I think that there is a lot of confusion on this sub regarding female relationship preferences among men, and even I’m not certain what women prefer, or if women’s relationship preferences are varied. Therefore, I’ve constructed this thought experiment to ask women what their preferred choice would be if they could never find the perfect relationship.

Out of these four choices, which is the most preferable to you?

A) You have a long-term sexual relationship with a handsome, charming, intelligent man who is rich and treats you well. However, this man has other women whom he is also sexually and emotionally involved with and he does not hide this. Otherwise, he is a perfect gentleman to you.

B) You have a long-term sexual relationship with a man who is not attractive to you but who does not repulse you either. This man has very limited earning potential. However, he is very nice to you and treats you well. Most importantly, he is completely monogamous and you never have to worry about him cheating or being attracted to other women besides you.

C) You have loving long-term sexual relationships with other women, but no man ever has a relationship with you for your entire life.

D) None of the above. You stay single your entire life. You can have friends, and you can have emotionally meaningless casual sex with either men or women, but nobody will ever romantically love you or even have FWB sex with you.

I know that this is not a realistic choice, but this is a thought experiment in order to determine the priorities in relationship thinking among women.

If your answer is “all of these are bad”, then you default to choice D, which is basically the “do nothing” choice.
