Sex Work Twitter makes me feel LESS compassion towards voluntary sex workers 🙄

For those of you who aren't aware, FDS is currently in the midst of a 3-day feud with sex work Twitter.

Why? Because we posted a thread saying "how sex workers can support civilian women" suggesting that these "strong and empowered" sex workers should hold themselves accountable for the content they create, including not making content that normalizes pedophilia, incest, racism, misogyny, abuse, etc. Link

Naturally, Sex Work Twitter flipped the fuck out.

Seeing these women viciously defend pedophiles, cheaters, and other predatory abusive men... yikes.

It made me realize that for all their moral grandstanding, the only thing they care about is making money and that they don't give a fuck about the harm they cause other women (such as the wives of Johns- some of these SWs were crowing with pride that half their clients are married men).

Before, I thought that voluntary sex workers were just misguided and brainwashed. But now I realize that many of them are selfish privileged white women at best, and at worst some are just straight up malicious.

It's ironic, because sex work twitter is alllll about "fighting the stigma against sex workers" and then they have the audacity to behave in an appalling manner.

Until today, I used to feel compassion for them but now I realize... they know exactly what they're doing, they just don't care about anything but themselves. They're also extremely emotionally manipulative.

If sex work is really just like any other job (as they like to claim) then that means it deserves to be scrutinized, just like any other industry. If you're a strong empowered woman making your own choices then that means you are responsible for the content you create.

As always, FDS draws a line between voluntary sex workers and women who were forced into the industry due to poverty, coercion, violence, deception, etc. Women girls who were sold into sexual slavery by their parents, or who were kidnapped, or even just forced into sex work due to drug addiction or poverty are NOT in the same class as these voluntary sex workers. The latter like to pretend like they're the former for sympathy points and to avoid accountability.

Meanwhile, they have the audacity to demand that other women should support them, while simultaneously financially profiting off of male depravity and proudly fucking other women's husbands. Wow. No thanks.
