They will have a minimal effect, people that would actually buy those were never valuable on the dating market in the first place. AI chat bots exist now but most people do not see them as a viable replacement for actual friends except those who were never making friends

Well, take a look at countries where prostitution is legal, disturbing cheap and can be accessed nearly everywhere, like.. in Germany.

Even there you'll find people dating. Prostitution is at best just masturbation with a different hand. You can buy nearly any experience from a sex worker and some people actually do buy their girlfriend experience over and over again instead of dating. So if you buy a sex robot you will know this is fake and not a relationship. And if you're kind of incelish you will still feel inferior when you are only able to hook up with you sexbot.

It will be a dream come true for women because finally, they'll be able only to share the sexual alphas and all the unattractive orbiters won't ever ask them for sex. A companion question to this inquiry might be will it make it even harder on some guys because why will the average woman even bother with real dudes when you've got a "teddy flood" charging in the hall closet while your at work. It will asymmetrically benefit men. Women will not use these products for the same reason that they already don't pay for male escorts, strippers, OF, sugar babies, cam models.

Both sexes will increasingly not have sex with each other but men will have artificial companions and women won't. I suspect most women will become like the "left over women" in China.

On the upside most women seem to take being alone better than men because they have emotional outlets with their female friends. They also seem to be content with the idea of having no partner rather that settling.

I think there are a lot of women and men who would not date at all after this. People would make contracts to sire or bear offspring; male embryos would be selectively aborted, because contracting for a uterus would be so much of a greater expense in a child’s future life. Alternatively, there would be a cratering of reproductive output and there would be strong selective pressure towards people who wanted to form partnerships with real people rather than robots.

People will be more alone than ever.

But they won't be "better" than humans because we all know deep down real validation > the rest.

People might understand you'd go this way, especially if you're less fortunate genetically, but both sexes perceive not being able to have a relationship with a human as something that puts you on the bottom of the totem pole.

Though I expect this will make new generations less and less able to compromise and have poorer social skills, people will in the end seek humans. Even if those are those who can afford it.

I think the next big porn revolution will be from generative AI. There's no way we'll have realistic, manufacturable sex robots affordable to the middle class anytime soon. That would probably take a TON of materials and be very wasteful.

The generative-porn AI won't generate new people, pornstars can just get digitized and they'd make money whenever users select/use their digitized model. The generative AI would figure out your deepest darkest desires and generate realistic scenes. The generative AI could be constrained to avoid or "relax" unrealistic/unhealthy standards/fetishes to make sure you don't get addicted to being snu snu'd by 6'7" muscular Amazon women or whatever.

Women really overestimate their value, thinking that only losers will rely on sex robots, so things won't change.

If regular sex with prostitutes were affordable, many men would have an easy time dealing with women... the same way many women are getting an easy time dealing with men, as many things women used to rely exclusively on men are now replaceable.

Today, women look for men mostly for companionship. They don't have tolerate men's bullshit because of money, protection, status, whatever... but men don't have the same option. They still rely on women for a regular sex life, so they tolerate tons of bullshit.

Nothing is perfect, but it will make things a lot better to start. It could make things much worse in the other direction though.

Most of the issues in the dating world today are a combo of too many men and lack of legal, socially tolerated prostitution. Both are gradually changing already, but sex bots will push it over the edge. Women are gonna lose some of the edge they've had in the past 100 years, maybe quite quickly.

Honestly, when sex robots comes out, if they can be programmed to wash dishes and do laundry, all the women will probably end up in relationships with them. They're going to be great hubbies. Can we just admit it, that fuck boys or not, you need to be a special type of simp if you're into 70 percents of the 18 - 25 females out there? I mean just look around! Now, simps and committed males who actually dig this 70 percents of young women are usually not the ones who're into sex bots, as they still prefer the tradition methods and actually let their girls walk all over them and are willing to become their girls' maids. But one thing I do wanna add: I do believe all of these...sex bots, radical feminism and other form of uber social liberalism along with the already existing strict parenting and upbringing that many middle-class people have, means that middle-class is going to die, no matter how everyone goes about it. The concept of post-WW2 middle-class is meant to last as long as it's deemed useful geopolitically by the elites, and as both Russia and China have come up with their own brands of middle-class and US' allies in East Asia are all known for having an abundant existing middle-class, Western middle-class are proven to be rather useless. The elites are going to do everything they can to speed up the death of Western middle-class while using Russia and China as red herrings and allow controlled oppositions such as the current trends of populism...all of those are meant to prevent uprising and to ensure the elites keeping their pockets lined up.

I think the majority of men will still want a real woman but there will always be those datingly challenged men who will opt out and go for sex robots.

I don't think the dating game will be too effected by it as sex robots will only be for a minority.

The dating scene will in turn be smaller as a lot of guys have walked away, leaving only the higher tier guys in terms of attractiveness.

I’m a massive failure when it comes to dating. I’m practically a virgin at 40 and ended up buying a sex doll as a substitute for a girlfriend. Even though she can’t talk it’s comforting to have someone to hug etc. it’s my only source for human touch or hugs.

Ive ended up here after doing years of therapy, but some things can’t be fixed. The threshold to be functional in a relationship is simply too high. I do get matches and dates nowadays but I have nothing in common with the women I meet. We can’t connect, as our life experiences are completely different.

Anyway, people won't feel validated by a robot and validation is one of the reasons people want a partner (not the main reason, just one). With a really good and advanced AI it might even be a better partner than a human but there still would be limitations like infertility, though that might be eventually solved with artificial wombs I guess.

Westworld seemed like actresses were chosen to be deliberately average; Angela Sarafyan and Talulah Riley were the only two who registered for me as impressive (Angela mostly for her eyes). Now if there were a bunch of sex robots on the apps and they only told you they were a sex robot after you got laid… I’d say women would actually have a more difficult time. Now they face steep competition from some number of sex robots.
