This is an interesting video where my man Dr. Grande lays out the research around marriage and happiness: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pCH1ySC1yyo

To summarise, the Dr says that that roughly 50% of marriages end in divorce, and of the remaining 50% about 70% - 80% are unhappily married. Effectively this means that 80 - 90% of marriages are unhappy. Not a ringing endorsement for marriage and the traditional family unit.

This video was stunning to me when I encountered it the other year, I am at the age where many friends are getting married and beginning to have families. Since then I have had conversations with older friends in their 40's 50s, who when disarmed with alcohol have basically told me that the research is close, but actually all marriages are unhappy.

Curious to hear peoples thoughts on this particularly those who have been married for 10, 15 yrs plus.
