Never heard of it being a “bad” thing. Models/fashion types are usually taller than average. Executives, doctors usually taller than average.

Guys are constantly beaten over the head with height requirements so lots of them will figure a taller woman must want a really tall guy. So maybe guys figure that if you are 6’ then you would never date a 5’10 guy?

Plenty of people get used for sex regardless of height. So that’s irrelevant. Nowhere have I heard or experienced that women under 5’7” are guaranteed a relationship on height alone. However, I have known plenty of women who remain in relationships with asshole guys solely because he’s 6’2”+ and “cute”.

Why do you want to “appear normal” ? What do you want in a man? What are you attracted to? Do you care if your partner is 5’7” or shorter? If you don’t care, it’s on you to make a shortie feel like he can approach you, since statuesque women usually want an even taller man.

But to answer your question. Yes. Some men will care. Those men likely want a shorter woman for the same reason women want a taller man. To feel powerful and protective over their partner.

As a woman who has been 5 11 since 6th grade, here's my opinion:

The problem isn't height. The problem is insecurity for alot of tall women.

You're insecure with yourself so you out limitations on yourself.

I hate when I see tall women who don't want to own their height and want to act cutesy like average or short women do.

You have to own your statuesque-ness.

You couldn't pay me to be average height. It's boring. Being tall is powerful AF. It instantly puts people off and you're instantly th center of attention no matter where you go. Be 5' 4" for what?

If anything, being tall disqualifies men with low confidence. I can't stand a man who cares what other people think of him. And is so self conscious he allows other peopels opinions on who he dates to dictate who he chooses.

Alot of men are like that. Just like alot of women are.

The Truth is alot of tall women are uncomfortable with being taller. Which is a you problem. And a lot of weak men are uncomfortable with it too. Which is a them problem.

But I actually don't prefer tall men. I think height has a limit. 6 foot 3 is that limit. After that it just looks bad. Basketball players look gangly AF. It draws the eye, but it's unattractive. It's TOO fucking tall.

So I actually prefer men to be 5 foot 9 to 6 foot.

I actually think the perfect height for men (proportionally) is 5' 6 to 5' 8 because they carry muscle way better than taller men.

So stop giving a fuck what other people think. Ignore men who care if you're tall. And only give the time of day to the ones who can demonstrate publicly that they don't care.

I actually love the message of this film, IF it telegraphed openly that this kind of stuff only bothers school kids.

Due to natural m/f height difference, and me being a couple inches above average for my area, I have never met a taller woman of suitable age who would also be single to ever try to date her, and knew only maybe two couples where a woman was taller than a man. Both were sweet and loving to each other to the point that it occasionally was uncomfortable to observe.

Knew exactly zero men who told they had any problem with dating or starting a family with a taller woman.

I have definitely had guys choose not to date me because of my height (5'9"). I have killer legs though, a thin frame, attractive face and green eyes, so I figure if height is the thing stopping them despite the other boxes I check off, that's a them problem. There's always another guy.

I’m 5’8. Anywhere between 5’9 to 6 feet depending on heels I’m wearing. I’ve never had this issue in my life. I also have a 5’10 friend, no issue. And one of my best friends is a 6 foot tall Hawaiian with an insane figure (think Victoria secret model with a bigger ass), she was gorgeous and men FLOCKED to her. I’ve never seen this before

I don't care about female height, and I don't discriminate one way or the other. Then again I've never actually met a woman IRL who was taller than me. I've dated women as short as 5'1", and as tall as 5'11". I literally don't care. I have many other things I look for in women I find more important.

That being said, if you think you being tall means you are entitled to filtering out 50% of the male population, that is likely the source of your problems. You being tall isn't necessarily a negative or positive, but it is a negative if you think being tall entitles you to a tall partner.

No guy would turn down a hot girl because she's tall. Guys might not invest in her because they are painfully aware that women almost ubiquity do not date shorter men and will dump him the first time someone taller than she is comes along, but you have only women to blame for that.

Personally I have a hard cut off at 5’4” and won’t date below it. There’s a simple reason, the parts don’t line up, making it pointless for any intimate activity.

M sure there are lots of guys that like taller women. The problem is taller women rarely want shorter men except out of desperation.

It is what it is. There’s ways to mitigate that when you’re taller and a woman, but since most of them are sexual, they rarely take that option.

I've liked a few taller women but they never liked a 5'8" guy like me. I haven't had an issue attracting women slightly shorter than me, though. Tall women seem to like men at least as tall as them, based upon what I've seen. So if they're picky like that then, yeah, it will be difficult for them to find men to date, especially as many taller guys like much shorter women.

I’m a shorter man and have dated women shorter than me as well as taller than me. Her height doesn’t really make a difference other than whether I have to look up or down to kiss her.

The initial filter is whether I find her attractive, and whether there are any dealbreakers. My dealbreakers are age and single mothers. Other men may value other things. But we all value attractiveness.

I regularly right swipe on women taller than me if they’re attractive and don’t have any dealbreakers. If they specify any height cutoff (even if I meet it), I usually left swipe because broadcasting that just rubs me the wrong way. My match rate for taller women is very low. I don’t beat myself up over it.

I think the single most important variable in attractiveness is just not being fat. I’m obviously biased, but that is how I behave, and I doubt that I am unique in what I find attractive.

Well, this is going to be one of the most shallow comments I ever put on reddit... but.

Tall women = best women.

Longer legs/arms make for more elegant lines in ballroom. Usually an easier time with traveling dances like waltz.

Dresses look/flow better (though finding ones long enough can be a challenge.) Short girls are mostly stuck with empire waists to get a similar effect.

Eye-catching presence in a crowd.

From a practical, romantic standpoint, if you keep it within at least 5 cm (~ 2 in.,) everything lines up well. You catch and look into each other's eyes more often. Kissing a woman that is about that much taller is surprisingly convenient and effortless (I won't explain the mechanics of why that is, but... trust me. It works for both parties.)

Short/Average girls are okay, too... But, all else being equal? I'd choose taller-than-me every time. But because most women hold out for that tall drink of water to make them feel smol, it's slightly less likely to happen for me. *shrugs*

In general men don’t care about a women’s height. The only reason guys even care about height is because women typically do. Tall girls can be supermodels, short girls are cute and petite, tall guys are seen as extremely attractive, and short guys are, uh, just there.

Imo tall girl shorter guy is an issue women are more likely to have than men. You always hear "he must be taller than me" from women. Some men may be insecure with height but I've never seen it at the same rate as women who simply see shorter men as not good enough.

Tall women are like rich women. They want men who are taller/richer while those men are happy dating a woman who's much shorter/poorer. Being tall ad a girl sucks but it's because you find a smaller subset of men attractive enough compared to your average height girl.

Honestly it's not ideal, but it's not the worst. The worst thing a woman can be is unattractive, followed by having a shit personality. Men care more about whether you're pretty, pleasant, and a good person. You may not attract the men YOU want, but if you're not among the top tier of women then you have to accept that men below the top tier are for you. Doesnt mean you need to settle for loser guys though. In short, being a tall woman does lose you a couple points, but it's far from being a losing hand.

In my experience the taller a woman is the more likely she is to think I am too short even though if I am just slightly below 6'. I do prefer taller than average women but they definitely have higher height requirements.

The only guys who might lose interest are short guys and women don't want them anyways so it's no loss.

Idk about your experience but I know a few men care (they tend to be more traditional or dominant men), but from my experience the majority don't care and a lot actually find tall women very attractive and would love to show them off, like "this here is my tall women, not yours, mine, and I love her. My aunt and her two daughters (my cousins) are all tall, with each of them being at least 5 ft 9. None of them had any problems with dating, despite being just as tall as the average man, although they had a few things going for them.

All of them are fairly attractive, not drop dead out of this world gorgeous, but they're all at least a bit above average looking. Secondly, I think guys tend to be more open minded when it comes to height, so going for a tall woman isn't as big of a deal.

Heres my experience. Im asian and finding an extremely tall women here is very rare. Even celebs arent very tall irl. So in tinder Ive found that women have strong detest for short men,,even when they arent very tall themselves. I swear this with my years of experience. On avg the the handsome fuckable dude=tall,muscular. We are feeded this info right from birth. We see height getting praised etc etc.

Now if we came across a taller women we often assume she will not find us sexy and im telling you its true 99% of time. Shorter men are mocked by women ,not in face maybe.

And I think theres a lot of biological points here,, women are attracted to power. Power comes from bigger. Bigger height,bigger muscles, bigger dick etc etc. Hence I highly doubt on avg a woman will see a short small men as sexually arousing as a bigger one.

So the ultimate question is what do you think about shorter men,becuase ultimate choosers are women. If you choose a short one you will get one easily. For ex I am strongly sexually attracted to taller,muscular women and I dont think I m alone. As for relationship,, it depends solely on one's behaviour,character and not on height,, its women who sees height etc for relationships ime. I'm almost 5'7" and my girlfriend is 6'2" and I'm in heaven every single day. She's not afraid to wear her big goth boots that make her almost a foot taller than me either, and she knows she's looking like a whole goth goddess.

There's a lot of guys out there who would kill to have a taller girlfriend. Some guys are insecure and are turned off by the idea of a taller girl. Overall, it's really about preferences. Similarly to how a lot of women prefer to be the shorter one in a relationship, I prefer to be the shorter one in the relationship. I even feel uncomfortable dating a woman my height or shorter. Luckily, my girlfriend actually enjoys being the taller one in the relationship, so we're just very, very compatible that way!

If you prefer a taller partner when you're already tall, that is completely fine. If you prefer someone shorter or the same height, that is equally completely fine. Just gotta find the right match!

I am about 4" taller than the average for women in the US, and usually appear closer to 6' due to the chonky boots and heels I wear.

I will say that some men shorter than I am have rejected me (even though otherwise I was physically their type and personality-wise) because they were too insecure that I was (or would regularly appear) to be taller than them.

I would say that there are still plenty of people of any height who are attracted to me and that my height has not been as much of a deterrent to men and women so much as my gothish/goth-adjacent aesthetic or my lack of desire to regularly go hiking. :)

It's not bad at all. In almost every case I've seen it's the tall woman with the hangup about it. Worried shell make the man feel weird.

Personally I don't care about height specifically but if you're a woman taller than me you're fucking rare. As such I've only met a few that were as tall or taller that were also still slender, which I like.

Those ones I had a bit of a crush on. Despite generally really liking rather petite women.
