A lot of times in debates here, men misunderstand what “personality matters” actually means. First, it gets treated as if personality is the only thing that matters. Second, it gets reduced to morality, as if being a “good person” is what guarantees results.

People often fall back on a school model. If you were a “good boy,” you got an A, regardless of everything else. There were clear standards and defined tasks. Real life does not work like that. There is no single set of rules that guarantees an outcome.

Evolution has always favored diversity, because that is what supports survival. Different traits can be useful in different contexts. What consistently matters is effectiveness, especially the ability to navigate social environments, build connections, and access opportunities.

Being moral is not the same as being effective. Morality helps societies function, and without it there would be no stability. But in reality, people operate with different standards, and outcomes are not determined by morality alone. Systems reward what works, not just what is considered good.

This is where social skills come in. A common complaint is that “good guys” are overlooked because they are shy or socially awkward. That may be true. But social ability is not optional. Outside of school, much of success depends on it. It is also essential for attracting attention and forming relationships.

So no, women are not rewarding goodness on its own. That has never been enough by itself. Social ability is a necessary component.

This is not fair, and it was never meant to be. Morality and fairness are social constructs, not guarantees of outcomes.
