This mentality is useful if you're engaging in casual sex and want to remember not to catch feels for a woman who is having sex with other men (just as you, presumably, are also having sex with other women.) It's the other half of Red Pills "as you are spinning her plate,s he is spinning yours", meaning that if you're getting sex from many women, it's foolish to expect those women to not also be getting sex from other men.

In terms of looking for an actual long-term relationship where you and your partner both expect monogamy, it's a terrible mentality to have, because it assumes that your relationship won't last and your woman isn't loyal.

It's not illegal to think this way, but it's understandable why a woman wouldn't want to date a man who thought of her as temporary, and likely to stray.

I think men being so crushed after breakups is a byproduct of not having any good support network.

So men make their girlfriends their lover, mother, best friend and therapist all at once.

This phrase just implores men not to get too attached to their girlfriends which idk how good of an idea that is. It's okay to love the shit out of your SO, but also have a healthy support network to get you through dark times

Thanks, I agree as a dude who was cheated on and had a hard time coping and choosing to leave. It’s made it much simpler to have looked back and realized it was only my turn and I can’t help if that’s all the other person wanted. Sucks to find that out from them after a lie, but overall it’s been a mind opener. I feel content with dating when my time comes and I’m in a better place, knowing I won’t be beaten down by something like infidelity again.

In fact, holding these two mindsets together is beneficial, because it means that one doesn’t have to worry nor focus on the circumstances surrounding why the relationship ends.

Men are truly romantic and stoic. I doubt I will ever see a guy crying or showing any emotion other than blatant indifference.

All evidence we have is that excessive serial monogamy creates a ton of problems for society at large. It's possible some other sort of system could make it all work without the costs, but nobody has many good ideas for such a new system. Not ones that scale and are realistic. So I take issue with the idea that there is nothing wrong. Ultimately, even the individual wants to live in a well-functioning society.
