Honestly, in my circle I never heard women „attacking” men purely for his stature etc. We simply do not care. Also I kinda do not understand this bottom 50 %. I think for every person everyone is different and has different worth.

I think it’s an online thing. I from the other hand see a lot of posts about men saying women are gold diggers and we just want to use men. Im also surprised by that but I do not think 80 % men has that opinion

I think you overestimate how much time women spend thinking about men at all. Let alone a “bottom 50%” who is that?

Personally, I'm pretty indifferent to people (men and women) who rate themselves as unattractive/'bottom 50%' and refuse to do anything about it. If they don't care, why should I? I just opt not to date them.

”Women” doesn’t dislike the bottom 50% of men. Most women would not agree with each other on which men belongs in the top 50% or bottom 50% either.

Mean people are mean. And some of those people happen to be women. There are plenty of people out there who are kind, and treat you with decency no matter if the consider you to be more or less likeable than the average man.

The only man I can remember literally everyone talking shit about was the super creepy guy that called himself wolf man in our college dorm room. Other than that guy most of the time we aren’t even registering most men. They aren’t invisible but neutral. I hope they have happy lives but other than that I don’t think about them at all.

I think online spaces attract the most anxiety ridden inside dwellers across all spectra whether it be gender, race, religion, political views or whatever else. And these people don’t rub their two brain cells together before typing and hitting post on stupid, hypocritical shit.

But irl, it’s pretty different. I was a sorority girl in college(I graduated in the last 4 years) and even there, for the most part, girls just said “I want a guy taller than me” or “I only go out with guys over x height”. It was pretty rare for anyone to be named explicitly. Or for us to make fun of guys just because. Mostly because we got enough attention from men that if we were to ridicule all or even most of them, we simply wouldn’t have the time to do anything else. In college, it was pretty much if we didn’t find a guy attractive or interesting to talk to, we simply didn’t pay attention or engage with them. Were we cold? Definitely. But I don’t think we were mean. If a guy pissed someone off, I have heard “he was not that tall anyway” but I have equally heard “she was not that hot” or the like from guys as well. And I’ve heard that even in regular, nerd circles. I was in STEM and loved research so my social circles were very varied.

Also, you can buy upvotes and views. Not to mention the outrage culture where stuff that is angering is the thing that gets the most attention. And thus the positive stuff tends to be ignored.

The loud minority tends to have influence on the perception of the whole group.

Most don't. Same with guys. Some guys clown on the overweight girls or the insecure girls or the less feminine girls. If you don't want to date them then who cares? People just tend to see their own problems and girls get more attention when they do it for some reason when guys just get lumped into the incel pile which sorta downplays it. But not everyone does this on either side. Sometimes people just suck

Most women aren’t sitting around thinking about the “bottom 50 percent of men.” They don’t hate them, they just don’t notice them. Most people move through the world treating strangers like NPCs, and that’s true for both men and women.

If you judged men by their worst comments online, you’d get a pretty bleak picture too. It’s not a gender thing.

Women aren’t targeting half the male population. Most don’t care enough to bother. They’re living their lives, not thinking about random guys they’ve never met.

i personally dislike the entitled, women-hating ones. nothing against chill people, no matter how attractive or not they are.

i dont bodyshame people, but most times i see it done on men its because they previously did it themselves or said another disrespectful thing. people tend to do it when arguing when one or both have already crossed the line, not randomly out of the blue. it also happens almost exclusively online. still wrong to do it

If every one of us could just accept our looksmatches, we'd all be less lonely. If you won't accept your looksmatch, then you need to work on improving your appearance and other aspects of your life. Applies to men and women. I think it's easier for ugly women since according to stats, men are attracted to a wide range of women compared to the other way around. BUT... I'm wary of the participants and sample sizes used to derive these results. They're not reliable or reproducible worldwide.

Why is the first thing a woman attack a man is for his séxual status? Why are even some of the worst men attacked not for his views but for his stature? Why is bodyshaming men so allowed and openly celebrated

I remember AOC attacking that one male politician for being short (he's 5'10 lol). I guess she took one out of the MAGA playbook to sound edgy, but it seems utterly tone-deaf to say as a leftist who tries to take the higher moral ground in general.

I don't know why women aren't held accountable for these things. People who resort to these types of attacks have no better arguments. I also want to add that men will also support these types of attacks against other men. Whereas women usually will not do the same when it comes to other women, except in rare cases.

When you say that women's first instinct is to attack a man's sexual status - I don't think that's actually what's happening.

I'm not endorsing body shaming in any way. But with any of these posts, you have to remember that men are not the target audience: they are posts created for women. So the message that you're going to take away is not necessarily the intended message nor the same message that the target audience is going to receive.

For example: sometimes these popular posts are "inside jokes." It's just something that you won't intuitively understand unless you have lived life in our society as a girl/woman. There are things that we hear over and over again throughout our lives, and you, as a man are not necessarily going to be aware that we hear this type of feedback constantly. So the joke is taking something that we hear all the time and applying it to a man. And it's not to make fun of the man, is to remind women to not let our own worth be determined by this outside feedback.

I would say most women do not even think about the bottom 50% let alone comment regularly about them. I do think this is an actual problem because the bottom 50% are really struggling in school and employment. This should be an issue for everyone. If we can help the bottom 50 in life, education and career we could help shape better partners.

I don’t hate them. I just don’t want them thinking that they have a chance with me when 10/10’s are also trying to date me and my ex’s are 8-10’s. They always freak out and spiral when you say you’re not interested. Hot men rarely ever act like that and are always composed. Unattractive men seem to act like toddlers when they don’t get their way and it’s gross. It gets them instantly BLOCKED and/or never spoken to again. I’ve been dealing with this since high school. The two hottest guys in school liked ME and every girl liked them. I was cool and nice to everyone though, so some nerds also liked me. A few went insane on Facebook tagging me in posts saying that I was a whore because I had a boyfriend and didn’t want them 😂 I’m 28 now and it still happens to this day!!! Fucking cringe!!!
