You're allowed to say whatever you like but this doesn't free you from other people interjecting and providing their opinion and/ or context to your original statement.

If you generalise an entire group and call them 'cowardly', members of said group will rightfully call out such a generalisation and present their opinion i.e many women go through child birth, maternal mortality is incredibly high and is one of the leading causes of death of women - that doesn't exactly scream cowardly.

You can say that men are responsible for the vast amount of inventions but it is disingenuous to ignore the historical context in which women were limited by systematic barriers. Yet, in spite of this, they still excelled and invented incredibly important things i.e the foundation of WiFi, computer software, stem cell isolation etc.

You're arguing to essentially have the right to say whatever you like without input from others that disagree with you or without others having the ability to include context. Obviously, you have to go to echo chambers to avoid disagreements

Observe where? When? Are you suggesting that someone who "observes" negative things about women unprompted isn't misigynistic?

There are a few dark corners of the internet where you can get away with telling the truth about these things.

PPD has 150k subscribers. It's not exactly a globally televised event but it's hardly some arcane forum the average person can't fathom existing. Not to mention, plenty of other social medias features prominent outright anti-women content, let alone unflattering statements. Do you think it's impossible to find people speaking negatively about women on instagram, youtube, tiktok, reddit or twitter? Or thst they're all just locked away in a little bubble the average user could never possibly come across?

Ok so there are a couple of points here.
First the claim "women tend to be cowardly," isnt the sort of claim likely to be backed up by evidence. I dont know how anyone would feel confident in making such a claim as its likely to be riddled with personal biases.

More importantly, in my view, is the second one "Men have invented more things than women."
You arnt silenced for saying that. Watch

Men have invented more things than women. Men are, on average, stronger than women. Male athletes outperform women athletes.

I could go on. What is important is the CONTEXT in which such claims are made. People dont just radomly spout facts from nowhere. We dont walk around and say "Did you know that the human heart beats approximately 100,000 times each day?" When we choose to tell people of a fact it is in service of a larger purpose.

So when someone says "men invented more things than women," its not just a random phrase, its part of constructing a specific narrative. Namely its part of a discourse about women, men, their place in society, intelligence, power and a WHOLE load of other things. EVEN if when you utter it you dont mean it that way you are speaking in a society in which this disucssion is ongoing. We CANNONT escape the context in which we exist.

How people respond to such statements depends a lot on how they percieve you and the immedite context in which you are speaking. There responses themselves *may* be emotional or irrational but they are not random. When you say "men invent more things than women" its not unreasonable to interpret this as you aligning with the narrative of "men are better than women", either intentionally or unintentionally providing support to the narrative hence the dislike of it. Had to simply and generalise a bit. I hope this is clear enough.

You can say whatever you want. Others then get to respond to what you say.

They get to disagree with you. They get to think you are an idiot and give multiple reasons why.

There are legitimate criticisms to be had about women. I won't disagree. Women are just as capable of lying/manipulating/using men. And yeah that kind of behavior should be called out. And I think most women agree. There are vindictive and cruel women out there. Also women who have a transactional mindset as promoted by tiktok about money and princess treatment. It's the same kind of crap that red pilled/PUA promote.

However a lot of the criticisms that get labeled as woman hating shit. Is I feel entitled to a woman's time and attention she won't give it to me. Her standards are too high! Mid women want only the best! Do you see where we may call that woman hating shit. I want to just have sex with her when she is clearly wanting a relationship why does she not give up sex easily for me..

I think women criticizing men as a group. Is men have said these things themselves. Heck someone said it should be okay to lie and get sex. This is another example of a man on this subreddit pointing out something real but then self-owning with ridiculous examples.

First of saying women tend to be cowards is not "truth" but moralizing. Women are more risk averse and this is a fact, but when you use the word coward you are not just saying that, you're expressing moral judgement about their risk aversion. This is not "truth" as being risk adverse can be both good and bad depending on the context. For example being risk adverse leads to better returns in the stock market, yet it also leads to less groundbreaking ideas being attempted. This means for example that female investors have better returns, while male investors are better for the macro outcome of society as a whole. That's just one example of how risk aversion can't be easily judged morally speaking.

Then the idea that men do more important things. People don't respond kindly to that simply because it is true that women were historically restricted from doing a lot of those things. It doesn't mean that everything is necessarily equal, but it does mean that you can't just look at the data and ignore how it has been historically rigged.

Now where you do have a point, is that this is applied selectively in the sense that men are also blamed for doing things, while you cannot actually know if women would have done it any better. And that it is indeed true that people react way more negatively to critique of female behavior than in reverse. You can't really generalize or talk about things women do that aren't great without receiving pushback, which you simply do not get if you talk about men that way.

But people forget if you treat like any 1 persons actions is a reflection to the whole gender.

That people will put that same scale on women just the same they put it on men.

Why it definitely cuts both ways much more then you make it out to be.

So women being more lose with sexual morals and seeking for attention or lonely fools content. Also gets pushed as it being representative to how women are.

Harsh demands and standards pushed on men will naturally also be pushed on women. Especially when men have options they don't folded. And put the same weird or stupid standards back.

So in a big way its just a delayed cut in your own hand what is true with also gendered roles.

When one side wants to keep pushing gendered roles but find that they can't have any gendered responsibilities. It wil make people don't wanna carry there gendered responsibilities.

Much of anything is how you treat someone else so will they treat you in kind. So if you have high demands. You will in time meet more and more people that have outrageous demands of there own.

Cause equality means you only getting out based on what you give into it.

So trends and gendered behavior or even courtship changes in big ways based on how people treat the other side. Thats always been the case.

There is just a bigger social push on one side to put them self last always while on the other side there is a social push to always put them selfs first.

What naturally when the side that gets pushed to always put them selfs last notice the effort is not reciprocated they stopping to put in the effort and will put them self first much more till the other side shows they not that very selfish as the norm has become.

So how people treat the other side so shall you get treated the same way based how common a trend has become among women or among men.

Cause women and men are just 2 sides of the same coin. So its only normal changes the other side makes reflect and also makes that you get the same adjusted results back. Good or bad.

But you probably think thats the case its less for women cause its much quicker silenced or banned talk or behaviors being bad towards women then men talking bad about men online does not get the same censorship as for women. But thats not true in real life at all.

Just cause it gets removed or moderated more cause women are much more likely to report or try and silence straight up criticism or harsh words towards them while men are more use to it.

It definitely does not mean it does not have and makes a switch or ajustment in men how they handle or look or treat women. Based on how they have been treated.

Why I think cancel culture is a disease you make it seem like something is a type of way or no ine feels or experience the same thing cause it gets silenced or cancelled out over the overwhelming other side thats allowed and even protected to have there outrageous talks. But even 20% of that it gets removed.

But simple fact is if people found out the get silenced cause they will naturally and see much worse is allowed on the other side they just ajust to that. And when the wind turns do the same thing to them. Why society is a never ending back and forth with one side going to far. Then people remember how they got treated endlessly and just doing the same shit that was ok to do to them when the power was switched.

Why trends and counter trends to mimic the outrageous things and putting the other side to the same standards they put on them is very commonplace in a way putting the mirror in front of them. To hopefully see how crazy people are and how selfish they being but sadly selfish people don't just stop being selfish. But people do ajust when that behavior becomes more the norm.

What is very different from online life. Cause I would say no men or women that is always online or in there phone and connected to all the new weird trends is a good partner. On avrage people that life life true a screen are never able to live in the moment. But sadly there a ton of those people out there. That have there phone glued to there face.

While for me its mostly just what to do while I on the toilet.

What makes that online trends does effect real life more especially in bigger cities a lot lot. And faster to.

But everything online or real life has always a plain and simple actions meet reactions of both sides. Till people are completely uninterested in the other side and demand drops or stops.

In the West, you aren’t supposed to say things which are unflattering to PEOPLE as a group. You’re not even really supposed to say anything unflattering about groups ever. It’s called stereotyping.

“The West” is mainly made up of multi-ethnic, multicultural settler colonial states founded by Europeans. These Europeans admitted, killed, and forcibly moved people around the world to develop their colonies. Pluralism is the consequence.

Pluralism = co-existing with others from different cultural background. Pluralism falls apart when stereotypes are normalized. Stereotypes may be adaptive in ethnically homogenous societies because it allows them to differentiate outsiders. But in heterogenous, pluralistic societies attempt to peacefully coexist among extremely diverse populations? It’s maladaptive in the extreme, for all involved.

Unflattering can be interpreted to apply to an inordinate number of interpretations. Usually unflattering is based on superficial judgement, like, those glasses are unflattering on your face because it does not harmonize with your face shape. Or you chew with your mouth open when you eat.

When you criticize groups using 'unflattering' generalization, open based on stereotypes and tropes, you will always get pushback.

So, I guess I would agree with you that when you make gross, unfair, stereotypical generalizations that serve to undermine women as professionals, members of society, parents, friends and partners, you can't be so shocked that those statements will be challenged (you call it taboo to be challenged).

Well, when one of your examples of "unflattering things about women" that you give here, like of all things you could have chosen as examples, this is where your mind went.... And the words you choose matters! It is either pure ignorance or misogyny or a good mix of both.

For most of modern history, women were barred from higher education, excluded from scientific institutions and legally restricted from owning property or filing patents in their own name.

Please just do a simple Google search and educate yourself before spewing gender war stuff online and people might not be so quick to "silence you".

Grace Brewster Hopper - Computer programmer who was the first to decide the theory of machine-independent programming languages and wrote the first computer manual.

Jane Cool Wright - Called the mother of Chemotherapy because she pioneered research taking chemotherapy from an experimental, last resort treatment towards what it is today.

Mary Sherman Morgan - Rocket Fuel Hydyne, responsible for getting the first US satellite into orbit.

Ellen Ochoa - Optical analysis system. This is how robots are guided during operations to detect imperfections for robotically manufactured products

I could continue this list for a looong time, and I have not even touched on inventions by women where men took credit.....

What do you mean by 'taboo' here? The usage seems to mean: 'a lot of people will not like it when you do it.' That's probably true; I think there is a general consensus that generalizations are weak and negative generalizations are rude. I think you're perhaps taking one friend group to represent "in general in life in the west" or something of that nature. Many people will say blatantly misogynist things all the time and not seeing anything wrong with it.
