No. People won't have parents. Men and women will have to get periodically harvested for eggs and sperm. The government will create citizens via birthing pods. Children will be raised in dorm style institutions by robot care takers and a few human overseers.

People will be highly isolated, and more than likely restricted to certain rooms or corridors after their labor shifts have been finished.

Elites will probably purchase and abuse human men and women for the novelty of it. Since playing with robots will be boring.

Fact is, humans need connection and touch. It’s actually one of the things that fuels the desire for sex. Sex is fun so that people will have it and thereby procreate. Humans need touch and connection, and sex is one of the best ways to get it. You don’t get oxytocin from fucking silicone. You do get a dopamine rush from it though, so engaging repeatedly in artificial sex be it viewing porn or using sex dolls/robots ultimately affects brain chemistry in a way it was never meant to be affected.

Because of neuroplasticity, systematically stimulating atypical brain chemistry will change it’s development over a period of time leading to brain damage. We see it already in men who use porn. Reduced grey matter, shrinking of some areas of the brain, altered perceptions of women, lowered empathy and so on.

Our brains were never mean for this level of overstimulation. Men can cry about ‘variety’ and ‘muh biology’ all they like, but 24/7 streamed, hardcore porn never existed in nature and our brains simply can’t handle it. The brain also can’t differentiate between what is on screen and what is in reality. There’s no naturally existing ‘off switch’ for porn. You drink too much, you black out or vomit. You overdose on drugs, you could die. It’s the body’s way of saying stop. Even with gambling, financial ruin is the gatekeeper of addiction. There’s nothing in your brain or bank balance to tell you you’ve had ‘enough’ porn, and the damage isn’t always easy to see. Plenty of people who use it don’t even masturbate to it, or at least not to orgasm, so refractory periods or orgasm aren’t even a limiter for many users.

So if the option for normal human interaction and relationships is inhibited or controlled by the state, who knows where our brain damage will take us? Hopefully to extinction if there’s no alternative. I would never choose a stimulant over a real man and I suspect many women feel the same. If that becomes the only option, many of us would choose to remain asexual. If the brain damaged people are the ones procreating, as a species we would be doomed.

The missing element there is validation, so most people will continue to have relationships and sex as usual. Those who already tend to retreat to porn (almost exclusively men) will retreat further. Men who don’t want platonic relationships with women now won’t want them any more then. Overall effect on mental health will be negative.

Not just anyone will be able to access artificial wombs for personal use, and most men won’t have any more interest in raising kids on their own than they do now. As such, the elite will use them to address the issue of a shrinking slave class/cattle herd, if necessary.

I don't think it has to do with technology and more to do with mythology!

We are far richer than every before in history - due to technology (remember even a tractor is technology).

Yet the myth that work liberates you, that work is a moral good, and that hard work is a sign that one is worthy of respect, are all time high.

Having children is also based on myth rather than technology. From abortion to "the highest honor for a woman is to be a mother" are all myths. We have kids raped in orphanages and churches, starved in the first world and the third world. Yet we do not have a myth that puts those children before birth-giving! Not because you can't love a child like your own, but that's part of the myth.

Segregated bathrooms, segregated games, segregated leisure spaces... none have anything to do with technology by rather mythology.

So it depends.

Though one thing is for sure, stopping the interaction between sexes is just as arbitrary as stopping the interaction between blonds and brunets. (There was this nasty little chap called hitler (and he wasn't by far alone) that thought blonds were superior - his logic was just as stupid as ours when we say men and women have no reason to interact other than sex.)

I think of technology can replicate the sexual experience for men, we would see a sizable portion of young men withdraw from social experiences. This will have a compounding negative effect on men from a statistical perspective because most of the personality traits and social interaction behavior developed by young men to create positive relationships in their business and personal life are the exact traits that eventually lead to healthy romantic relationships in their later 20s and 30s. By removing the need to chase pussy to satisfy thier physical desire, enough men will fall behind the social skills curve to shift the average down.

Now for women, this will likely further reduce the pool of men that they find attractive enough to both sleep with and commit to in a relationship. This will put pressure on women to continue to push the boundaries of their public image to attempt to stand out and be desirable to the fraction of the male population that they want to be with. I can see social media and dating technology shifting to provide services to women who want partners, and younger women amping up their sexual image as competitive forces require. I felt something similar as a single man during the me too movement where some women dressed even more provocative so men who might be nervous about misreading a signal were encouraged approach them. I don't think this was a conscious decision for the women, but something that just happened as the competition for attention was building between technology like Instagram and political environments like the me too movement.

Nothing will change; male/female dynamic in society is already enforced at the state level, rather than organically occurring.

Withholding what constitutes female monopoly - sex, reproductive function - is a right.

Withholding what constitutes male monopoly - provision - is a crime.

Women, constituting the majority of voters, will not allow men to stop interacting with them. And will probably try to ban AWs and VR just for good measure.

"Gender becoming irrelevant" would include women waiving their privileges, which they also will not volunteer to do out of good will.

I'm still looking forward to the future.

In the hypothetical case, it would simply accelerate trends already at work. Robots and porn can't give people love or validation, but these things would hasten the collapse of a society already in an advanced state of disintegration. People are already having less sex and fewer children because they are not optimistic about the future. This would simply give them a faster way to disengage from society.
