So, before I went to college, I would try to flirt with girls and whatever and it usually ended up as a fail. The one time it didn’t, I got in this horribly toxic relationship, and took me a year to get out.

Anyway, I started college right at the end of that relationship, and I was slightly on the older end of the spectrum, like 24. I was so happy to be single and really had no interest in dating, I wasn’t even trying to flirt with girls, and I got a ridiculous amount of attention.

Now, I’m not an ugly person, so I had that working for me. But I was doing something that girls liked. I was legitimately focused on school, sat in the front of the class and asked a lot of questions, wasn’t mentally prepared to date again, and didn’t have nearly enough game to pick up girls for one night stands.

And for some reason, that worked.

Anyway, the strong correlation is confidence and demeanor. Intelligence is a weak correlation at best. Lots of stupid guys do have the confidence and demeanor to pick up chicks.

The red pill had something right, if you look past the berating and misogyny. A man focusing on himself and truly interested in making himself physically and emotionally better will be more attractive to women.

I think that you need to give your definition of smart here. Social skills can be a part of intelligence for many people. If by intelligent you mean only book smarts then, yeah being good at school doesn't necessarily mean that you will be good with women. And it seems to me like you are sort of dismissing people as dumb just because you don't get their type of intelligence. And I would also argue that you have this trope in your mind: smart=nerdy aspie; if that's your definition of smart, of course smart men don't do good with women in your opinion.

Women are attracted to power and human power is generally expressed physically, socially, financially, intellectually, and spiritually.

Note that intellect is but one category in which power can be expressed.

IME, the more net power a man expresses the more attractive he will be to women generally, but different women are attracted to different combinations of power expression. Women who are primarily attracted to one form of power expression are rare, so if you only display power via one form of expression (say intelllect) you’re going to need to be an Einstein level intellect to have a decently high level of net display of power and you’ll only be attractive to a small set of women.

And the same principle applies to any of the modes of power expression. You can be built like The Rock but if you’re socially awkward, poor, spiritually absent and dumb as a rock that’s only attractive to a relatively small group of women.

Men who are attractive to women display high levels of net power apportioned across those five categories of power display. One’s relative apportionment will determine what’s type of women one attracts, but there is significant advantage to dispersion because women aren’t dumb, they (usually subconsciously) cross check. How powerful can you really be if you’re high intellect but also poor?

If you want to be attractive to women, build your power in a distributed fashion.

I think that although intelligence is very important it comes in a lot of different forms. People say “ugh she picked him but he’s dumbass unlike me, I’m so intelligent because I can recite some abstract theoretical physics.” When in reality the other guy has social intelligence or maybe something else like financial intelligence.

It’s ammoying when men and women say “they’re so dumb why do you date them.” Well maybe she doesn’t know all of shakespeares work or mozarts sonnets but she was intelligent enough to make me happy.

Even if she wasn’t the most intelligent person, excess intelligence isn’t as valuable as people make it out to be as it’s very rarely utilised. You’re comparing apples to oranges. “Intelligence” isn’t some rigid concept. There are multiple forms of intelligence. You seem to be referring to the idea of “book smart” vs “street smart.” These are two sides of the same coin. Just because somebody can’t recite a diagnostic manual by memory or recite random factoids doesn’t mean they aren’t intelligent. They just possess a different type of intelligence.

That being said, women care about social intelligence just as much, if not more so than the book intelligence that you seem to be inversely alluding to here. If the opposite was true, women would be clamoring about all of the geeky guys and autistic incels because they’re “so intelligent,” but that’s not the case. Intelligence of that nature is only attractive up until a certain point. Then it becomes irrelevant to attraction.

I think intelligent people or at least those who socially present that way are victims of the priority structures of their social class, which tends to encourage/incentivize long-term focused behavior, most of which is enforced through bald lies and mischaracterizafions for all but the top echelons (like .5%) of society (the only people for whom these incentives seem to actually be worth a damn)

mate characteristics such as intelligence and easygoing become somewhat less attractive at very elevated levels [above 90th percentile], at least based on preference ratings, for reasons that may be biological and/or psycho‐social in nature.

But I think part of it is priorities. There is only so much a person can focus on. Intelligent people encounter all kinds of incentives to focus on other things, and disincentives to endure the discomfort of swagger (including social discomfort and physical discomfort of developing the corresponding fitness levels)

I recently graduated from medical school which was an environment filled with relatively intelligent people. To put it simply, the attractive single ones were players if they wanted to be. The unattractive ones generally were not players unless they had intentionally developed game/charisma over time. I don’t think I saw any student hook up with someone who was dumb and/or unsuccessful. Almost every student (~80%) in med school was in an LTR/engaged/married to someone else who was successful and likely pretty smart. They get picked off early because they are high value in the context of monogamy. The majority of classmates were risk-averse people with a habit of long-term planning. There was a smaller group of smarter (IMO) students who regularly enjoyed high-risk activities. These were the ballers who could crush class, crush ass, and still get drunk/high 5 nights a week while constantly skipping class to do fun shit. They were simply more capable and this suggests to me that the really smart ones can do whatever they want, but they don’t always want sex. Sometimes they just want fun and money.

Intelligent people have a different swagger. They flex in professional and subtle ways. They are playing a different game then the swagger you are talking about. It attracts different people.

There are different kinds of intelligence. that "game" that you mentioned could be considered a form of emotional intelligence and social intelligence. Both are attributes that you have to consider. These guys with swagger may not be as book smart as someone else, but they have a level on emotional and social intelligence that allows them to attract, court, manipulate and control females. If you are a very sociable guy who seem "not very intelligent", ie intelligence is how long you spent at uni. Then a guy who has a job that requires less time spent in school, but works more, is more sociable and just have more experience with women (called social intelligence), will probably be more attractive than someone who doesnt know how the dating game works.

Geez, all these "smart" people are missing something really basic here. Height is on a normal distribution. IQ is on a normal distribution. Facial attractiveness is on a normal distribution.
EQ / social abilities are on a normal distribution (for the most part). Sure, some of these overlap a bit because these factors interplay with each other but let's set that aside for just a second.

What does all that mean? It means there are 1.6 guys out of every 1,000 who are born in only the top 20% - in terms of genetics - of each of these four categories. That means that there are 998 guys out of 1,000 who are not in the top 20% in at least one but usually most / all of these.

Simply put, why are most men who have swagger "not intelligent"? Because most men are not intelligent. Duh.

My experience is definitely different, but I'm a woman who is mostly attracted to nerds. I'm definitely abnormal in that being humble is extremely important to me..

That being said, when I have hit it off with a really confident player, he's always turned out to be a genius in some way. I've met a few really smart guys (usually engineers) who are also really emotionally intelligent. (One guy breezed through an engineering degree with good grades. Another worked his way up in a tech company incredibly fast.) They can sense quickly if they have a chance with a women and move on quickly if there's no mutual spark. The really smart guys I've dated had the highest body counts.

It’s like that moment when you want to go for a swim but don’t want to experience the icy cold water on your unacclimated skin.

You just do, you don’t think for that second, you just let your lizard brain act.

It’s about setting yourself up for that moment - did you bring the towels, did you wear the right clothing, pick the right location? ...etc

The intelligence should be used in the preparation, not in the act. In the moment, instinct and intuition will always be more efficient than cognition.

Use intelligence to set up an interaction, use it to pull back and control yourself. But in the moment, just do. It takes a very controlled person to turn off his analytical brain.

However, in general, I think attraction from intelligence largely breaks down into strata or leagues, sort of like physical attractiveness or maybe height breaks down.

Intelligent people tend to date and fuck other intelligent people, and less intelligent people tend to fuck less intelligent people.

Intelligent people always have an advantage with people who can recognise its value, less so with people who can’t.

Since the majority of people are below say 120 IQ (lower end of the range someone 130+ can have a solid connection with), someone in the 130+ range is gonna have trouble connecting with a lot of the girls he meets. Whereas someone in the 100-110-ish range will have the greatest amount of people he can immediately connect with. Just how normal distributions work - it’s annoying to be more than two SDs away from the mean, even if it’s in the favourable direction.

I think based on SATs/general knowledge most of the women I’ve seriously dated are around 125-135 IQ, current girl may even be touching 140 (she got a 1570/1600 on the SAT).

I’m probably about 132-135 based on SATs, general interests, general problem solving ability etc, the two (apparently decent) tests I self administered put me in that range also - first one at 132 (all questions right, score limit) and second one was 138 I think. I have a pretty incredible long term memory though, that may not be assessed in IQ tests to a substantial degree.

If I extend that to women I’ve fucked or seriously flirted/hooked up with, it probably would extend down to about 110, with most being around 120.

I don’t really think IQ tests are an amazing metric of intelligence (gets chaotic once you pass a lower threshold of about 120), but they’re a decent indicator so might as well use them.

But anyway, now that I’m finished jacking off in the mirror to my own intellect, I think it’s really good at setting up situations to meet women in and connecting to women via text game, but it absolutely NEEDS to be shut off when meeting up.

Also, verbal intelligence is more effective than visual/spatial intelligence in interactions. Women understand language and are good at it, if you can impress them in a domain that they can assess worth in and have tied to their self esteem, then you’ll have a much better chance than if you explain the workings of a PCB that they can barely even visualise, let alone have enough knowledge/experience to judge your understanding of it.

Really, probably the only part you will seriously benefit from keeping is your humour and fast witty banter. Use all of your imagination on this aspect. Talk about large scale ambitions and aspirations also but always make them relatable to romantic projection of how you two could live on a super yacht if they come to fruition.

I’m not saying that you can’t open up about the other things you find interesting later, but she won’t care about those details on the first date, provide just enough info to make your ambitions credible.

Intelligent people evaluate risk and control impulses, so there is something to what you are saying. That said, intelligent people are also aware of TRP or the principles of it even if they haven't heard of TRP directly simply through lived experience and can apply it accordingly. Many naturals are not that smart and there is a reason the bad guy who gets the girl in movies is traditionally no genius (but looks like Matt Dillon). There is something to what you are saying.

However, it is not the case the dumber the guy is the more he bangs. There is a level at below which lack of impulse control ceases to have appeal. A little bit of excitement is different to a heap of fear, after all. And such partners tend to have beta traits too like jealousy in abundance.
