This is a queen.

Once I went to a low stakes professional mixer after taking a low dose edible. I have a bit of social anxiety, you see.

I made my way up to approach one of the speakers-a woman. I brought her a bottle of water from the stash in the back-my time honored trick for getting a speaker’s attention.

I patiently waited my turn....

And that’s when this old billy scrote guff interrupted me.

Being slightly stoned and really NOT having it, I was able to uncharacteristically detach and just observe what an ass he was and how everyone saw what he did.

He kept catching my eye as he bleated on, trying to get me to acknowledge him as a valid speaker.

The THC enabled me to observe him the way one might inspect a bug pinned in a lab experiment. I bet my slightly unblinking neutral face unnerved him since he started to stumble over his words

Finally I asked a question of the speaker, she turned to me gratefully, he slinked away, and now her company is a very profitable client.

I love this! It’s so true, too. Some scrotes know that no woman actually wants to talk to him, but if he can say something so audacious, that she feels the need to refute it? Well then she’ll have to talk to him. Scrote logic.

I love this so much. There are very few genuine people who come into a tenuous conversation with an opposite opinion in good faith. They don’t want to learn, they don’t want to be challenged, they don’t want to grow. They just want to be validated. By your time, your attention, your energy.

Stop giving attention to duplicitous men. If you try to offer facts to someone spouting opinions, and you realize they aren’t listening, disengage.

Remember, facts don’t care about your feelings. You either believe facts, or believe fiction.

Seriously, do this. "Ok" them, "Yes" them (ironically. But "Ok" is more versatile). You are not "losing". You are not "giving in". What you are doing is declining a request for a conversation like an adult. Remember that the troll can't force you to conversate so he tries to hook you by appealing to your emotions.

Translation of the post: "actually, I think men are more discriminated against against than women are these days." ==> "Requesting your attention."

I remember being in a zoom call, and it was hijacked by trolls who logged into the call and started yelling "TRUMP" this and "TRUMP" that. It was obnoxious.

THe admin closed the room, and re-sent a new zoom invite. Cut them off mid-sentence.

It was a great way to handle it. Nobody reacted. We were all just sitting there, jaw on the floor, for 10 seconds before the call disconnected and the host sent us a new zoom invite

I feel this, I have a coworker that tried to provoke me everyday by saying that women aren't as capable in the IT business. He always tried to talk my supervisor out of giving me the interesting stuff.

At the beginning I tried really hard to prove that I was capable and skilled enough. To no avail. He really strived on my desperate attempts to prove myself.

It took me month and FDS (thank you!) to realize that it was my attention, anger, frustration that he wanted. I still have the image of his slimy smile in my head..

Now I just hit him with "ok" or "alright" and then continue what I was doing, the satisfaction of his disbelief - it was great. Now he leaves me alone as I am not entertaining anymore.

He found a trainee from another department 10 years younger than him that he is now preying on.. This "man" is disgusting in every way Good thing is people start to speak up and complaints are rolling in about him. Time he gets what he deserves

Love this! Best way to respond to that sort of thing because what they want is a reaction and you can’t win by arguing with them, but by not engaging. It’s fun when someone tries to get a reaction out of you but can’t. Either that or simply walking away!
