It's just her rationalization. There's a deep set thing in the firmware for them not to just admit they were selfish and did wrong, but that it was caused by somebody else working too much/not working enough/routine/lack of routine/insert excuse like porn or sports or video games or fishing too muchhere.

Brother, take a breath. Feel all the feels and don’t hold back from venting and allowing yourself to grieve. Mine was my best friend as well. 20 years together and I walked in on her banging a friend of ours just over ago. I was broken for months. I’m still broken, but way better. I was lucky enough to find an awesome therapist a few days after. I’m old school and have never spoken to a therapist before. It saved me. I still had plenty of dark days of despair, and even suicidal thoughts. But I would have been way worse had I not found her. Find yourself a therapist immediately. Lean on your family and friends- you are going to need them. The Surviving Infidelity Reddit is a great place for support as well. Like everything else, there will be assholes commenting on it at times- just ignore them.

Take care of yourself. The craziest discovery is finding out how disgustingly common this is. You will get past it. You will heal. And you will be better in the long run.

Lots of good advice here. I left my ex because she got violent twice and the constant barrage of insults she threw at me.

Try your best to always take the high road. Courts and lawyers want to see you prioritize those kids. They don't want to see you focus on your feelings about your ex. Your getting divorce so they already know how you feel about her.

My ex has spent months now trying to get someone to believe her lies about me but both times when have been in court it has gone heavily in my favor. I'll take all the daggers to the back in an effort to protect my kids. Court has definitely seen both of our actions Thats why I have full legal custody and she has to be supervised by another adult to spend time with our kid.

Divorce is always an uphill battle for men. Get the high ground early and don't give an inch.

I remember that stage in my grieving process. I was both crying and raging but only in my car by myself because I never wanted the kids to see my pain. I slipped a couple of times and my 9yr old gave me a hug. I still think of that fondly.

Start exercising however you can. I started taking hour long walks late at night after putting the kids to bed. It can be meditative or therapeutic. Now I'm onto bikram yoga. I feel so good lately, that I can't wait for my paperwork to be finalized and I only have to deal with her when it comes to the kids.

Good luck, it can be a long process but if you focus on yourself, you will come out of it happier than you were.

You are currently in emotional stage 2 of your divorce. It will get better as time moves forward, but it will take a long time. In this stage I immediately got a therapist and it really helped worked through my feelings. The biggest problem is she STILL is fucking you up and you are letting her win. Stop letting her do that, and concentrate on getting through the process and search for inner peace (you will find it).

You will eventually be OK and better for it.

Your rage was implanted and taught to you far before you met your terrible ex-wife. Your ex-wife is merely awakening and hitting it very square away, where you are the most sensitive.

Therapy, talking about it, medication, getting out into the world, healing, feeling the anger, and rage that you’re feeling right now without hurting other people, including yourself. Whenever I encounter the feeling that you’re feeling and the way that you’re communicating them I don’t think that it’s anger I think that it’s trauma. And that ain’t no place to live.
