Being “girlfriend zoned” is worse than being classified as “sex only” for women.

Men act like the worst thing that could happen to a woman is to be used for sex and then discarded or in a situationship with a man who doesn’t respect her. While those things do suck, usually the woman knows where she stands and knows not to do anything serious with the guy like have kids. And these dynamics usually do not last long.

In fact, what’s worse is when a woman is classified as “girlfriend material” but not “wife material”. This doesn’t apply to couples where both people agree that they don’t care about getting legally married. This is a situation where the girlfriend wants to get married, the boyfriend has made promises regarding marriage or has hinted at marriage in the future, but has no intention to actually get married any time soon. They may spend years together, have kids together, live together as husband and wife live together, but the boyfriend has no real intention of taking things into a marriage while the girlfriend does.

Even worse is when the girlfriend does get married, but the husband doesn’t fully consider her his dream girl and will leave or cheat once the opportunity presents itself. Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher are an example of this. Another example is how Brad Pitt left Jennifer Aniston for Angelina Jolie

And if/ when the relationship falls apart, the woman gets treated poorly by men. She’s old, undesirable, and in even worse shape than the woman who was used for sex then discarded. She lost years of time over a few months of time. She may even end up a single mom. And men tell her she should have known better, picked better, etc.
