But now the precedent has been set. If they dont fire her then they can't fire a man for dressing the same.

Then they could take it to court

And lose, because the courts are rediculously biased against men.

I was on a jury one time on a trial of sexual harassment. I am a man. It was a woman claiming a man touched her. I thought something happened, but not as the witnesses described because there were very few details.

When we went to the jury room to discuss, we first went round and asked who thought he was guilty and who not. Out of the 12 of us, two were undecided and I was the only one saying not guilty. I had the argument about switching sexes etc. and not to be sexist. In the end I managed to persuade all but two of them that he was not guilty. One of the people who thought he was guilty was an older woman saying "no one would ever be able to prove rape"

[–]Hand_Sanitizer3000 105 points106 points107 points 8 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

"no one would ever be able to prove rape" its frightening that the freedom and life of a possibly innocent man can be decided by someone with type of mentality

[–]AKnightAlone 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Let's not exclude the the other side of the coin. Rape is a frightening idea, and it's also frightening how difficult it would be to prove. It's an all-around scary situation for people involved.

[–]Valencia_Mariana25 points 8 years ago* [recovered] (3 children) | Copy Link

But to say, "we can never prove it" thus everyone man accused is guilty?

[–]Spifffyy 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That was exactly the point I made. It wasn't a rape case anyway. We had witnesses in our case, which doesn't always happen with rape.

My main argument against her was "innocent until proven guilty". I didn't think there was enough evidence to prove, without a shadow of a doubt, that the guy touched this woman sexually. Like I said, I thought maybe something happened, but maybe not what was being claimed. If there is not enough evidence, you have to go with the not guilty verdict. That's the law after all.

[–]Kitnado 36 points37 points38 points 8 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

You should watch 12 Angry Men if you haven't yet. It's already one of the best movies ever made without you having a personal connection to its story line.

[–]Spifffyy 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

He was found not guilty

[–]Collective82 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If there’s no consensus, the charged person usually goes free on a hung jury.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You could have just saved the youth of an innocent man. Good work.

[–]2cats2hats 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Your story is a PRIME example on people smart enough to know how to avoid jury duty should be involved.

Every time I see some asshole life tip on how to get out of jury duty I point a scenario like yours out.

[–]mwobuddy 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

One of the people who thought he was guilty was an older woman saying "no one would ever be able to prove rape"

Which is completely, 100% true. Even the old vesion of proof of rape which is "show of force/resistance" could look like BDSM or rough sex in today's society. Thus proof of rape is incredibly difficult in reality. Because it ALWAYS comes down to he said/she said, and eyewitness testimony is so shitty that no one should believe it, yet we have done so and continue to consider such testimony as evidence, especially if the eyewitness is also the supposed victim.

Could we get a source that this is a teacher?

Looks young enough to be a student...the gowns on the people behind her make me think she wore this to graduation?

[–][deleted] 167 points168 points169 points 8 years ago* (4 children) | Copy Link

Those gowns aren't graduation gowns, they're scholar gowns worn by staff to formals. It looks like a senior common room event.

Edit: obviously, it's worth noting the ridiculousness of her doing this at an event where all people are required to wear what's known as sub-fusc, which is particularly restricting for men at this time of year while women can wear light dresses under their gowns. Unless, of course, this is more for herself rather than gender equality...

[–]B4_da_rapture_repent 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

How would anybody know or care about what a man was wearing under his robe?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It doesn't cover the front of your torso. They would care because there's a dress code.

[–]ardvarkcum 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Not worn by staff, a scholars gown is an award for a student who gets a first also.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes, the scholar's gown is worth by both academic staff and students who achieve firsts, thanks for that correction.

Whole lot of complete acceptance for face value, still to find anything even remotely resembling a source. More than happy to call complete BS on this. You'd think some media outlet would at least mention it, Daily Mail at the very least would be having a field day with it, but nothing.

literally look at her twitter or wikipedia pages. It says it right on them that she's a fellow in economics at Cambridge.

[–]antilopes 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

DM is a Murdoch paper, he would absolutely hate her politics. But that is not the reason.

DM is all about sexualised women, there are one or two dozen in the sidebar on every story regardless of subject. More importantly there are hardly any non-sexualised women on display unless they are in some other way fit for tabloid drama.

Non-sexualised nudity is an unspeakable crime in the DM's world, so they don't speak of it.

[–]digitalpizza3 points 8 years ago* [recovered] (3 children) | Copy Link

This sub has no doxxing rules so how can you source it.

Do your own research.

[–]Hannyu 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Does it count as doxxing if they're a public figure (such as a college professor) so long as you aren't sharing personal contact info, ie home address, personal email, non work phone numbers?

[–]Troll1973 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Posting a source is not doxxing, you asshat.

[–]helpwanted911 54 points55 points56 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Economics huh? Hmmm, I wonder what her nuanced and empirically-robust thoughts on the wage gap are xD

[–][deleted] 15 points16 points17 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If you want to know her opinion on Brexit, it was written on her breasts during a faculty meeting used to discuss the syllabus for next year.

She's not a fan.

[–]Arkhaine_kupo 35 points36 points37 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Cambridge economics is the highest grossing per career choice you can make in the uk.

http://www.theweek.co.uk/94323/which-degrees-boost-graduate-salaries-the-most

So I assume her opinion ok the wage gap regardless of what it is, would be hypocritical when she is making 30k more than the average college educated brit.

[–][deleted] 22 points23 points24 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

From her previous "naked stunt" in 2016: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/education/2016/07/01/naked-don-a-cambridge-academics-protest-against-brexit/

There's a picture of her so you know it's the same person, and it states she's faculty.

[–]5th_Law_of_Robotics 18 points19 points20 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

So she's just an exhibitionist using her religion as a justification.

[–]UncleTogie 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

.so you don't care for flashy preachers...?

[–]crnext 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It is. Google image Victoria N. Bateman (subject in photo). I put in the effort to find this post on Chrome (mobile) then get it to open without opening the Reddit app, then long press to open the image in a new tab, then long press that to search Google for this image, then read through a number of different sightings before finding her name.

Ill probably find lower where this was already done. She is a controversy lusting feminist.

That aside, I'd hiddit...

Strange how she favors Ellie Kemper kinda in the above photo.

[–]Kaigamer 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Could we get a source that this is a teacher?

Her wikipedia page. Her twitter. I'd link them, but I don't know if that'd breach the "no doxxing" rule here.

[–][deleted] 204 points205 points206 points 8 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

How long before we hear she has an exhibition fetish?

[–]Houdiniman111 86 points87 points88 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

[–][deleted] 20 points21 points22 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]DAVENP0RT 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I've been married for one year. We do it at least twice a week, but some weeks we get into a mood and have sex twice a day for a few days in a row. After that, we're so tired and sore that we have to take a break.

By the way, put two spaces after each line to get a single line break.

[–]ohbarryoh 59 points60 points61 points 8 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

It's mostly a joke. Majority of married guys keep an active sex life with their partner. Work schedules and kids put a damper on it but they still get laid regularly. Don't be afraid to find that person that makes you happy.

[–]alecesne 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's sort of a joke. You get some sex. Work and infants can be major cockblocks. "Regularly" might be once a week. Just make sure you like the same food.

[–]Dinner_Plate_Nipples 13 points14 points15 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

If you marry someone attractive and both push each other to stay in very good shape then the sex will continue. If you settle and get lazy then the sex will dwindle (DISCLAIMER: only been married for a couple years, been together nine years, and this is just my best anecdotal advice).

[–]PIG_CUNT 15 points16 points17 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It is illegal there in a case like this.

At the beach there, where the intent isn't to shock anyone or cause dismay, it's legal.

[–][deleted] 56 points57 points58 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

It's the UK, public nudity isn't illegal in the same way. This is not breaking the law, but it is what I'd consider a firing offence.

[–][deleted] 19 points20 points21 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Still can fall under the Outraging Public Decency ;-)

[–]loki2002 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is Cambridge and in the UK it is my understanding that anywhere a man can be topless a woman can be unless it can be shown she did so for sexual gratification purposes.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Europe has a much more liberal than USA when it comes to nudity, that being said I don't imagine many workplaces would allow this.

[–][deleted] 20 points21 points22 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Cambridge is closer to a private university than a public one and I assume their campuses are considered private. Also nudity laws are a lot less strict in the UK than the US (our Puritan roots strike again!)

[–]abusmakk[🍰] 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Even if the university is private it will be considered a public place due to the amount of people that have access to it.

That’s not how the law works in the UK

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm not 100% sure on that... It depends on the reason of nudity, place, and time. I mean, for example... Stephen Gough.

[–]hexagon-173 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

100% would of done the same.

[–]seraph85 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

In many places, even in the US nudity is only illegal if it's sexual in nature.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

That statement is factually wrong and I've already posted a link of per state laws in this post. Don't make factually wrong statements.

[–]seraph85 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

The indecent exposure statute requires proof that a person acted “willfully and lewdly,” only applies when a defendant intends to arouse the self or another person. https://law.justia.com/cases/california/court-of-appeal/4th/85/937.html

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

You do realize that's only California and there's like, I dunno, about 49 other states with varying opinions? Public indecency is not 100% tied to sex, sorry.

[–]seraph85 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Same for Texas.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

https://statelaws.findlaw.com/oregon-law/oregon-indecent-exposure-laws.html

In Oregon, anyone can say "I was annoyed" and boom it's public indecency to expose yourself. A lot of states have that sort of catch-all in one form or another.

  • Maine: https://statelaws.findlaw.com/maine-law/maine-indecent-exposure-laws.html
  • Georgia (even stricter): https://statelaws.findlaw.com/georgia-law/georgia-indecent-exposure-laws.html
  • Alabama: https://codes.findlaw.com/al/title-13a-criminal-code/al-code-sect-13a-6-68.html
  • Montana: https://leg.mt.gov/bills/mca/title_0450/chapter_0050/part_0050/section_0040/0450-0050-0050-0040.html

There are catch-all's for everything that isn't sexual in most states, sorry, but that's how 'public indecency' works. You can't just walk down the streets of a town naked in more places than not without being arrested. More than not, a topless woman would fall under these and be reported, arrested, or at minimal ticketed/fined.

[–]seraph85 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Sure but in places in the US it isn't illegal that's my point.

[–]armed_renegade 97 points98 points99 points 8 years ago (29 children) | Copy Link

Indecent exposure.... Just like you can't wear see through speedos.

[–]realvmouse 59 points60 points61 points 8 years ago (26 children) | Copy Link

In many cases "indecent exposure" charges require that you be exposing yourself in order to gain sexual gratification. Generally there aren't many state or federal laws against nudity.

However, many counties/municipalities have their own anti-nudity ordinances, and many police aren't going to make that fine distinction and instead will respond to a complaint and leave it to the courts to sort out.

But in many places, there is actually no law against nudity, and indecent exposure laws wouldn't cover nudity as part of art, a political statement, or a lifestyle choice.

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points11 points 8 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

She's basically just topless. Totally legal for a man, or a woman (in many places). That's equal rights.

Totally inappropriate for work, but the fact that so many people think she should be arrested for what amounts to a dude walking around in underwear sort of proves her point.

The fact that so many people have suggested/upvoted her being arrested is really disappointing

[–]sweet-banana-tea 22 points23 points24 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Idk I can see a male teacher being fired for teaching while only wearing underwear.

[–]BlueOrange22 64 points65 points66 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I agree with not being arrested, but the university should have the right to have security remove her from the grounds. A male professor showing up shirtless would also be unprofessional by conventional standards and should definitely be removed. It’s cambridge, even flip flops are inappropriate in that scenario.

[–]bbshkya 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It’s cambridge, even flip flops are inappropriate in that scenario.

You'd be surprised at the way both students and teachers dress. Went to visit a friend there and that^ looks like drinks before/after a formal dinner at one of the colleges - only the college's students and their invited guests can go (booking in advance) and he said that gowns are not really worn for any other events (apart from graduation). She's definitely not teaching in that^ occasion.

[–][deleted] 16 points17 points18 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think the shock factor is that a well educated, tenured professor see's nothing wrong with her behavior, in a school/workplace setting.

She should be fired more than arrested. Immediately.

We are now at a 0 tolerance policy in the workplace these days. I actually think that's ok, as long as the application of the rules is equal among all races/sexes.

[–]dingoperson2 81 points82 points83 points 8 years ago (24 children) | Copy Link

Women's breasts are sexual, and considered sexual by the legal system, and by women themselves whenever it benefits them. That point completely defeats your false analogy.

If a woman touches my elbow, she can't be charged with sexual assault. If I touch a woman's breasts, I can.

Feminists would never campaign to change that, because they want breasts to be sexual when it benefits them and nonsexual when it benefits them, basically psychopathic hypocrites.

[–]MaliciousLingerer 7 points8 points9 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I think the Supreme Court decided recently that toplessness was only illegal if you rub your nipples. I remember Ruth Bader Ginsburg demonstrating the difference between legal vs illegal toplessness, one of the Supreme Court’s most fappable moment IMHO.

[–]smellslikebadussy 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If rubbing one out to David Souter is wrong, I don’t want to be right.

[–]Lurkay1 32 points33 points34 points 8 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

If toplessness is now legal, then it is no longer considered sexual by the legal system. Ever look at tribes in Africa and in the Amazon? The women there don’t consider breasts to be sexual. Even in “western” Europe toplessness is considered less taboo and you see it a lot at beaches. Also, if you grope a woman’s buttocks or waist it’s sexual assault. Yet buttcheecks or hips aren’t inherently sexual by themselves. I think this action by itself isn’t illegal, but it’s still a violation of work dress code and she should be disciplined.

[–]Dancing_Anatolia 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Aren't butts inherently sexual? I believe that it's some evolutionary hold out from some apes who use their butts as a mating signal.

[–]Kinbaku_enthusiast 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Butt and hips are, inherently sexual though. Hip to waist ratio is one of the defining sexual selection criteria for men.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

> If toplessness is now legal, then it is no longer considered sexual by the legal system.

Look saying something doesn't magically make it true. And frankly, not only are you wrong, but it *shouldn't* be true either. All of your arguments about different cultures are completely irrelevant. We aren't a tribe in Africa and our culture is different. There, tits aren't sexual. Here, they are. Demonstrably so. I don't think it matters that a few select feminists here and there have no problem being topless. The fact remains that the vast majority of women and men see breasts as a sexual body part and the vast majority of women would experience being groped there as sexual assault and would suffer the consequences of experiencing sexual assault, and have no protections whatsoever. If it's illegal for a woman to have her vagina out or a man to have his dick out at work because it's disturbing to their coworkers then she absolutely has done something illegal. So she has.

Your next points don't really make sense to me. You first contradict yourself in one and the next you state the obvious truth that people get used to whatever they see a lot, which doesn't do anything for your argument because if people saw dick all the time they'd get just as used to it, or vagina. Or really, anything else that exists. That's just how the human brain works.

I mean it's like you've decided that since something is a law, it must be magically correct and infallible. I hope I don't end up needing to explain the problem with this.

[–]Lurkay1 8 points9 points10 points 8 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

I’m not just “saying” because it’s legal, it’s no longer sexual. Like I said, grabbing other body parts besides the genitals (e.g ass, thighs, hips, midsection) can be considered sexual assault by law, as it should be. Because no woman should be grabbed on their body anywhere by a pervert.

And your point of if they saw penis/vagina all the time they will get used to it is flawed. Because again, you are equating penis/vagina with breasts which is an erroneous thing to do. Because penis/vagina can only be equated with, well, vagina/penis which are the reproductive organs. It’s important that you understand that specific distinction. Which is why many tribes will still cover up their genitals with traditional garments or leaves. And why women still wear bikini bottoms and men still wear speedos/shorts in regular European (western) beaches.

Edit: removed an extra “by” in the last sentence of the first paragraph.

[–]LuvBeer 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If you touch me in a way that is inappropriate that is assault. Sure if I bump you it's no big deal, if you bump a woman's breast it shouldn't be a big deal. Now if you grab my arm and squeeze it, that's assault. If you grab a woman's breast and squeeze it, it is still assault.

[–]FaudPomDig 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

No that's not guts. If men had guts they would get an equal fetish outfit and work with this woman to show that objectification of men and women is wrong. Women get raped. So do men. Both suffer issues and its tiring people not working together.

If men had guts they would dig deep, get past the superficial emotions anf rationally see there is nothing inherently wrong with nudity. They would simply think and behave better than rad fems and just ignore the attention seeking stripper.

If men were little bitches with no guts they'd get their phone out and call the police. She would get in the news for being an oppressed woman, giving radfems even more power setting back equal rights. Luckily Cambridge seem to train the future elite in rational thought though.

The system is appalling, yes. But what will arresting her do for mens rights? Nothing at the very best. Smart people take whatever they're given and turn it to their advantage. At this point the rad fems are leaving lib fems and men in the dirt.

This would have been a perfect opportunity for the libfem and equal rights movements to make a point., band together and show unity. Instead 2x and Incels just want to hate, there is no intention of trying to fix anything here, just brutish dark age thinking.

How can you get more rights if all you want to do is take rights away from others?! You want to see your kids? Show you're rational, not emotional. Times are bad, yes. But if we are to work this all out it must be together. Less division. More unity. More understanding and compassion.

Bad people do and always will exist. That small radfem population should not be what we aspire our behaviour to become. Some say fight fire with fire... But they forget we can often fight it much more effectively with water.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Haven't you noticed that problems women experience are taken seriously? And ones that affect men are not? Forcing the same inconveniences on women is a legitimate strategy to bring about positive social change whether you agree with the ethics of doing so or not. See how long the military draft will last if women have to register for it.

[–]WeHaveIgnition 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Most states dont have indecent exposure laws. Most states its legal to be naked in public, but other laws cover if the intent of the nudity is to cause harm. This person could be arrested for causing a disturbance or something like that. Alternatively, there is a mentally ill man in my neighborhood that rides his bike naked when he's having an episode. The police are called and he given a ride home, or to the hospital but never charged.

Dude, that's a little more than topless. She's at the legal minimum requirement to not get indecent exposure charges - she's not even coveribg what panties would, just the absolutly essential area. I don't want to know how much of her rear is on display but I think most of the cheeks but none of the crack is a safe bet.

So yeah, if a guy showed up to a formal event wearing something that is completely sheer everywhere but the groin and butt, he'd probably be labelled a pervert.

This makes it hard to communicate with deaf people.
Edit: I am sure many have been reported already for making ''rude and vulgar gestures'', and ''sexually suggestive grunting noises''.
It might be happening daily at this point.
Here's some lynching style history, for some perspective on ''unwanted touching'' of females, and the ruination of a deaf guy.
''his family had packed him off to the N.C. Colored School for the Blind and Deaf in Raleigh. What happened next can only fit the title that biographers Susan Burch and Hannah Joyner picked for their new book: Unspeakable.

In the late 1800s, the Raleigh school had been a progressive institution. By the time young Junius arrived, though, its administration was in the hands of white segregationists who de-emphasized sign language and assumed that vocational training, rather than book learning, was what deaf black boys needed.

As a result, Wilson couldn’t express himself in writing, much beyond spelling out his name and his mother’s name. He “talked,” moreover, in “Raleigh” sign language, a kind of dialect largely made up by the students themselves. Around the school, that was enough, but people trained in standard American Sign Language couldn’t understand what he was saying.

By 1924, when Wilson was expelled from the school (for going AWOL and staying too long at Raleigh’s Negro State Fair), he was like a puppy thrown to the sharks. Back in Castle Hayne, his deafness isolated him. His usual means of communicating - touching, shoulder-tapping, moving in closely to read lips - were likely to be fatally misunderstood.

Within a year, Wilson was arrested and charged with attempted rape. All available evidence suggests the charge was false; Burch and Joyner suggest it might have arisen from a neighborhood dispute. In any event, the New Hanover County courts did not take kindly in the 1920s to an accused African-American teenager - especially one who seemed to speak gibberish and made incomprehensible hand gestures.

Wilson, of course, had no lawyer. An all-white jury found him insane, and a judge ordered him committed to an indefinite term at the State Hospital for the Colored Insane in Goldsboro.''

To this day, white and black people have seperate sign languages. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_American_Sign_Language

Not exactly a model for physical health either. All this "women are beautiful no matter what" bullshit is a public health travesty. If you are underweight or overweight, you are neither healthy or beautiful, but you have the ability to change that; this normalization of unhealthy lifestyles is beyond delusion, it's toxic and enabling.

[–]UsernameWasInUse 62 points63 points64 points 8 years ago (100 children) | Copy Link

[–]pumpkinsnice 31 points32 points33 points 8 years ago (83 children) | Copy Link

Edit: Decided to dig deeper as i wanted to find a news story. Turns out its worse, she's a lecturer for economics at gonvile and caius college and cambridge university in the UK and is batshit crazy with a doctorate as she turn up naked to appose brexit but still not a mensrights issue as she is just another nut job.

Removed: search results found before my edit said she was a student, found out after she is a lecturer so fixed this

Ok added a TL;DR, this is my first so hope it's adequate. Let me know if it needs a changes.

TL;DR this is a lecturer with a doctorate in economics and a feminist. This photo is from her supervisors dinner at cambridge university UK. She posted this online and was called out for it. She staged a naked protest on brexit at a meeting at the faculty of economics which was to discuss studies and teaching material infront of the director of studies for all university colleges, for the whole meeting. Everyone ignored her and carried on. Just batshit crazy. Not a mensrights issue.

[–]Kinbaku_enthusiast 34 points35 points36 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

The title may have taken some liberties, but is not quintessentially wrong.

  1. Doublestandards at play.
  2. She is a feminist and it is at her place of work
  3. Where something was posted before, does not negate it.

So its good you did some factfinding.

Was she fired for doing this "batshit crazy"? I am practically certain the answer is no. Meanwhile this post gets marked nsfwthe because men might get fired just from looking at it . You don't see the double standards?

[–]OverWorkedCorpse 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

I see the double standards but people in academia is full of scandal any way which is far worse, this is low hanging fruit. Batshit crazy feminists always try to out do themselves which results in them crashing and burning. People will no longer want to work with her due to fear of their on careers being affected.

I did even more research and this was about abortions rights and contraceptions recently in ireland. She was even asked how she would react if a male colleague did the same, guess what, she would support it. Aswell as this i found that this was also done for a public non student lecture about the history of feminism where she was accompanied with her male collegue who was naked and had his genitals on display.

(Edit: this part is what i can find on her social media that another commenter had with her so take with a pinch of salt as when running a google search the majority of results are about the brexit stunt)

Although her methods are inappropriate and batshit crazy still not a mensright issue as she hasn't gone against mens rights so far but has used doublestandards for her own agendas but so far in this latest one pictured, to grab attention to a stupid archaic law in ireland.

Edit: updated about what i can find so far

[–]Kinbaku_enthusiast 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Politics is downstream from culture. So is justice.

I don't think you can build a more just world without putting cultural injustice at display. And when it comes down to it lowhanging fruit still tastes good.

Every day someone new may wander into this subis and ask themselves for the first time: why does this double standard exist?

Not to detract from your factfinding, that seems great. Good for you and thank you. I just don't agree with your point that this kind of point would be worthless to make.

You may know how batshit feminist academia is. Many people don't. There is great value in showing that the empress doesn't wear clothes, shall we say.

[–]Echoes_of_Screams 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2003/42/pdfs/ukpga_20030042_en.pdf

Exposure

(1) A person commits an offence if—

(a) he intentionally exposes his genitals, and

(b) he intends that someone will see them and be caused alarm or distress.

(2) A person guilty of an offence under this section is liable—

(a) on summary conviction, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 6 months or a fine not exceeding the statutory maximum or both;

(b) on conviction on indictment, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 2 years.

It also can also be punished there as "disorderly behaviour" under the Public Order Act 1986.

Tell it to law enforcement in the UK. They regard them as genitals under these laws.

[–]MZ603 8 points9 points10 points 8 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, no, it's not illegal. Ireland is much stricter. My impression is that she is just exercising her right to go nude. I'm not saying it's not trashy, but it's not illegal. My friend is a solicitor in Newcastle - I'll run it by him but I doubt anyone would be arrested for this.

[–]PIG_CUNT -2 points-1 points0 points 8 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

It IS illegal, if the officer decides she intended it to shock or dismay anyone.

I didn't say she WOULD be arrested for this.

I correctly said she COULD be found to be breaking the law if the officer believes her intention was to shock or cause someone dismay.

You can ask a solicitor but you're better off asking a cop, or better yet, more than one.

If you think you've found some way to win an internet argument so you can get some good emotions from it, please let me know, so I can pity you.

[–]tricks_23 7 points8 points9 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ex UK cop here, breasts aren't classed as genitals so this wouldn't be classed as a sexual offence. However, it would be an offence under S.5 Public Order Act 1986 of causing harassment, alarm or distress.

John Terry was arrested and interviewed for a 3rd party reporting him allegedly using derogatory language on a football pitch. There's nothing wrong with reporting this person for causing harassment alarm and distress. How far they'd take the complaint is another thing.

[–]MZ603 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago* (5 children) | Copy Link

Tits still aren't genitals. Arrest maybe, charges, probably not.

Edit: I can't find any instance where a woman was arrested for being topless. In fact, topless protesting is pretty common in the UK and it is pretty clear that the purpose is to cause shock. Genitals are genitals and tits are not genitals.

[–]Beddall 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Can people STOP giving women power in this way?

Just because she has written "My body" and "My choice" and especially the latter on her own body, doesn't mean she is some sort of god among humans.

It's your choice to show up 95% naked. It doesn't mean it's a good one. It doesn't mean people should see you that way. It doesn't mean the law doesn't apply to you automatically because you wrote on your body "My Choice".

Christ. If your insecurities are so big that you must do this. You aren't strong. Wanna know why? If a man pushed out his ballsack and covered it in a 80% transparent material, he wouldn't be considered "smart" "powerful" "brave" or "independent". He'd be considered a straight up retarded person. [–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

My issue with it is that she is at work. Out in public, she can do whatever, but it's incredibly unprofessional to do that at work. And a man would likely get in trouble if he walked around in his underwear. Also, if I saw a man walking around with only a bit of fabric over his penis, I'd say he should put some clothes on too.

Ok, serious question: how much longer do we have to wait before this cult has become so regressive and cancerous that they just start showing up naked and shitting on everything as they turn into the babies they clearly want to be? It's infantile regression, all I want to know is when does it reach the logical conclusion?

What exactly is the message?

It’s my choice to show people my naked body in public?

Is this what the ‘fight for women’s rights’ has come to?

They’re so bored having nothing to fight for that they just want to be naked in public?

How many men would object to that

Naked bitches everywhere lmfao

Stupid fucking feminists

[–]KingRobotPrince 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What exactly is the message?

"I am mentally ill. Please help me."

Actually, I think it's more of a "clothes are oppression, don't sexualise my body" type thing. It's total horseshit, of course. All humans wear clothes, men and women.

Sexualisation of the human body is perfectly natural, male and female. It's just a feminist thing to try and manufacture oppression to give them power.

Focusing solely on women's bodies perpetuates the idea that female sexuality in benign while male sexuality is evil and predatory. If a woman dresses like this she is neutral but if a man dresses like this he is attacking.

[–]KingRobotPrince 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No. If you want to be out in public, you follow society's rules.

Stupid, selfish moron.

I hope that feminists keep doing ludicrous things such as this. The more they do it, the more their absurdity will be revealed.

This is the definition of an attention-whore. You know in college she was the one always telling everyone loudly how drunk she is while doing handstands so her skirt would fall down and show off her butt.

I doubt she's a very political person, and this is probably just an excuse to get people to pay attention to her again, which is probably getting more and more difficult as she ages. Its what untalented narcissists have to resort to.

[–]pretzelzetzel 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]CoconutCreamer 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Is there an article about this?

[–]alexslacks 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I believe this post is to further an agenda.

Majority of Reddit users are from the US. In the US there are many states and places where it is legal for a woman to be topless in public. You don't see it normally because of social taboo, but it wouldn't be illegal. Technically a man not wearing a shirt at his desk in an office is not illegal, but general company bylaws and policy would most likely result in reprimands or termination, and 100% of the time in these scenarios women would be treated equally.

The reason I explain this is because I would like to clear up any confusion that this title is very very inaccurate in the US. I would also be very curious to see analytics of upvotes vs region on this.

Finally, before the whole 'u wong it says Cambridge in title u stupid', there are Cambridges in the US too, and a lot of users upvote based on post titles.

For those who don't know, Cambridge University is in the UK and they have different laws for this kind of stuff.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Women already enjoy a double standard of flouting work dress codes. Men have to at least wear trousers and a shirt if not the full suit where women think it’s some challenge to see what casual attire they can get away with. This is especially bad in education where I’ve seen female educators just in yoga pants and a tshirt leading a class.

[–]ImGoingToTroll 10 points11 points12 points 8 years ago (24 children) | Copy Link

Not even if i was drunk, drugged with a 20 year dry spell, would i put my dick in that thing.

[–]FeierInMeinHose 51 points52 points53 points 8 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

Really? She’s pretty average looking. Not hot or anything, but not ugly.

[–][deleted] 61 points62 points63 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

[–]SlyteX13 11 points12 points13 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You never. promise. crazy. a. baby.

[–][deleted] 18 points19 points20 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

That crazy though....

[–]FeierInMeinHose 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yeah, but generally your crazometer starts going on the fritz after a couple of drinks, and by the time you're drunk it's so inaccurate that it might as well be nonexistent. The "not even drunk, drugged" part thus implies that she's also ugly, which she isn't.

[–]ImGoingToTroll 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Nope it implies that her mind frame is beyond repair and id never stoop to being with an other feminazi i learned my lesson.

[–]ImGoingToTroll 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The amount of brain dead she displays is enough for me to steer away.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Put your hand over the face and she's got a good hip-waist ratio with decent tits.

Though the face is a 2-4 and brain is a -7

[–]PIG_CUNT 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

One might guess he's talking about the potential for rape accusation.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She's not average looking. I don't support body shaming. I definitely think fat people should get healthier BUT I don't support body shaming. But this woman has quite a bit of body fat on her.

Take a look at this image

By this standard you can see this woman is about 35-40% body fat. That's fat. If you look up what that means clinically, it's solidly between the "heavily overweight" and "obese" range.

That chick is not sexy. She's not fit. She's not healthy. It's not wrong to say so or to think it or to feel it.

That said. It's not a reason to hate on her as some have done. But nudity doesn't inherently demand either sexualization OR masturbation. That only plays into their hands proving that men are the binary reactionary thoughtless creatures they assert we are.

A great way to circumvent that is to just have some standards. Perfectly reasonable standards put this woman as fat at the best, and obese at worst. She's not sexy.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Idk, I'm getting an 1800's US Presidential wife vibe from her face.

[–]5th_Law_of_Robotics 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Not worth the false rape accusation.

[–]armed_renegade 8 points9 points10 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Except she's the one whos spiked your drink and is dragging you home. So, be prepared for a rape charge, cause you know..... she was taken of advantage of.... by stuff.

[–]ImGoingToTroll 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Im 6 feet and 280 pounds unless she's she-ra shes not getting me to her place lol.

[–]salgat 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

This kind of shit does not help the cause man. Stop trying to body shame and stick to the topic.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Everyone has an opinion and they are allowed to have and voice their opinion. If that opinion hurts someone elses' feefees then that's their own problem. There is a right to free speech, not a right to not be offended. "body shaming" is on the same line of thought as "victim blaming"... it's a bunch of bullshit.

[–]ImGoingToTroll 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I didn't body shame it's clear you didn't read the other comments i made. Keep up that ignorance 👌
