This was eye opening. Some key figures and observations.

They took some "average looking" photos of men and women and made fake profiles....then swiped right on everybody.

The results ;

women got between 550 and 700 matches in 4 hrs in a major city.

Men got about 50 and 86 percent of those were other men. So really just 7

Women had about a 10 percent match rate , while men had a .6 percent rate without excluding the fact that only about ten percent of those were women. So for a hetero man about .06 percent match rate if you right swiped every woman. That's a 1 in roughly 2000 chance for a match without being selective at all. Compared to one in ten for women.

This is despite the worst gender ratio being between 4:1 and 9:1

So it's already a cycle that that amplifies the effect of poor gender ratio by many more times than would be fitting. Women get roughly 100 times as many matches.

If you evened the gender ratio, we would still likely be looking at about a 1:500 chance of matching for an average guy without a single standard to speak of.

There are quite a few other implications here but for an average man....it's broken.... basically useless.

I wonder how I get any matches let alone a few dates..guess I'm far enough above average to have better odds.

So...if you get one match per 2000 right swipes and have zero standards, you are average, let's just say you only swipe at your level and above....ignoring distribution, and average is mean, should be about one in 4000 profiles that match w you.

Happy hunting.
