I am lost for words for his idea to put this poor horse down because it is such a horrendous thought.

She should have ditched him the second he told her she needed to prioritise their relationship. A horse is a huge responsibility and it takes a lot of time to care for one. He is not willing to accept that.

Besides he seems to be jealous of the time she spends with Lady. Which makes him seem like one of these guys that later in life is jealous of the time she soends with their baby.

There is some serious hate lobbed at ‘horse girls’ that I’ll never understand. It’s a hobby just like any other. Men will flip out if you suggest limiting video games or sports games. I’ve also been told to ‘get rid of’ my pets. No thanks, I’d rather be a crazy cat lady that loves and supports the animals I took responsibility for. As a fellow horse owner and animal lover this made my fucking stomach turn..

So, I’ve always prioritised my animals over any guy I’ve been with, and it’s caused me problems too. Guys have given me ultimatums and tried to get me to “pick them” over animals that I absolutely adore and love. I’ve ended relationships due to this, even as a pickme.

NO CHANCE scrotes.

Men love to say we are the needy attention whores but they always tell on themselves. My ex was jealous I spent so much time and prioritized OUR infant. My good friend 50+, her boyfriend was about to move in with her but said she needed to get rid of her dogs. She said fuck no and got rid of him. Then this example. I remember a post here a couple of months ago, about how "horse girl is a feminist issue".

There's the stereotype that "horse girls" are crazy going on among men, and the post was generally talking about how riding horses and dealing with them teaches women and girls to have boundaries, to be confident and assertive. And also because it demands time, so a "horse girl" will never be easy to tame and become a typical tradwife, devoting all her time to children and the manchild hubby

It's honestly not even about horses, it's about control. If she had other hobbies, especially empowering, active hobbies that involves socializing like martial arts, rock climbing and stuff, he would feel the same. It's all about controling and isolating women.

Also, the fact that he even considered killing the horse, and that he has his family backing him up gives me major psychopath vibes, and this whole family is creepy.

Someone rescue this woman, she's in real danger. I wouldn't be surprised if Lady suddenly and misteriously is found dead in her stable.

Given that relationships with animals can be at least as enriching and provide a sense of community and stability in much the same way as friendships with humans, I don't see why expecting your partner to give up their pet is any less creepy and controlling than expecting them to give up their social circle for you. Hell, I'm pretty sure I'd be more devastated if I lost my cat than if I lost touch with some of my friends.

Horse women get shit on constantly by dudes. Constantly. Now, I’ve yet to meet a neurotypical horse woman, but I adore those ladies. I’ve yet to meet one who wasn’t strong, fantastic at communication, intuition, and setting boundaries.

There are men out there absolutely terrified of the fact that we don’t take bullshit from a 1200lb animal, and that we have no similar issues voicing objections to them.
