I (42m) am in the midst of divorcing stbxw (42f), 2 kids 18m, 16f. Spoke to my lawyer Friday to discuss the situation, and the convo turned to how screwed over us men are in these things, especially given the situation. He even told me about his divorce, which made me feel somewhat better because of how bad is divorce was.

During our discussion, he shook his head and said, " There's something in the water, it's nuts!" And went on to tell me about how he has had to turn away clients due to the number of people trying to hire him, and it's the same across our city. And the story was the same for every one: 35-45 yo wife initiates, out of the blue, after years of marraige. Guy is accused of narcissism, emotional abuse, etc. Wife "tries" couples consouling ( but doesn't really) while guy works hard and does everything to fix. Wife was sahm or worked part time, while husband supported family, but she did little to nothing in the house, while constantly barraging him wanting him to do more with housework or kids. And of course, the woman goes for the jugular.

I was shocked, because some of this stuff I had never specifically told him. With just a bit of info about things, my lawyer knew the entire story.

So yeah, guys, it ain't just in our heads. But we already knew it.
