The guy supposedly didn't press any charges against her and settled with the woman for a small sum of money. She was said to have cried crocodile tears after being arrested and begged him not to press charges, saying it would negatively affect/ruin her career and she'd get fired.

I'm sure the guy was put in an awkward situation and didn't want to ruin someone's life (or so he believed), so I'll reserve my judgement on him. I just hope he didn't go easy on her because of his white-knight-ism and would have decided not to press charges against a man too had the aggressor been a man.

EDIT: I'll just paste the description from the original video so you don't have to rely on my shoddy recap;

This Uber driver deserves a bonus from the company (and a medal for having self-restraint while dealing with this animal). I know everyone has their bad days, or drunk moments, but this was over the top (i thought I knew what psycho was until i experienced this).

[Sunday night in Miami, Fl (Mary Brickell Village)] We were on the phone with this uber driver while he pulled up to our location. Out of nowhere the girl in the video gets in the backseat of his car and won't get out. We told the driver it was ok, to just cancel our ride, but he did not want to take her anywhere so he kept telling her to get out.

Eventually the driver gets out and says he's calling the cops to get her out of the car. After a couple of minutes of the driver pretending to talk to the cops (im assuming he was pretending because they never showed up at first), the girl decides to reach into the front seat, grab his keys, and start walking away with his keys in her hands.... That's where the video starts...

The police finally showed up after this video ends. The girl was in a taxi cab about to leave when the showed up and they had to stand in front of the taxi and tell him to stop. The girl eventually got up from the area the cops had told her to sit and wait, and tried to walk away from the scene.

Once in handcuffs, she then tried kicking some of the police officers on the scene. It was only when they put her in the police car that she started crying, apologizing, and claiming that she would lose her medical license (she claimed to be a neurologist) if she got arrested.

The Uber driver was too good of a person and decided to take a cash settlement instead of pressing charges. In his words, "...she was crying (and) said (she) was sorry for everything." I don't want to disclose the amount the driver was paid, but can say he could only use the money to pay his cellphone bill and maybeee his cable bill.

It's safe to safe this girl got off easy.

This privilege really plays out in domestic situations. Even when it is known that it is the woman who was abusive and aggressive, she will not be punished. Further, there is never video, so society assumes that any violence is caused by the man, despite research showing the prevalence of female domestic violence. There are lots of violent, abusive women and they know they are exempt from the law.

Fun story: I was at a local bar with a friend drinking a few brews one weekend. A woman I had slept with (one night stand, she didnt appreciate it) walked in and seen us, and proceeded to tell the bartender that her business was more valuable, we were scum, if we didnt leave there would be problems, blah blah blah. So we are setting at a table minding our own business when a beer bottle comes from across the bar and exploded right on the table, exploding onto my buddy, cutting his hands to shit. She starts laughing and being a tool but there was no bouncer or anyone to remove her from the bar. Bartender says she is calling the police, I asked her not to, told her it was fine and the bartender bought us a round and things calmed back down. I text my sister (quite big, almost manly in stature) and told her what happened but she never text me back, so whatever i figure. We go back to drinking for about an hour and then I notice my sister walk in the back door first, followed by two other women. From across the bar she hollers, "who?" Thats when shit went down. My buddy sees my sister holler, he shouts and points at the woman who did it and my sister never said another word. She snatches the beer bottle out of this womans hand, smashes it on the top of her head and then pulls her by her hair to the ground, gets on top of her and just fucking crushes this chicks face. The cops were never called. I noticed my sister hitting her with hammer fists, when she was done I asked her were she learned to hammer fist. She said she didnt and had to because she thought the first punch broke her knuckles. To this day, I've never been in as cool of a fight as my sister.
