We need to spread this message.

I’m sick of the “consent is sexy” mantra.

It means nothing if men are still going to coerce women into consenting.

Examples of Coersion:

FORCED ISOLATION:

  • Creating a scenario where she cannot leave.
  • Forcing her to stay at your house when she originally intended to go home for the night.
  • Not giving her the ride home that you said you would.
  • Hiding her keys.
  • Making her miss the last bus.
  • Essentially trapping her at your place but making it seem like you couldn’t prevent it.

ESCALATING SEX:

  • Escalating sexual touching too quickly.
  • Continually amping up sexual groping regardless of whether she says no.
  • Teasing and pressuring until she eventually gives in.
  • Literally “slipping it in.”

MANIPULATION:

  • Continuing to offer her drinks or pot until she cannot consent.
  • Using physically forceful movements under the guise of “passion” or BDSM or rougher sex which results in a freeze or fawn response.
  • Using guilt trips or winning to make her feel bad if she denies sex.

MISREPRESENTATION:

  • Lying about your relationship intentions.
  • Lying about who you are (i.e. being married)
  • Acting like someone you’re not just to get laid.

All of these acts are malicious.

Coercion isn’t consent.

“Player” is just a fancy word for predator.

No one will ever change my mind.
