You can't avoid being considered a hate sub. Anyone who isn't enthusiastically bending the knee are considered enemies of the state, which brings with it automatic hate-classification. The trick is to make sure comments and posts in here don't get you on to the quarantined list.

As for AHS, you have a choice, either kill this sub, go post in menslib instead, the "official left wing feminist mens rights sub!" or fight against their lies. The fact that this sub is being used is enough to put you on their hit list.

Try not to buy into the bullshit that AHS put out. Read some of the intro posts from women posting in /r/mensrights, you'll find women receive a very warm welcome there. And there's no obligation to be right wing in MR, so long as you aren't going in flags flying and guns blazing you'll see they have a broad range of posters.

Do you know the notion of guilt by association? It means people will think you're guilty because you agree with some statements or you accept to talk with their ideological enemies. I think, r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates is seen as bad by some people because they're MRAs or pro-MRAs, not because they adopt right-wing ideas.

I’m a leftist and advocate and ally for human rights, men and women. I’m a man and I feel very little is done by way of advocacy for boys and men relative to women and girls, so I tend to spend more of my energy on male advocacy.

I was permanently banned from a sub (not FDS, 2XC, feminism, etc.) but a completely unrelated, non-political sub because I’ve commented on posts in male advocacy subs. Not for what I wrote on the sub I was banned from (I had broken zero of the sub’s rules), or my comments on their flagged other subs, the mere involvement in them they found sufficiently worthy of a permanent ban. They said they are against hate so apparently advocacy for men is hate. Then the mods referred to the subs as incel subs. The irony here is that they are a hateful and anti-male bunch for doing this.

They’re basically trying to silence male advocacy. I wonder how many more subs will follow suit and ban users from their communities simply because they’ve participated in subs like this. It’s kind of crazy that Reddit allows mods to ban community members without having broken any rules on a sub.

Third conflation, respect and equality are NOT the same nor inherent to each other. Feminism fought for equality under the law and social standing. Fourth conflation, to be a woman is to be Feminist.

Another example of "follow me or forever be branded the enemy" strawmaning to recontextualise what it means to be a member of the left before they've even got to the meat of the matter - misogyny. Which, I think everyone can agree, is BAD. Don't do it. Don't let it stand when it occurs. But also don't allow misandry either.

I have an idea... Since social organisation hurts everyone. We should take a look at women's issue and show how it hurt men and women, and vice-versa with men's issues. Some sort of egalitarian perspective. Something that Feminists had struggled to understand is that gender role of men and women are build in antagonism with each other (It's my personal viewpoint). Maybe it's the route we should follow? So we could touch more people and look less "hateful" by accepting more people. Why? Because we're not tooting the horn of the established feminist narrative which means we're a threat to them. It doesn't matter what any of the men's subreddits espouse, we are the enemy by virtue of not following the grain and trying to advocate for our own change that doesn't align with their's. We are men and if we feel anything that's not self-flagellation then it's unacceptable to them. It doesn't matter if we literally say "women belong in the kitchen" or "we think men have an unfair lot in life just like women do".

It's now about retaining power not advancing women's rights for them. Just look at how they go after women that stick up for us, they tear into them even more viciously then they go after us half the time. It's about quashing anything they view as a threat or challenge. They have become the reactionaries trying to maintain their power and grift.

We could be r/MensRights, r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates, or r/MenGetRapedToo. In the end it doesn't matter, we're all the same to a lot of them. We're all potential r/incels.

If the fact we're not as "notorious" is true then it's because they have the bigger target of the main men's rights subreddit to focus on. But don't think they won't want to gut us too.

/r/MensRights is the main men's rights subreddit and has a much larger userbase. But yeah, their userbase is more varied, and their moderation policy more lenient.

MensLib is not a men's rights sub. They are a feminist sub pretending to be interested in men's issues.

But yes, we are starting to get noticed by other subs. It's only to be expected that AHS and other feminist/woke hate subs will try to smear us. We should just stay the course.

Most feminist spaces upvote very blatantly false or sexist posts or propaganda and get 95% approval rate, even 2k+ upvotes on them. It's just like a milder form of FDS if you think about some of the posts. That stuff often gets downvoted on mensrights because most sensible men who post actually care morally if they're being sexist or not, but nobody cares if something is sexist to men. This is the one extremely important point that somehow nobody seems to notice. The amount of "punishment" we give to bias differs by sex so much that feminists can defend "KAM" and call it "male fragility" if you're offended and literally nobody bats an eye. One downvoted comment on mensrights starts a warfare and everyone loses their shit.

Men tend to stop each other on mensrights or downvote, feminism users upvote everything because they don't even feel guilty for being sexist to men, and neither do most people, so there's little reaction and it doesn't get in anyone's radar. Ignore the chunk, complain about the sliver.

I've seen this sub mentioned as a hate group too. The only 'men's rights' sub which isn't mentioned as one is men's lib and that's pretty much because you can't talk about men's rights outside of the feminist narrative of blaming it all on patriarchy and, hence, men. Any mention that feminist ideals or the behaviours of women have impacted men is met with derision and scorn.

what is the issue with Redpill? Cassie Jay didn't do anything wrong. With MGTOW I am okay with being associated with them as a group that turns their anger into constructive action and helps them live a better life personally, and I think the MRA consensus is such.

First thing to not combat this notion is don't give credit to it ourselves. Don't say "we need to be careful", it sounds like we are hiding something, but we aren't. I don't know about everyone, but the MRA leans pretty left, unorthodox left sure, there are more post capitalist types than anti capitalist (which I am personally fine with).

These are the top 5 posts of the day. We have: somebody who’s confused about the notion that men can’t be raped (the horror!), someone correcting a TV show that was spreading the false idea that men have it easier in court than women, someone complaining that 92% of sex-specific scholarships are for women despite more women college graduates than men, someone spreading news of a hateful feminist committing murder, and a post showing support for someone falsely accused of sexual assault. But if you go to the top post this month and sort by controversial there’s probably an angry incel in the comments, hate sub confirmed!

With regards to AHS, they seem slightly power-crazed and have near-0 accountability because AFAIK Reddit’s powermods and admins are in bed with them. The only way AHS will ever be stopped is if they really are doing CP raids, and they get caught very red handed on one of those. In which case we, and everyone else on this site against censorship, will have to strike while we can and publicize the shit out of it, making it a PR nightmare unless Reddit changes its stance.

As for this sub, I think it will stay swell with consistent moderation. But Mods need to write in clear rules like: “no Twitter screenshots”, etc, or at least stick to the ones they have so this sub doesn’t drift the way most do when they get bigger.

Demonizing perceived enemies is the oldest trick in the book. "Well, they aren't REAL left wing people, they are ACKTUALLY right wing!" Like, the variables can change depending on what portion of the spectrum one is on. One may assume for example that being left wing means one must be feminist, since feminism often exists on the left wing spectrum. But there are no hard and fast rules on these issues and one can certainly be left wing and not support feminism.

Us leftwing men rights advocates arent subjects to rightwing propaganda, we have our own experiences and views. If might see eyes with some rightwing men rethoric that's because we've had the same struggles and experiences, guess what a man's experience on being neglected in the sexual violence topic doesnt depends on his political leaning, a man's experience on being neglected by society doesnt depends on his political leaning, a man's experience on being done wrong in court doesnt depends on his political leaning. I love this subreddit but not even close. From any perspective r/MensRights is the main men's rights subreddit. Posts and comments per day, post and comment engagement, total active subscribers, active subscribers, etc. That's OK, organic growth over time will give mods breathing room to deal with the issues related with scaling up.

r/MensRights is... rather notorious. Apparently, there's still an overlap with Redpill and MGTOW. And even if that wasn't the case, the subreddit is still seen as a hate group.

These guys clearly don't like us and try to brand us as "right-wingers in disguise".

We have to reconcile these two statements. The guilt by association and hate group smears were orchestrated by the same people that now use smear tactics to call this sub "right-wingers in disguise". As this sub scales up it too will become 'notorious' and will also be made guilty by association and will also be labeled as a hate group. The only thing that can prevent this is closing up shop entirely and joining r/MensLib .

Stay true to principals, true to the mission statement, identify and engage with advocacy opportunities as a group. Through all the mud slinging, some subset of those exposed will check things out for themselves and that's where outreach opportunities happen.

I'm so glad you guys are here and would contribute on this sub more often. The Men's right sub is much larger since its been around for a while but its moderation is really lack which allows trolls to constantly complain about topics which aren't men's rights issue but rather issue with the individual.

As someone who used to be a large supporter of British left wing party Labour, I kind of lost faith in the left as it become reactionary and has allowed itself to be infiltrated by the far left/Marxists. I think there is some hope with you guys coming over to reddit to reclaim men's rights away from reactionary conservatives. I do see them as allies because I don't want the Men's rights to be busy with infighting so that we can bring real change in the lives of men.

I think we should certainly be careful. I try to be as careful as possible with everything that I say on this subreddit because in truth, criticizing trends in feminism from a non-feminist perspective tends to be considered hate by many left leaning people.

I also think its important to realize that many of those who hate advocates for men are other men and it disturbs me the lengths that some men will go through to appear to take the moral high ground when it comes to denouncing/ignoring the reality of men's issues. Especially when posts by u/TinMenBlog are considered "victimization" slipped in with legitimate issues, I can't help but wonder: "why aren't men allowed to be victims in the first place and why are you uncomfortable with the possibility that there might be social forces that result in poor outcomes for men and disproportionately target men?"

Honestly, I think there is some insecurity there in which the poster just isn't able to reconcile with the possibility that other men might have actual issues that fit the bill of oppression/discrimination and that possibly, there are those who are a lot less fortunate than you are.

Honestly my issue with the MensRights is purely one of quality. It's become a lot of ragebait and lowest common denominator stuff. It used to be a lot better with higher quality posts and discussion.

Though this phenomenon is hardly unique to MensRights, any subreddit (or any community) really tends to degrade in quality as size and exposure grows. To be clear, there are still good posts on MensRights, they're just harder to find as you have to sift through large amounts of rubbish to find it, which isn't worth the effort.

I do wonder if people saying MensRights as becoming more rightwing isn't, at least partly, because of how they perceive this quality decline, rather than an actual large shift rightwards.

Are we really advocating for actual rights though? I can think of maybe one or two actual rights that I believe should be given, but the rest of what I focus on--and a lot of other people talk about here--mainly has to do with cultural perceptions. Things like gender stereotypes, roles, norms, double standards about men, etc. These types of issues can't be formalized as a legal right or anything.

So I certainly don't think of myself as a mens rights advocate, I'm not missing any rights that I think I need. There are others on this sub though that have had things happen to them like being raped and not getting it taken seriously, etc., so perhaps you could call me lucky and I might not be the best representative of that.

But that's not really the point, the point is the association of us to other manosphere groups that espouse toxicity or right-wing ideas. To which my best reply is that, we can only hope by pointing out how that's not the case, proving it with our words, and how the accusations are baseless, people will see the truth. But that's not something we can really control, can we? Feminist groups will say whatever they want to say. Perhaps that is a bit defeatist, but there it is.

Its a bit disheartening, but I don't think this place will end up becoming like the MensRights subreddit group. Its a lot more wholesome, engaging and less women-blaming than the former group. Its actually pretty focused on real issues that men have institutionally and socially.

Though I think the mod team could do better in taking a harsher stance against people who are pro-life/traditionalist on the subreddit.

MensLib imo, is getting a lot better. Sure it brands itself as a feminist sub, but the community is getting so so so much better in terms of realizing the ways men are discriminated and disenfranchised on a systemic level.

Shut down racist rhetoric that pops up on here.

There is one user here that I've flared because of constant dog whistling. He's an extremely active poster. Comments like "black women especially like to be victims as a profession" is just blatantly racist. In the same breath classifying whites as an oppressed ethnicity and disappearing class. Like, I see comments like this upvoted all the time.

It doesn't surprise me that there is blatant misogyny on here, and I kinda get it. It's a ranting space for men. But putting "women" after X ethnicity, doesn't make the statement any less racist. Seriously, you need to shut down any notion that white genocide is real thing, or AHSR has a point.

Also, being upset because Biden had a moment where he acknowledged our first female VP. That's a big historic moment and having threads full of men upset by the simple acknowledgement is not a good look. None of those discussions helped men. It was just a shit on women fest. It wasn't constructive, and mirrored some of the "women are useless and shouldn't be heard" sentiments I saw on the early MRA boards in the 2000's.

Move the fuck away from that.

I'm new on this sub (it's been a couple of months or so) and the things that keep me cringing here are posts that seems to portrait men as the victim. That's as wrong an approach as it is the feminists rhetoric of the oppressed woman. If we want real equality, we need an egalitarian approach.

What makes me mad about most feminists' claims is that it always looks like men profit from what they call patriarchy and completely ignore the fact that no, that's bad for us too (and that's why it makes no sense to call it a patriarchy).

We must do what they don't, we need to be a good example and talk about men's issues without victimizing men or blaming feminism as if it was some big evil monster that wants to eat us all

I am not a 'rightwinger' but there are a cohort of people who consider people to the left of Karl Marx as "right -adjacent' if they don't buy into the CRT hocus pocus and other rhetorical tomfoolery. Maybe I'm right wing and don't even know it!
