This is what happens when younger women are lied to and tricked into believing that the patriarchy's brand of "feminism" which is paying on dates, going 50/50, helping a man build his career or life, lowering your standards, degrading yourself and doing OF/sex work is the right way to go and is "empowering."

Those subs often have a lot of male moderators and more men posting than women. Part of this is because when you post anything feminist on Reddit, especially anything along the lines of true equality the male mods in the “women” subs delete and censor you, and ban you. So, it sounds bad to say but...I'm just not bothered. I'm here because I've dated enough and been in enough relationships to see a pattern in the quality of men on the market. How they manipulate. How they rely on the patriarchy to have their cake and eat it too. FDS didn't really tell me anything new. I think we tend to come here because we already know what's up and the community helps us feel less isolated when talking about the regret we feel over past actions that let men walk all over us. It helps us move forward and away from old behaviors. FDS keeps me on track because it's easy to fall back into old programming. As far as I'm concerned this place is a tool and a community for people that are already over the bullshit. If you think this place is toxic, then by all means continue your life as is. When you have relationship problems I'll smile and nod and tell you to communicate because that's what you want to hear and it's not worth my energy to logic someone out of a position they didn't logic themselves into. My energy is better served on myself and the other women here that want to level up and find partners on their level.

I think the way these men (and women who defend these men) talk about this sub is so telling. He seems upset and personally offended that “men who aren’t HVM are discarded”. Every single time men say something like that — they’re personally offended there’s a group of women that might not be interested in them personally for Reasons and they HATE IT. Men are so invested in women liking them all the time for any reason and despite anything they do. Suddenly a relatively small group by Reddit standards gets together and says “for us, here is what we have noticed as standards to keep us safe and happy” and they just melt down. They take it personally. We’re a group of strangers on Reddit and this guy personally feels victimized by us potentially not seeing him as a HVM and not wanting to date him. Shits wild.
