that question, it might be a sign that your man is not marriage material and it's not you. Really you should be comfortable to say anything to your partner that you'll be with forever.

Dishonest or can't admit fault. Being able to resolve issues while admitting fault is a huge benefit.

Financially responsible. If you spend more than you earn, or seem like you can't be trusted with money, men aren't going to want to risk their finances with you.

Basically, what matters is that you're reliable enough that a man is willing to risk chaining himself to you, and enjoyable enough to be around that he actually wnats to be.

I actually recently was talking with my people about this girl that I just ghosted randomly and it was like the way I phrased it was she wasn’t wife material but worse than that, she wasn’t even like mistress material, she was literally like ain’t shit. So for a wife to me anyway the way I put it is we need to really click + u gotta get along with my family/friends, have no kids, and u gotta be my peace. Cause I’ve had girls where we really like each other but she just stresses me tf out and it’s like, I can’t have that girl living in my house 24/7. A girl I’m looking at to marry has to be someone that will make me happy to be coming home. Minimal stress, we gotta be in sync like that.

Well being a feminist is a bad way, so its good you already recognized this. As those type can be quite argumentative and masculine. Which a good amount of men don't like. Especially if the man is masculine already.

What can also make a woman not marriage material, is one that doesnt know how to clean themselves. Which means also taking care of their hygiene but this is just normal stuff really. Which most should know to do if they want someone of quality. Unless that isn't what she's looking for.

Another good way is to be a woman who sleeps around a lot or dresses inappropriately, while with their man. So as long as a woman isn't doing all this, then should should be on their way to being successful.

As a worthy man is more likely to consider giving her a ring, if she does this. If not it can still happen of course but the likelihood of a half decent men doing so, will be quite low.
