Bruh, she's going to get real pissed off. What, what's wrong with me? That's what she would start thinking.
[–]appmanga 15 points16 points17 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You confidently look her in the eyes, and you never say things like this in a mean way, but in a gentle, smart-ass, matter of fact way. Just look in her eyes and say it nicely with a smile on your face. If she looks at you and says something like "You're so crazy", you're in her head. If she taps you or "punches" you, you're definitely in her head and just be a chill guy from then on. She will make it her business to figure you out.

Jumping to this comment to add my experience last year.
I was “dating” some girl for a few days. One day, while we were waiting to get food, she began talking about her sex life. She admitted to things I really didn’t want to know.
I was just very quiet and I’m sure she could sense how awkward it was. She said, “It’s not like you’ll ever find out. We’re not gonna fuck.”
I laughed and changed the subject.
Later on, she asked me if I’ve ever had a threesome. I said I haven’t. She then asked, “What if I have a friend who is super into you and she wants to join us?”
I made the (what some of my friends claimed) mistake of asking, “Uhh… I thought you said we’re never fucking?”
She got quiet and eventually said, “Yeah… I guess so.”
For the record: we never fucked. I never even wanted to try. She grossed me out with very specific details about her sex life. I feel I dodged a bullet by breaking things off with her.
[–]JasonWwolf 61 points62 points63 points 4 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link
I mean they could always just...ask.
[–][deleted] 13 points14 points15 points 4 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link
Ask what ?
[–]JasonWwolf 59 points60 points61 points 4 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link
If I'm just out for sex. "Hey, do you want to only have sex or something more?" Not that hard.
[–]HanEyeAm 57 points58 points59 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Asking someone how they are feeling, expectations likes/needs, etc. is a respectful thing that can help build intimacy and connection. It can help reduce misunderstanding.
However, in this situation, she would be asking a really personal question that will probably raise defenses and likely receive a half truth in return. That is, if the man has enough insight into what he wants, anyway. And sex when? Tonight? Tomorrow? Casual only? Could you see us married? And is the man allowed to change his answer later? It's too direct of a question and too fuzzy to a concept to make for a reliable answer.
In life, clearly stating your expectations is always going to be more useful than asking someone else about theirs: they can lie, not have the self-awareness to answer reliably, or change their mind at any time. The only thing you control is your own expectation.
[–][deleted] 39 points40 points41 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That way you are able to just lie to them. The other way exposes someone directly
[–]Jestopherson23 14 points15 points16 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Frequently people tell you what you want to hear in order to get what they want
[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
But this doesn’t change that. The guy can still say what the woman wants to hear in an effort to eventually seduce them. I can’t tell you how many guys I know who have had that exact same thing said to them only to be fucking them a month later and then ghosting. If they say it like that I just don’t want to talk to them anymore, it’s so random and rude and now the conversation is soiled.
[–]indecisivefucc 60 points61 points62 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
I think they it's a way of them escalating things sexually without the stigma of being a slut.
[–]glumbum2 22 points23 points24 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
They* think it's a way. Instead it's actually just their insecurities showing through
[–]indecisivefucc 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Idk about all that. Women are constantly sexualized and whenever they are open about their desires, they're considered "slutty" or "easy". We're also talking about instances where OP has only interacted with them a handful of times.
[–]glumbum2 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah I'm just also categorizing those women as insecure for allowing those designations to affect them
[–]alpdora22 16 points17 points18 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
In my experience, women do stuff/say things intentionally to push your buttons. Just so they can observe your reaction and how you handle things, to get trustable info about you.
They do this to see the real you, and it is a way more acceptable info for them compared to the answer they’ll get just by asking you ‘directly and openly’. So be aware about this and act/reply accordingly. With experience you’ll understand this language of subcommunication. Some guys are just naturally talented with this because they got the right mindset and probably learned it at very early age.
[–]Sensitive-Permit-877 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You need to understand women are not rational like men in the way they think or speak.
[–]BKLYNBear 33 points34 points35 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I don't like this answer. You're likely correct, however, women shit-testing a man can go on forever, and at some point she's just being manipulative and wasting your time. But you do have to roll the dice. Pass the shit-test, progress the conversation, and try to close for what ever it is you're closing for. But if you're simply just having a casual conversation to get to know the woman for let's say for an LTR and you don't have an agenda like trying to sleep with her but she's still shutting you down with that rejection, then it's on her. Take the L and move on.
[–]Chopparob -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Sorry bruh, woman don’t stop shit-testing you after you close the deal. It’s how they’re wired, bless their hearts. They need to know they’re secure whenever they’re around you because they’re inherently unsure. That’s not a knock on women at all, just what I’ve read from women’s psych books. It makes sense if you think about it. They’re not being manipulative, it’s how they stay safe in this world.
[–]vanillapopsicle 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Then that’s gross and manipulative. It’s a rude thing to say. OP should just walk away.
[–]LemonN_pie 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

... she thinks you are not just desperate for sex.
I cannot say everyone is out for sex, but no so many are out there to talk and have a sexless life, not even priests. I would like to know what did OP triggered to get this specifically said to him.
[–]Vapourtrails89 113 points114 points115 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
You know what, a girl once said, "I'm not going to get with you", after she had chased me out of a club to the outdoor area. She said if she got with me we'd end up taking it further. Another girl once said, "you want me to be your girlfriend, but it's not happening," in a playful way in a similar situation
It occured to me years later that they may well have both said these things because they wanted me to challenge it. She wanted me to say yeah I want you to be my girlfriend, so the games could begin. Instead I was just like, " Ok.... "
[–]fr3shout 31 points32 points33 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Yep. They are trying to qualify themselves.
[–]TheRiverOfDyx 17 points18 points19 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Ohhhhh that may be why I’m single, I’m respecting that shit because, what the fuck else do you do? “I’m not having sex with you”. How do you challenge that and not seem rapey? Is this why PUA will go “No doesn’t mean No?”. Obvious NO, means No, but “I’m not having sex with you” isn’t the same as “No”? Its more of a statement to challenge? Is it framed as “currently, right this second, i’m not having sex with you” in a girl’s mind so it’s not a “No” that you’d be harassing her for a yes?
I knew girls were complicated, and hearing their words makes my head spin, its very nearly manipulative, but fucking whatever I guess
[–]ayres88 11 points12 points13 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
you don't challenge it. you ignore or brush off the comment then keeps escalating. in my experience, most women who say that are DTF.
[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I had this hot blonde at the bar years ago talk to me for like 2 hours, then give me a ride home, turn off the car, say I'm not DTF, and I believed her. Stupid.

now you know. happens to the best of us.
[–]TheRiverOfDyx 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
So let them escalate. I’ve figured that’s always been the answer. Let them be the escalator and only sometimes do i take a step up, then let them continue.
Kinda feels like we’re a vaccine and girls have to be the one to shoot up the needle. If we are too eager to jab, well…what’re they putting in there that DESPERATELY NEEDS to be jabbed into me? Lowkey is the only key.
[–]eonscrewedme 458 points459 points460 points 4 years ago (62 children) | Copy Link
Yes, it means she is thinking about sex with you.
It also means you will almost certainly have sex if you go for it adn play your cards right.
You just play confident, and go with something like "hold on there take it slow", or some playful push of that kind, or don't respond at all and just laugh at her.
Then keep escalating.

This hints of slut shaming. More women will sleep with you if you don't think of them as a slut. They're thinking of making themselves very vulnerable to you (sex/isolation), and checking whether you respect them and their boundaries.

[–]Tremaparagon 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Well maybe if you don't say it well. It can be fine if you are beaming and cheeful.
Like it's similar to how I'd first think to respond, which is along the lines of "whoa there [lady], we need to stay on task, can't be having naughty thoughts of sexy sex all the time" - as long as it's clearly playful.
The idea is to not seem caught off guard / totally disrupted by "getting called out" instead you are still totally comfortable in and charmingly steering the conversation any way you wish.
[–]stanthemilkman88 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah. You say it with laugh. Like it is all amusing and funny with hint of teasing.
[–]primallyours 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It’s really not that deep.
Girls want to have sex with hot dudes. They also at the same time don't want people to know that they want to have sex with hot dudes.
This is basically it. It testing your confidence and that you won't blab about it to everyone.

How do you escalate from something resembling full on rejection? Seems counter productive on their part to tell someone you want to have sex with...that you don't want to have sex with them.
[–]skinisblackmetallic 34 points35 points36 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is not applicable to all women, it’s a case by case basis. You need to learn how to psychoanalyze them quickly and determine their personality and behavioral patterns and from there determine how to deal with a woman.
[–]Vajrejuv98 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It's very straightforward if you understand the mechanics. It seems backwards if you think they'll act the same way you, as a guy, would act
[–]TheRiverOfDyx 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Walking backwards. That’s the most apt description of it i think. I sometimes work their tactics out in my head as if I were them, and it can be walking backwards, sometimes its walking forwards, sometimes sideways, sometimes not at all - because she ain’t the boss, she can’t tell you were to go, and if you do you’re a loser, sometimes it’s walking where she says. Women are weird
[–]primallyours 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
What if I told you that that is what a lot of women call ‘game’. [Morpheus voice]
[–]riversmoke 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
crazy it seems like dealing with women is kinda like walking backwards
You can think of it more like dealing with someone that is used to being changed all the time. You can degenderize it too which might help conceptualize this.
Someone who is used to being pursued all the DAMN TIME is tired of fending people off. They're going to develop strategies to more easily fend off those that aren't worth their time. There are so many that aren't worth their time and it takes a time to figure out if they are or aren't. It's exciting to chase something else for once, that thing you chase seems elusive and maybe more interesting than the people you fend off all the time.
It's like walking backwards because you might be thinking it's your job to chase a woman and so yes, you must actually walk backwards and let her chase you.
She wants you to approach because that shows her you have courage. But that that's still not you chasing her. That's just an initiation. And often, you responded to her eye contact - something she may feel she initiated!
It's not quite as simple as this but if a ANYONE says anything related to sex or attraction it's because it's crossed their mind. They may change their mind based on how you handle yourself.
Think of someone you're not attracted to, would you want to tell them you wouldn't have sex with them - IF (remember they fend off advances all the time) you can assume this person will bug you about sex after you brought it up.
I'm male but older so I'm curious if any ladies want to shed better light on this.
[–]asocialkid 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

when a girl sees classifies you as not sex worthy material, the subject doesn't even cross her mind
A naive teenager, perhaps, but an attractive adult woman knows damn well that most of the men approaching her are doing it for sexual reasons. Even if she's completely uninterested, she knows has to be wary of his interest.
[–]thiswaytoalltheporn 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
He's talking about verbally. If she says this unprovoked, she's planning it. Or maybe you're one of those "not like other women" types who does the same stuff but beats themselves up about being human and doing human things? Who knows?
[–]Delicious_Ad_1853 11 points12 points13 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
She's not "unprovoked". She's been approached by a random guy that's trying to fuck her. OP may be trying to hide his intentions, but she's probably not clueless.
If she's interested, she might say "not happening" as a playful shit test.
If she's not interested, she might say "not happening" as an exit strategy.
Telling rookies to ignore the second possibility is rapey as fuck. This sub is better than that. Gotta look at the entire context and calibrate accordingly.
[–]HanEyeAm 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah, take it as data, but don't think it is confirmation of anything. Keep talking and collecting data, escalate, or put sex on the backburner while you develop her desire. Maybe she is saying she won't fuck tonight but might tomorrow if you play it right.
[–]thiswaytoalltheporn 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Fair enough.
[–]steveblahhh 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
Sure, the subtext of the interaction is implied - it's man to woman. But we are responsible as individuals to keep decorum and according to OP he's getting these comments before the topic of sex or any form of escalation for that matter.
There is nothing "Rapey" about a playful verbal counter to what is, at face value, a rude comment.
Maybe this sub-reddit can post a sticky thread for obvious red lights for those trying to improve while respecting boundaries.
[–]Delicious_Ad_1853 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
A playful verbal counter is absolutely a solid move if the overall tone of the interaction seems positive.
You just have to stay mindful of the other possibility. In a community full of socially stunted men, all advice needs to stay balanced cuz you know there are rookies out there that will take things too far. This community serves a very important role, but we can't ever forget that confidence + incompetence is a very dangerous combination. We have to be careful about how we bring the rookies along, so things don't get toxic like they do in certain other subs.

I thought I was ugly for years, because I constantly had attractive women say they weren't going to have sex with me. It was the same, randomly in a conversation. They were really hot, and I didn't think I was attractive, so I believed it.

The "we aren't having sex" is a green light. Not a red light.
The only way that should be taken by you is as an acknowledgement that her head is already there.
She's just saying the opposite because she's playing games.

You say: good, I don’t plan to have sex with me either, so that’s one thing we have in common.
You absorb the ‘blow’, stay on your feet and throw a light humorous jab. You can follow through with a few more taps or wait for her response first. Be prepared for her to throw something ‘meaner’ and be ready to block/absorb and put it back on her.
[–]chankletavoladora 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]One-Hedgehog4722 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This is what we call a “shit test”. The sooner you accept that women do this, the better. Women all have different ways of doing it, one simple method is the example provided “we aren’t having sex etc”. They want to see how you react, do you play it cool or do you over react and act like an ass. If you chose second option, well that’s a quick and easy confirmation to the women not to have sex with you…better to find out that way in a public setting then back at the apartment or whatever the case may be.
[–]Dillweed95 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Use it as a chance to tease her.
"What makes you think I'd want to have sex with you?"
"That's good because I NEVER have sex when I first meet someone."
I think this is a type of shit test women do.
It is called subtext dude. That is just how that talk.
[–]fr3shout 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Don't take it so seriously. It's a combination of her thoughts popping into her head and a bit of a shit test.
[–]brain_coral_77 -3 points-2 points-1 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Don't listen to this shit advice, if she says that then leave it be. Don't try to have sex with her after she specifically said she doesn't want to. If she's playing mind games, that's a really stupid thing to say anyway if you actually want sex. But whatever you do, don't push it after they say that. There will be other women, straight forward with their intentions but leave these ones
[–]HanEyeAm 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Don't push it is great advice. She might have a firm rule about waiting a few dates and is saying out loud as a commitment to herself (because she might be tempted) and is asking you to respect her.
If you want to pursue her, work on building her desire for you. By date 2 or 3 she may be DTF. If you don't want to play a long game then move on to other women.
[–]One-Hedgehog4722 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
It’s more like a shit test..they want to see how you’re going to react when she says no to sex. If you over react then you failed the test. If you play it cool then probably passed. When you go through the process it makes more sense. I remember my first time..chick rejected my kiss, I played it cool next thing I know she’s ripping my pants off without any effort on my part.
[–]HanEyeAm 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Maybe so. Either way, like we say, play cool.
[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points-1 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
it's not rejection. you just escalate little by little. eventually she will want it more. and there's one last and final move to seal the deal. not gonna put it on blast here but it's never ever let me down. has worked literally every single time (25-30).
[–]Delicious_Ad_1853 23 points24 points25 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yes, but it could easily be in the form of "He's obviously trying to have sex with me. I need to shut this shit down now before it gets rapey."
As always, gentlemen, you don't have to full stop at the first IOD, but if the IOIs don't drastically outnumber the IODs, you're walking on thin ice. You can't just blindly assume that "no" means "yes".

How do you respond to that though without sounding insane "I don't want to have sex with you." "Yes you do."? Haha like what that's crazy.
[–]thiswaytoalltheporn 29 points30 points31 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Pretty much any response or lack of response EXCEPT for taking these words at face value is the appropriate response. If you act salty or get upset or ask why they say that, you just talked your way out of her night/life.

Ignore it, women say stupid shit all the time like “ I don’t have sex on the first date or you have to wait X amount of months before we fuck”
Act like she never even said it
Remember ”she makes the rules for guys she doesn’t like, but breaks the rules for guys she does like” so be the guy she likes

I would definitely guess the girl is flirting and fishing for a response / hoping you catch the hint that she has some interest and wants to see where things go. I think it's important to recognize when you might be in a flirty situation so you can keep on your toes. I think any response is fine so long as it comes from a place of confidence that suits your personality. It matters more on delivery than content.
Alternative is that the girl is shit testing you, and just trolling to fuck with you and see how you react and bored.
The takeaway is that you shouldn't read too much into it and try to be yourself.
The worst reaction would be to get caught off guard and have no response / be dumbfounded like 'uhhh what' or 'okkk....?' because the topic will move on and be done.
[–]yennybear888 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
“What makes you think I’m so easy?”
“If you paid me I wouldn’t have sex with you”
The key is delivery…say it with a smirk. And yes, every woman who has ever said that to me I’ve had sex with them pretty quickly after. It’s just a test
[–]Hungski 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I ve literally had a girl tell me to stop when we were in the middle of foreplay, so naturally i m like ok, i ma stop cos u know, dont wanna get done for rape or someshit. Then when i stop she looks me dead in the face and asks me why the fuck i stopped?
[–]ayres88 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
you don't need to give any importance to that. you can respond anyway, as long as you don't start begging for sex.
"ok"
"what a nasty way of thinking you have"
"am i'm giving you that impression? sorry"
"you're right, its probably not a good idea"
"why do you say that?"
it's a shit test, and one of the best to shit test her back.
"what makes you think that you can fuck me?"

Since this has happened multiple times it could be that you’re making your intentions overbearingly obvious.
It could be the words you use, your body language, eye movement, something that is being picked up on.
If they’re saying it to end your conversation, I think this is likely the case. However, if it’s not said in parting, it could be a way for them to steer the conversation to the topic of sex.
[–]JasonWwolf 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Yea maybe my energies too high. Not even sexual high, but just too hype. Gotta relax and control the conversation.

I think an honest look at yourself will do you best here. If you’re talking with a girl in a public place, why specifically her? Unless you’re being approached, you are motivated to speak with that specific girl. Why?
Finding your ‘why?’ is a good place to start.

Surprised at all the replies to what I thought was a silly weird question.
The general consensus I'm getting is: from womenbwho if they said this 100% meant it and from men who have had women say this and smashed shortly thereafter.
Conclusion: respect boundaries at all times of course. Joke, flirt, escalate the conversation to see if she's being cheeky. Then act accordingly.
I've so far just been saying "OK, cool." Then leaving and never seeing them again so I'll try better next time 😅.
[–]pyymaki 15 points16 points17 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Haha reading this thread is so funny. I've heard that phrase so many times "we're not having sex btw" and that almost always has lead to sex. I'm so happy when I hear that sentence nowadays.
I'm 34 now and I do pretty ok with girls. When I was in my 20s I used to get confused and flustered and just kind of awkwardly went with an "ok..." or somehow felt guilty ("did I do/say something inappropriate?")
Nowadays I smile hintingly and either ask "what made you think about sex?" or simply "sorry what was that?" and let the situation just sit while holding eye contact. Usually there's either some frustrated looks for a minute when the girl is fighting against her own emotions, then it starts to move to a heavily flirty vibe and escalate a little later.
Practically every time this has happened to me it's just the lady testing the waters - i.e. am I man enough to be a man instead of a platonic discussion partner.
[–]haberdasher42 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I've never had a woman say this to me that didn't fuck me later. I'm dumb and have missed plenty of obvious signals over the years, but this has never been one of them.
A woman that is finding you creepy or too forward will look to end the whole interaction, she won't bring up things you may or may not do later.
[–]Bennifred 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I have said this to my ex after we agreed to just hang out as friends and I was moved on in another relationship. He kept pushing and acting like I never said a thing. We did not end up having sex. I ended up leaving.
100% respect people's boundaries. If you respect their boundaries you increase the chance of seeing them again. Why not both win
[–]xNilon 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
In your scenario, ok. Ex relationship is something totally different than a natural "heterosexual man and woman meet for the first time"-scenario and sexual attraction might be in the air. In that situation you are absolutely not disrespecting boundaries, especially when the woman will later give signs or act in a certain way that says she's DTF.
If she would really not be interested she will and should openly say no. Of course than the man has to accept that, no doubt.
But if everytime a woman said this phrase all the man would give up there would be much less sex in the world when it's clearly a tactic used by women.
[–]Puapub1 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
When I first met my girlfriend she asked "Why are you talking to me?". The point is girls will often try to deter a guy they are interested in, and you have to push through judging on the atmosphere of the interaction.

Dude, you've been playing it wrong the entire time. When I get a text or somewith not sleeping line it' s usually I sign I'm going to sleep with them. Subtext. She said it because she was considering it.
Laugh it off. It is a test and wanting to let you know she is not a sl*t. This all unconscious.
So as other said laugh it off. Wow I'm not that easy etc. Play from there
Remember watch actions not words

The first time I realized this is a very good thing to hear I was with a girl that had been flirting and giving me “fuck me” eyes. I was dressed very well and surrounded by people that weren’t when I met her. She was a solid 10. She aproached me and asked what I was doing there (implying that I stood out from the crowd in a good way). My response was unintentionally ambiguous. While looking her in the eyes with a sly smile I said, “I was just wondering the same thing.” She initially registered it as a compliment about herself and smiled, then looked momentarily confused as she realized I might be talking about myself.
We spent a little time together, things started to get frisky, and she laid the “We’re not going to have sex” line on me.
It was so ludicrous given what was happening that I just laughed and said, “Oh now you’re going to play hard to get?” Her response: “We’re definitely going to fuck.” She then said her goodbyes to others so we could leave immediately.
For her, I think the “we’re not having sex” line was a method of saying, “I’m not normally a slut, so if we have sex it’s not my fault.”
[–]Pik000 13 points14 points15 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Its the exact opposite as shes thinking about having sex with you. Not saying you can go home with her that night but shes interested. Most times if you catch up for a drink at a later date it they have already let you know their keen as long as you dont fuck it up.
[–]Shivam5483 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Man I was laughing my ass off while reading this post. All four of them that said this were into you bro.
Two things I wanna point out.
Women are more emotional than logical so don't try to find logic in what they're saying.
It's a classic shit test. When she says this, it means she's the one thinking about it. And she's just testing how you react to see if you're really worth it. And how you're reacting is exactly the opposite of what you should be doing.
Side note: sometimes they say this to not appear slutty. So if something does go down. It just something that happened in the moment. And it wasn't her fault.
Whenever they throw something like this to you. Just don't get emotionally affected. That's how you deal with shit tests.
As for how to respond. There three ways you can go about it. Agree. Exagerate. Ignore.
After she says this, you can just say "okay" (with a cheeky smile) and move on with the conversation.
Or you can exaggerate it by saying something like "yeah I'm too shy for that anyway" or whatever. Don't worry about it sounding stupid.
Or you can just ignore that like she didn't even say anything and move on with the conversation.
All three ways works great.
Also, don't listen to the guys that are saying that you should back off or leave when she says that. They clearly don't understand women's psychology and don't know what they are talking about.
[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
A girl saying this to me is usually a huge indicator that she is going to sleep with me at some point lmao - shows that it’s on her mind.
I usually toss back a “perfect I hate sex”, or “this fits right in to my plan to friend zone you”, or “waiting till marriage?”. Something to throw them off guard and laugh. Doesn’t have to end in awkwardness.
[–]AmazingAnimeGirl 19 points20 points21 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
I'm a woman it's literally because EVERY or a far amount of guys think because we're having a good conversation they can just ask to fuck like a day later. I say it because I don't want to be harassed and go through that it's not me being a bitch :/
[–]intensely_human 14 points15 points16 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
So because you don’t want the responsibility of saying “no” in response to a possible future question, you take the responsibility for saying “If you were to ask me to have sex with you the answer would be no” earlier?
[–]Mc_Dickles 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Come on bro we all know accountability isn’t their strong suit 🤣
[–]HanEyeAm 10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link
General note about phrasing for the ladies...
"I'm not going to sleep with you" is personal; it implies there is an issue with the man being addressed.
"I don't sleep with someone after just a couple dates. I really need to get to know them before considering it" places the focus on the woman who is setting the expectation. It is an expression of her values."
Clearly, the latter won't be taken as offensive by the man and sets clear parameters and clarifies that there's nothing that he can do, other than help her get to know him, to get her to sleep with him, and it won't be that night regardless.
[–]controversyonly1 points 4 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link
As a man, I cringed when I read this. Shouldn't we as men appreciate honesty? What if she means "I'm not going to sleep with you", and not "I don't sleep with guys on the first date?". As in, she would sleep with other guys on the first date, (most would), just not you.
I feel as though women feel pressured to not flat out reject guys and have to sugar coat it because they're afraid of offending guys, and men can often feel led on or react violently. Men should just accept rejection and move tf on, that's life.
The way the OP presented it, it seed to come out of left field, and in any case she isn't saying *never *. Given we don't have much context, perhaps he should be asking for clarification (perhaps in a funny way).
[–]Becka3Knees 18 points19 points20 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Or maybe they actually mean what they say and just don’t want to have sex, so if you’re looking for a sexual relationship try again with someone else.
[–]JasonWwolf 10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
That's usually what I assume. I take people on their word haha
[–]intensely_human 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
And I think you’re very smart for doing that.
[–]self_journey 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I'm sure others have said it but it's 100% true: she wants sex but because of societal standards does not want to come off as a "slut". I've been with at least 100 women at this point in my life and this is a constant with women. You just have to shrug or make a little joke and move on, escalate physically, and go for it. I seriously cannot tell you how many times I've been told "we're not having sex tonight" and thirty minutes later we're doing it lol.
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
“How presumptuous of you to assume I want to have sex with you”.
[–]Sleuth65 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
“Don’t know why women feel the need to be shitty though.”
Their comment tells you they’re a shitty woman, and not worthy of your time.
I’d tell them they’re making an unnecessary assumption about your interest, get up and leave. No need to waste energy with a woman who starts by trying to put you in a n indefensible position. Imagine their reaction if out of nowhere you threw into the conversation “Just so you know. I’m not sleeping with you.” Then again, they might take that as a challenge.
[–]sophist16 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Well, counter to the majority opinion, that’s actually a great thing. Women say that to me constantly. The second I hear it I know Im getting laid.
[–]Username_coc 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
So how do you follow that up to secure the sex?
[–]sophist16 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
You can go either way. You can acknowledge it or you can ignore it. Both routes are fine.
Route 1 (Acknowledge): when she says that or something to that affect let her know, “listen, when women say that to me they’re actually letting me know that they WANT to have sex with me but are just too awkward and unsure of themselves to say so. There’s no need to feel awkward around me baby.” And then you move on to some totally different conversation. You don’t even give her a chance to react to what you just said…“Oh wow everything on this menu sounds good. I’m starving…” etc etc. You spoke facts and move on. It wasn’t up for debate.
Do not repeat this word for word…make it your own. Say it with your own style. But you say something like that.
Route 2 (Don’t Acknowledge): When she makes that comment, “We’re not having sex btw” you say something to the affect of, “Oh wow everything on this menu sounds good. I’m starving…” (or whatever other situational thing is appropriate.) You ignore the comment and just make a mental note that she’s already thinking about sex. That’s a great thing. She opened the door for you.
Route 3 (Authority Acknowledgement): This is the ultimate and piggybacks off of option 1. This lets her know that you’re fully aware that she’s signaling but she’s not the prize, you are. When she says, we’re not having sex btw.” Say something to the affect of, “listen, I understand you’re attracted to me but I honestly think it’s a little premature to think I’d allow you to have sex with me. You gotta work a lot harder than that to get me to take my clothes off. But keep working, we’ll see how well you do by the end of the date. So tell me more about…..” This turns the tables back in your favor. When she tells you “we’re not having sex btw” she’s speaking from a position of dominance and power. You’re the weak one that’s attempting to get her. That’s just part of a woman’s arrogance. So to knock her back down to reality you just flip it and subtly let her know that you’re the prize, not her. She’s pursuing you and trying to get you in bed, not the other way around. In a nutshell, be a fucking man with standards.
Hope that helps ya my friend. Any other questions just holler.

Say something like this: is that all you think about?
I feel like that’s accusatory and could kill the mood but what do I know
So I’ve only had this happen once. Went to see a local band play with this girl that I genuinely had no expectations for anything with. Went back to her place to have some drinks and she randomly said “we aren’t sleeping with each other tonight” and I said “cool?” in a way that made her assumptions about me seem completely off. I asked if I could sleep over because it was late and the bus stopped running. Within 10 minutes she was on top of me. I know that if I ever hear those words in the future again, I just gotta hold my frame of “I’m not needy, and I have no expectations” and things may just fall into your lap. Also helped to be truly not invested, girls can pick up on when you’re trying to project something, it’s uncanny sometimes.
[–]Jandiboy 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It’s mostly a good sign, she is thinking about the possibility
Normally it’s a shit test to see how you react. Most times I find that they say that so they don’t feel guilty if that happens as well. Most times you end up having sex when they say that if you’re on a date etc. Just my experience tho

I've done this, to avoid putting myself or them in a position where they think sex is on the table. I've still had people assault me or get mad when I've communicated that sex isn't on the table, but I think it's just an extra safeguard to communicate it.
If she says she doesn’t want to have sex with you, the thought of having sex with you as passed through her mind.

This is a line from a Julia Roberts movie. They were playing cards and she suddenly said "You're not getting any, you know". He just smirked and said "Yeah, let's just be friends. That way we can hang out with the kids, play cards, and I won't have to worry about you hitting on me all the time". He said it with a confident smirk. This is a world class response. It flips the script, shows confidence, and it's a good tease.
I tried this line twice and it worked both times.
It also worked for a friend of mine, who got the "let's be friends text", and he was bummed. I took his phone and texted the line above (sligthly modified). The girl started chasing him, and they dated. She turned out to be very insecure.

My guess is many women assume we want sex. So if they have a boundary with it, they may feel they need to tell you. I wouldn't read a ton into. Perhaps look at the way you phrase things and body language if it bothers you enough to evaluate how you present yourself.
[–]banditcleaner2 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]Model_Yazz 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It’s complicated, but much of it boils down to people are just shit communicators and this whole “playing the game” thing can be stupid at best.
I’ve very flatly brought up during total, non-sexual banter of “I’m not going to have sex with you”-esq comments, but anyone who knows me, that’s a straight up, I mean what I way statement. Often times, for women, guys that have cool laid back convos read into it that “oh she really likes me” and take it the wrong way. In the same breath, I’ve told my BF the very same thing in the same way, and it was on like donkey Kong later. 🤷♀️.
Ultimately it really depends. It’s not meant to be insulting or anything. It just kind of “is” and you’ve gotta read the situation as such.

This sounds to me like women think about sex even talking to you. It's a good problem to be honest 😁 something about you is activating them. It's all about how you respond..
It’s easy, you just turn it back around on them. Ask, “oh is that what you’re thinking about, I just thought this was a friendly conversation. We’re just friends”
People want what they can’t have. And a woman who thinks you are comfortable friendzoning her will get frustrated, and high chance of chasing.

It’s super common. Usually comes up while youre in the groove of the conversation. There’s no secret to it. They’re literally telling theyre either not interested in you or, more often than not, that they have other shit going on in their life and theyre not trying to have sex with anyone at the current moment. Just talk to them and chill

I said it to a guy who is now my very good friend. In my experience as a female i felt i had to let him know because i really liked him and wanted to get emotionally close to him without anything sexual because somehow it had ended sexual with previous guy friends in my past. I’ve had a lot of learning to do about setting boundaries for myself in my life and i had to learn Love isn’t just sexual. At this particular time in my life i felt i had to let him know to calm my anxiety about him getting the wrong idea and not confusing niceness with potential sex. He was really cool and understanding about it and now things are great. Me and my husband love him and see him as family. Some people have sexual trauma, maybe try not to get so offended right away 🤷♀️ just respect boundaries.

It's called projecting.
[–]yge789 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
She probably said this just to make it clear she isn't interested in sleeping with you. Having a conversation woman to man and laughing and whatnot is often seen as flirting by men.. when most of the time women are just trying to have a conversation. So to prevent leading someone on they may just say something blunt like this, it's not meant to be offensive or anything, they just want to make their intentions clear.

[–]tryrforrob 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That might be you doing something subconsciously to telegraph it, it's her natural shield popping up, dont get scared away - plow through this. Flip it like : “For x sake, why is every woman about sex nowadays ? You can’t have a good conversation and vibe with a human being anymore ? Come on” and just continue doing you. Actually, think about this like this - YOU should feel offended by her IMPLYING that you want to have sex with her. It's like you told her you won't lend her any money out of the blue, that would be rude of you, so treat it the same
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I have had that happen a few times and I take it as a positive as it is obvious that I am not in the 'Nice guy/safe guy" zone. As far as how I reply......It's usually something like "Thank god, I was trying to figure out how I was going to let you down easy if the conversation went in that direction". Sometimes that actually turns the tables and we spark. lol
[–]One-Hedgehog4722 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

In my life, men have almost NEVER been ok with simply enjoying my presence or a conversation. I usually have to find this out later when they try touching or flirting with me in some way. If I was brave enough, I’d probably say something like that early on too!! Unfortunately in my situation, I’m usually the one uncomfortable. In the scenario you described, it’s you who is uncomfortable. I guess somebody’s gotta lose… at least that how the woman (and I) see it
I’m not saying she’s right for doing that but maybe she’s been conditioned to act more skeptical due to past experiences

[–]KillerBBQSaucyQueen 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I can only speak for myself on this bc every woman is very different. As a woman, I would absolutely never bring up sex in the middle of a non-sexual conversation. I don’t want some random dude to think he picks up on even the tiniest bit of a hint of interest in any way whatsoever. I’m married now, but I wouldn’t do this before either.
The only time I would ever say something like, “No, it’s not going to happen,” would be when the man said something overtly sexually suggestive to me. And once I explained that it wasn’t going to happen, I would immediately leave the conversation and the area. I’m not wasting my time or theirs.
Once one person sees and voices the other as sexually attractive and that sentiment isn’t reciprocated, I think it’s awkward as hell. I would want to leave ASAP in that case. I’m not great with feelings or emotions, and my husband tells me that I can sometimes be abrupt. But since I have a hard time reading people, I’d rather be abundantly clear than have some man feel like I’m leading him on.
Yea that all makes sense. Being blunt and clear is necessary. People tell me I can be a bit abrasive at times too so I feel you.
[–]BarbacoaSan 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]Mc_Dickles 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
All the women commenting that they do this as a way to filter… it’s fucking shitty.
I’m working on my self esteem issues so being told that you don’t want to have sex with me just sounds like “you’re fucking ugly.”
Fortunately this hasn’t happened yet but I don’t put myself out there a lot. I would hate to hear this just because I don’t even know how I’d react. I’d probably cry and vomit 😭
I love seeing questions like this though cuz they are controversial enough I send them to my GF and get her answer.

This is great, it means you’re doing something right. In my experience, agree with her, but coyly grin add a little swagger and say something like “oh, wouldn’t dream of it 😏” do not avert her gaze. Let her look away. It’ll work wonders
One time I asked a girl for her number and she told her boyfriend and he walked up and said “leave my girl alone man.”. It was working at CVS and I was trying to get her number for the coupon points.

So I am understanding that this is happening in first convo at first approach? Are we talking like you in the club or bar?
Maybe it is simply those particular women’s need to establish they are not a ONS or fuck the first night they meet you types.
You’re saying four times. That’s not much of a sample to draw conclusions from and more likely just randomly being what they are feeling for whatever reason.
[–]dobbs1997 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
don’t take a girl saying that as something bad, let that just roll right off of you and just play it off in a fun way, idk say some dumb shit like “yah you can’t have this piece of ass until you prove to me that you’re worthy” as you say it with a little grin on your face lmao something like that, but don’t let it make you feel weird, i’ve been told that before and then later on me and the girl end up having sex, cause i didn’t take her comment seriously & i just continued expressing myself authentically to her.

I was on a first date, and I said something (non-sexually/non-physically) complimentary to her, and she said "Kind of you to say.... but you're not getting laid on a first date!" She said goodnight to me, and I drove the hour long drive home, and then she starts texting that she wishes I was there with her...I guess it wasn't the first date that we had sex because we said bye and there was a two hour gap in the middle of it?

Woman here. If I say that, it’s usually because sooooooooo many men expect sex, even trying to manipulate women when it comes time to draw the night to a close and the man still wants sex. Men can be dangerous to women, so it’s better to let them down in a public place where the man is less likely to do something crazy. I wouldn’t take it personally. If she says she doesn’t want sex, take her at her word. If it turns out she wanted you to challenge it, well, play stupid games, win stupid prizes. If you tell me no, I’m gonna assume you mean no.

I’ve seen lots of women voice their frustrations about how many fuck bois are hanging out on tinder and such. I suppose this is just a defensive mechanism that women have developed because they’re wary you’re only talking to them/being nice to them because you want to have a one-nighter? There is a possibility you are extra polite/kind in your conversations which sends their alarms buzzing because most men are not? Idk
[–]traviij 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
In her experience, guys probably are nice to her only because they want to have sex with her, otherwise there’s no reason for someone to be as nice as you were being. My advice is to walk away. That’s rude dude. I get it, she’s probably tired of that situation playing out over and over, but still - kick rocks lady, that’s incredibly pompous.
[–]Berg426 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That's exactly what you want to hear! Counter Intuitive, I know. If she drops that, completely unprompted it means it's on her mind. And in my experience, is pretty much her stating it to herself more than it's a message to you. Now let me just make it clear to respect her consent or lack thereof in any case. But if she just drops a "I'm not having sex with you" you're usually doing something right.

I'm just gonna say this , on different Reddits alot of men are pushing the narrative , A guy can never just be your friend , he's automatically wanting to fuck you. If you are a woman. Think there is difference on opinions or miscommunications . Idk , but I can see how women after reading men stating all men wanna F*ck if showing any interest , can lead to this kinda thinking on the behalf of women .

I haven't said or done anything inappropriate and the conversation wasn't remotely sexual at all. I've had conversations with women I've just met or recently met on the topic of sex and they never say that.
In a situation like this, provided that you have not been engaging in any physical escalation, these people are saying what they say because of whatever is going on in their head.
2
It's only randomly in the middle of a non-sexual conversation going well with a girl I just met, it's bizarrely specific. And it always instantly makes it awkward.
This is a good illustration of the fact that men do not have a monopoly on social awkwardness.
It also means that you are fully justified if this kind of thing turns you off. Often people who interact and awkward ways like this, aren't going to get any better the longer you know them.
3
I've always wondered if this specificly happens to other men. Don't know why women feel the need to go out of their way to be shitty though.
A lot of guys who've responded on this thread, are misidentifying the situation.
A.) Sometimes when two people get isolated and things physically escalate, the girl will say something like, "We're not having sex," as a way of pumping the brakes for a variety of reasons.
They may have had a sudden realization that they aren't quite comfortable with how far things have gotten yet. It could be a million other things.
Often people who pump the brakes like this in the 11th hour will come around if the guy backs off and keeps cool.
B.) But your situation is completely different.
By your own account, their comments are coming really early in the interaction.
These women are not attempting to be shitty. They are demonstrating massive insecurity. So much insecurity that they need to perceive your actions as so much of a full court press that they are driven to pump the brakes when it's completely unnecessary. It's like that College Humor sketch.
4
The issue here is that someone like this isn't going to get any easier to deal with. They will feel the need to read extra (and often incorrect) meaning into everything you say or do. It goes without saying that this kind of person is exhausting to deal with.
These are the stereotypical people who assume every comment means you're calling them fat, etc.
If you still wanted to try and go there even after they've demonstrated the potential for being an annoying dumpster fire, it would be at your own risk.
5
I'm glad to just be having a fun conversation with someone, but a simple "I'm not interested" or "I'm not flirting with you by the way" would suffice. Any advice on a comeback next time this happens?
I'm glad to just be having a fun conversation with someone, but a simple "I'm not interested" or "I'm not flirting with you by the way" would suffice.
Any advice on a comeback next time this happens?
Honestly, we're talking about serious issues on the part of the other person.
A comeback is not going to fix them. It would take likely years of therapy.
You have two choices here really:
A.) Save yourself some time and energy by clarifying that they didn't have a good read on the situation and either friend zoning them or then moving on.
I have a friend who saves himself a lot of trouble by doing this. He has self-respect and doesn't have patience for people who jump to conclusions before he's even decided he's interested.
He was recently chatting up a girl at a swimming pool and she interrupted him to say that she wasn't interested in he laughed and said, "Wait, you thought I was hitting on you?"
B.) You can try and decode the insecure mess that you're likely dealing with.
In some ways it will be a little like shooting duck and a barrel, but the downside is that getting close enough to such a person to game them will also open you up to them screwing with your head.
The sex you might get wouldn't be worth it.
And heaven forbid, if you end up in a relationship, it would be dysfunctional AF.

this thread is full of the worst advice i’ve ever read in my life, hi, a woman here? if a woman says she doesn’t want to have sex with you, treating it as a challenge to change her words is a bit rapey, consent isn’t consent if it’s coerced, if she is saying it as a way of testing or playing games it’s not a common method known by all women, so it’s risky to assume, and i wouldn’t wanna fuck someone like that anyway they sound bad in bed. sex is good with communication, not mind games. i wish i had the confidence to outright say “i’m not gonna sleep with you” because the need arises far more frequently than i think men know, and many women are scared of making the man mad because too many of us have suffered those consequences. this thread is making it worse i swear to god because when a woman finally does have the bravery to draw a boundary men fire each other up and tell each other it’s an invitation. sometimes i think the majority of men assume everyone wants to have sex with them unless they don’t, meanwhile the majority of women have been sexually harassed if not assaulted/raped.
have you ever thought of asking these women why they would bring that up out of the blue? because i bet it’s not so random to her and if you have any respect for the women you’re giving your time to, you might want to hear their thoughts and opinions and impression of you from their experience, these strangers on the internet are not gonna know why a woman shoots you down, but the woman will, and pretending like it’s so random and bizarre is misogynistic. we are not sex puzzles to crack, we are not tests where the a+ is a blow job, we are not so confusing and crazy if you actually take the time to listen or ask. it’s absolutely insane to me that this thread has transpired the way it has but idk why when on a day to day basis i am repeatedly finding it necessary to dodge sex with strange men who don’t give a shit about anyone but themselves.

Yeah the fact that this has happened on 4 separate occasions indicates there is an issue with the common factor. His conversation clearly isn’t as innocent as he either believes or describes.
if a woman says she doesn’t want to have sex with you, treating it as a challenge to change her words is a bit rapey

consent isn’t consent if it’s coerced
That's a bit extreme, do you know what coerced means? If you say you aren't having sex and then no one forces you to but you do, wheres the responsibility on your part? How's that not consent? Most people on the thread aren't even saying to try to convince the girl, they're saying be playful about it or ignore it because they think its likely not true and the guy is already on the path to getting laid. That mindset doesn't hurt anyone as long as they stay respectful and don't do anything if the girl later says no to an advance.
[–]ellaceh 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
you’re a man huh? cause every woman i know disagrees
[–]visionarydonut 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
They disagree that you should take responsibility for choosing to engage in sex? Doesnt really matter if every woman you know disagrees. If someone didnt force, threaten or mislead you to have sex with them and you werent under the influence of some drug then I'm really failing to see how it can be rape or non consentual sex. By your logic, your original decision of whether you consent to sex or not is fixed forever and cannot be changed down the road and anything that opposes it after that is wrong, which is ridiculous.
Sounds to me like deciding to have sex with someone and then regretting it after, and using that notion to cope with it. Sure you can do that, but dont accuse anyone of rape because of it.
[–]ellaceh 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
i deadass don’t know where you got half of your words other that buzzwords from fox news, cause none of this was a logical response to anything i said. the women in question said “i don’t want to have sex with you” “i’m not going to have sex with you” and dozens of men commented it was because she was horny and wanted to fuck, this is rape culture, and you willfully ignoring what i’m saying so you can spout your nonsense about taking responsibility for sex is rape culture. nobody wants to have sex with you, so manipulating the situation until someone does, is rape

Ma'am. Relax. You're making a lot of good points, but reign it in a bit.
My confusion is not because I believe women to be sex puzzles. I was curious about the juxtaposition of a non-sexual conversation I was having with a women, which I've had plenty that didn't turn out like this, where she randomly felt the need to blurt out that she doesn't want to have sex with me. I'm not touching her or in her personal space and the convo up to that point was fun and lively.
As a man I don't think everyone wants to have sex with me nor do I want to have sex with everyone I'm around. I don't go around harassing or assaulting people. I don't even touch people or shake their hand unless invited to. That's basic respect.
My entire point is that she shouldn't be getting sexual vibes from me because that's not on my mind in that moment so it shouldn't be reflected in my body language or actions. Also why make a so far chill moment into an awkward one unnecessarily.
I have also asked them why they would say that and the response is usually "just letting you know". And my response is "yea that's cool, but that's not where this conversation was going at all just kinda random and awkward to blurt that out dawg."
The bizarreness comes from the context of the situation. Women are pretty loose with the misogyny takes these days it's not that deep. The definition is literally the hatred of women. I don't hate women because I'm confused by awkward behavior when I've had countless interactions with women both sexual and non-sexual and left the conversation without her randomly exclaming not wanting to have sex.
It's a serious problem I get it, but it's wierd to just through around rape to win arguments on the internet.
[–]ellaceh 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
i didn’t see this as an argument i’m “throwing” around rape in, this is a conversation about a woman saying she doesn’t wanna fuck you, any trying to fuck her after that is rape culture, and i was fired up because the first 20 responses to your confusion was other men trying to encourage you to wear her down, my frustration comes from my experience as a woman having to deal with men who think this way, not from your confusion, although i am irritated you’re asking people on the internet instead of a woman. “what would make you think i’m trying to have sex with you? those were never my intentions” is how to deal with that, if you can’t answer that way you simply didn’t do a good enough job hiding how horny you were i guess
That's not what this conversation is about actually. This conversation is about a woman who herself awkwardly interjected sexuality into a conversation, that required none.
I did not want these women. I was not flirting with these women. THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT. Randomly yelling "I don't want to have sex with you." In the middle of a platonic conversation with a man you just met currently respecting any and all boundaries shows a lack of social skills on her part.
I've said before I'm not only asking the internet I've asked women in my personal life this very question.
I did answer that way. Every time I said, "Ok cool, that's not where this was going anyway."
It seems like you're not listening or you don't want to.
It's pretty cringe how overly dramatic you are. Trust me, I got good home training I'm not assaulting any women dawg. No means no and even if I think she's being facetious I'm not just gonna barrel through. I'll ask some probing questions and if she's serious I'll back off of course.
I believe you my friend have a low opinion of men. The fact that at any sign of a man questioning something a woman has done or said you scream rape culture.
It's pretty cringe how overly dramatic you are. Trust me, I got good home training I'm not assaulting any women dawg. No means no and even if I think she's being facetious I'm not just gonna barrell through. I'll ask some probing questions and if she's serious I'll back off ofcourse.
you can’t speak for a woman’s social skills when a random man approaches her and she feels it’s necessary to establish her complete and total lack of sexual desire for him, oh wait sorry this happens over and over to you, you can’t speak for women. in my experience as a woman, i experience strange men approaching me and speaking to me in ways i’m not comfortable with and if they spoke to you like that you wouldn’t be comfortable either, this IS about boundaries, this IS about you, and your refusal to see that is a red flag, you aren’t providing any context for how you behaved so you aren’t genuinely looking for any applicable advice to how to improve your own social interactions, you’re just insisting that women just don’t make any sense, they’re so random confusing and socially awkward, woman after woman fails to make you feel desirable as is their job on this planet why are they like this?
why does it matter? if you could never even dream of wanting them why are you posting? why can’t women let anyone know at any time that if they are there for sex their efforts are not only wasted, but repugnant. because i’ve been a woman every day for decades, so i actually know what is and isn’t necessary to survive interacting with men, i’ve had a lot of trial and error. learn from your errors. and don’t put women on trial, if you won’t listen to our tribulations you will never deserve or even understand our defenses.

Girls randomly "blurt it out" because we know that's what you all will be thinking about 75% of the time, as is proven on this sub. She's simply trying to set a boundary so you can enjoy a non sexual conversation and know this is where it ends. Dudes who say otherwise simply have wishful thinking.🤷🏼 Women are just so used to having to deal with advances that it's easier to make things clear. If we wait, then y'all act like "oh she totally wanted me she wasn't saying no," and some weird shit potentially happens that will be more traumatic for her than it is to simply to tell you like it is. Maybe if y'all normalized friendships with women more and sex wasn't the goal a majority of the time, then these things wouldn't be said to you. You're saying we are random for bringing it up, but you literally belong to a sub that revolves around "seduction." I'm just saying if you need a sub to teach you how to get a woman to have sex with you, then you need to be asking other women. Clearly, your male peers in this sub have it all wrong, but substituting the internet for a woman's opinion won't get you too far. I'm a lesbian, so I understand how it feels to want to seduce a lady, but I'm here to tell you this sub won't help you based on the looks of things.
[–]JasonWwolf -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
The boundary isn't the problem at all. I love good clear boundaries and open honest communication.
There's some contention though on whose advice a man should take about dating. I do however value women's input and perspective to an extent.
But since we're on the subject I'd like to ask a few things. Why do you think all men should be naturally gifted with talking to women? It's a lot of men with different skills and blind spots. I don't think I should get dissed cause I just don't seem to understand women that easily. Plus you don't understand lesbians get way more pussy than straight guys.
I see a lot of advice revolving around how to approach women and being scared, but I'm not scared of women I'll walk right up and talk to any woman. The hard parts keeping their attention for longer than 30 seconds. Which is why I ask questions cause I'm obviously missing something.
Also why is male sexuality so fowned upon? As long as I'm respectful of boundaries why is the simple idea that a man wants to have sex instantly a bad thing? It's viewed as destructive or consumptive, but when a woman wants sex it's liberating and she's connecting to her divine feminine or whatever the fuck. Like, why do you have to "deal with" advances?
I'm lost as to how we can have a culture that's simultaneously like "don't slut shame us." But every tinder bio says "no hookups" and you're annoyed when a guy wants to talk to you or have sex. Like how you gonna get slut shamed when nobody's even having sex?
Plus I have plenty of female friends. Friends I've never had and never wanted to have sex with. I've even had a few make moves on me so idk what this is about normalizing male female relationships but I've been doing that my whole life. If anyone has been stepping past boundaries it's been the women in my life.
I'm part of this sub for information. I have men and women of different ages and backgrounds in my life I ask these same questions too I also have a sister.

if you’re asking for advice on how to treat women, ask women. the fact that you respond to men telling you to ignore them and bounce back with a deeper desire for understanding and you respond to women with contention and resentment that they need to calm down or it’s not about whatever we’re saying no matter what, is indicative of the fact that it’s not out of the blue, you don’t need to know how to talk to women, you need to know how to treat women like people
Dawg, you're boring me to tears. I have plenty of healthy platonic female friendships. Whatever psychoanalysis you think you're getting from my comments is inaccurate.
I do ask women. Which I've stated. Older women, younger women, friends, & family. Coworkers, strangers, etc. It's not contention and resentment simply because I disagree with aspects of your points.
And you probably should calm down with accusations that I'm misogynistic because I simply don't understand something a woman said or disagreed with a point you made. Sorry, I don't fully agree with the leaps in logic on my perceived lack of morality.
Your analysis of this post is rudimentary. You see "his responses to the men are positive & his responses to the women are negative. Must hate women."
As if the content between the two isn't the real reason.
The Men (and some women mind you): "Maybe she's flirting. Maybe she's not. Keep cool, proceed with caution, & if she's open to it make a move. If not, respect boundaries."
The Women: "Men are evil sex demons. She hates you. Stay away from her. You hate women."
Which do you think is more helpful information?
Plus how is "I don't want to have sex with you." "Understandable, have a nice day." not treating women like people?
[–]Luisalter 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
The only thing I can assert with certainty is that sex was in their minds. The rest is just speculation
Understandable. ✌ Have a nice day
[–]20JC20 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I think women assume men are automatically trying to get them into bed when they’re having a good chat and women are continually sexualized and then unfortunately say that prob when it’s best not to say that as a way to make sure they don’t have to owe you their body just bc men secualize them so much so that they can’t even have a nice convo w a man without them trying get something out of them. So then they say that even if it comes off rude and awkward bc they’re so used to be used.
Idk just a thought
[–]Hillman314 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It means she’s thinking about having sex with you / thinking about not having sex with you…. thinking about sex.
[–]sneaker_hype 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]Hamadryaden 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I experienced this one time and we ended up having sex. I asked her later why she did that and she was to keep the interest/flirty vibe.
[–]Teamtoast 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I think it’s a positive sign- a shit test. Quite an easy question for girls to ask to weed out the less confident guys

[–]JennyConcinnity -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
Why is her being upfront about not wanting sex on a first day considered acting shitty to you?
[–]JasonWwolf 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
It isn't. The shitty part is being like "Hey sorry to cut you off, but you're really undesirable." Randomly in a conversation unwarranted.
[–]JennyConcinnity -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I don't think saying this is not going to lead to sex is saying you are undesirable.
Women have many reasons for not sleeping with men. Safety, health, etc.
Don't take it personal. She is setting boundaries so you do not get your hopes up. If you were looking just to get laid then best to drop her because she is not looking to be casual with you.
[–]HanEyeAm -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Exactly.
"Aye sorry to cut you off, but you're mad ugly fam. Iight, continue..."
[–]Caitipoo421 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
It’s the opposite. She probably thinks you’re hot and charming and is letting you know it’s not gonna happen tonight, but doesn’t mean it won’t happen in general. I usually say this when I’m literally thinking about someone as an option because i never really fuck someone right away. But, sounds like the thought crossed their mind.
[–]intensely_human 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Oh my god an honest woman
[–]Caitipoo421 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Weird that my comment got downvoted when I’m giving legitimate advice on how to respond to that situation. Lol I’m confused. 🤔😂. Good luck tho in the future. You got this. Haha
[–]Caitipoo421 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Lmaooo i know we’re all very different & humans are complicated, but i hate how many people force us to “read between the lines” because I’m on the spectrum so i say what i mean & mean what i say. The male driven part of my brain is right there with you liiiiike why tf are you talking about sex rn when we were having a convo about something else???? The woman in me that has quite a big internet circle of women tho understands that maybe she felt that’s where the convo was directing OR like i said it popped up in her mind that she was def thinking about it, but wanted to set boundaries early on. Sometimes i say weird shit like that really early just to make it known so they don’t attempt to coerce me later or make things weird. But, to answer your original question it would make it even hotter if she was saying it because she was attracted to you and you said something along the lines of “I’m not that easy, you will have to work for it” or something sassy like that. Shows you can take a joke, you know you’re a prize, and if she isn’t interested if she’s weird like my friends that like “challenges” that might actually put you in the game. 🤣🤣🤣. Hope that helps a little.
[–]Inked-Erotica 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I’m not gonna lie, a lot of the advice saying to ignore what she’s saying sounds like it’s getting over into the predatory/rapey area. When somebody says no, you should listen.
I agree with the bits saying to not get pissy/upset about it, that quippy comebacks are awesome, and that sometimes ppl do change their mind, but she could also just not be interested in you like that (because, ya know, she explicitly stated that she’s not and in my experience grown women know how to use words). She could just be trying to be honest so you don’t catch feelings and wind up hurt later. Hell, I’ve seen what a huge pain it is for girls with close friends that have feelings but won’t take no for an answer, and I think it’s pretty fair of them to be vocal and straight forward about what they want or don’t want from the get go so they don’t get stuck in a really uncomfortable situation like that.
If you guys are having great conversations, then she probably wants to keep talking with you bc you seem like a really cool person and she wants to be friends. Just because she doesn’t want to have sex with you for whatever reason doesn’t mean you’re any less of a cool, wonderful, valuable person. I know that can be hard to remember, but number of partners or relationship status doesn’t equate to worth. I hope that helps with the not getting down on yourself bit. Best of luck bud
Thanks. Everything you said makes sense, appreciate it
Yes and then we ended up having sex. I think she was saying it more to her self obviously sex was on her mind and wanted to see how I’d react. I just laughed I told her I wasn’t that easy then we started flirting heavier and harder.

[–]bfrog7427 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It's a shit test, more than likely.
[–]coldbrew18 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Maybe something like “I don’t blame you, if I were as beautiful as you I wouldn’t fuck me either!”
It’s a bit of a joke, she’ll either chuckle and let the conversation continue (no sex) or chuckle and playfully argue with you (maybe sex).
[–]north42g 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I always just ask before she has a chance to. Make her laugh, engage in honest straightforward communication and just, “So, … Want to have sex later?” Followed by a “You’re crazy I like you, wanna get married?!”
[–]GanjaToker408 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Everytime a woman has said this to me we have had sex sometime that week. As long as you keep your cool and act like you don't care about sex, the fact that she brought up sex is a good sign as it shows she is thinking about sex with you.
[–]kittybrehbreh 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Be the Rated R guy, say this: "In the words of Ron Jeremy, 'Suck my dick!'"
Or
PG-13 guy: "Ok, no problem. We can play parcheesie instead of discussing ways to find higher feelings of erotic pleasure with each other.
I understand if you are not ready for this just yet.
Let's enjoy ourselves through abstainence!"
G rating:
"I need my mommy to approve of you."
Imo, the sweet spot is between rated R and PG-13. I think the premise of my post here is to just have fun with it. Girls play games and well you relax be yourself and reply in a way that's you!

[–]ectbot 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Hello! You have made the mistake of writing "ect" instead of "etc."
"Ect" is a common misspelling of "etc," an abbreviated form of the Latin phrase "et cetera." Other abbreviated forms are etc., &c., &c, and et cet. The Latin translates as "et" to "and" + "cetera" to "the rest;" a literal translation to "and the rest" is the easiest way to remember how to use the phrase.
