Bad things happen to men and women. I'm not saying that they don't.

But one thing I've noticed is men being weirdly traumatized for menial, and normal life events. For example:

- I know a guy absolutely devastated because his crush when he was 15 did not like him back, and he was salty about it for years.

- I know a guy still "upset" about things not working out with his girlfriend from 7th grade because she moved schools. He was 21 years old when he complained about this. He was so sad about it it prevented him from dating.

-Guy is 30 and has a hard time dating because of his parents' amicable divorce in middle school.

- I know a guy extremely upset that he went on a date where he didn't connect with the girl. She didn't do anything wrong, just wasn't what he wanted. It upset him for months and he refused to date again for a while.

Meanwhile, women regularly experience heinous abuse, are beaten, SA'd, severely verbally abused, and then get in normal relationships quickly after while not really talking or complaining about it. Honestly, barely even badmouthing the guy sometimes.

It just seems odd that men feel they are the emotionally stronger sex when I learned how to accept rejection and move on by 7th grade (and no, I received no emotional support at all, I learned on my own), and men still struggle to do the same as adults. Women avoid severely emotionally mature men because it doesn't add anything to their lives. Therapy exists. Use it?
