I'm curious about the thinking of a man who believes his wife should be obedient to him.

For the sake of the discussion, there are two ways to go about a relationship:

The first - a man takes the lead and the woman must obey him as the sole leader of the family. The second - the man and woman both lead and collaborate on a shared vision for the family.

By definition:

  • Obedience is compliance with an order, request, or law or submission to another's authority.
  • Collaboration is the action of working with someone to produce or create something.

My questions:

  • What uniquely qualifies a man to be the authority?
  • What uniquely qualifies a woman to be subservient?
  • What makes obedience superior to collaboration?
  • What are the drawbacks to collaboration? Why is it inferior?

I'm simply interested in hearing thoughts.
