The argument is that women in general do not want "good men". Whats being contested is what "good entails". Lots of people are dishonest. Currently there are TWO such threads where people are discussing this. In both threads it's more or less the case been shown that what people (women) think are "good" or "nice" or "kind", is really just a mildly rude person who is comfortable in a somewhat negative social atmosphere rife with criticism, strong opinions and judgement, assertive personality, interesting and seldom kind when the situation fits. This more or less fits you into the asshole or passive aggressive type of person. If not being "nice" gets your perceived as a passive and docile individual. In BOTH THREADS such people were identified as boring, probably push overs, etc.

These aren't self proclaimed "bad girls", these aren't women who express having BPD or really toxic attitudes, these are "normal" people simply expressing that genuinely being nice with no snark to you is seen as suspiciously weak. To be honest this is probably the most damning thing in regards to normal behavior or expectations from women. It's incredibly exhausting to act like this all the time and as guys get older they tend to want to deal with less and less opinions/arguments. I don't think a character judgement needs to be made here, I'm simply going to chalk this up to a lot of young women in particular being too invested into expressing an opinion and caring of the opinion/perception of others. The consistency with passiveness in the modern day with weakness is really just alarming and uncalled for in most situations.

This is extremely universal. You can be cis, trans, man, woman, non-binary, doesn’t matter. A victim complex looks the same.

Years or decades from now when the social discourse changes and the atmosphere shifts I can guarantee you the era of "victimhood" will largely be ascribed to women, niche groups (LTGBQIA+) and minorities at large. It is what it is, you see it in movies you see it in shows and many other forms of media. "Men" or the "patriarchy" are the open or silent oppressor's and all the mentioned groups are fighting a never ending perilous struggle for acceptance, respect, etc. It's very disingenuous to lump men into this category in the context of gendered dynamics when almost ubiquitously men are seen as those who are in a position of power and privilege.

I think that 'privilege' as a term is toxic. The way it's used in discourse is a way of discounting or invalidating whoever has the 'privilege' as a way of levelling the playing field. I don't deny that privilege exists in certain times and in certain places (e.g. I'm fully aware of 'white privilege' when I'm being pulled over by the police for example). But using it as a weapon to deny people's experiences is just shitty.

These different in gendered behavior only is observed in extremely cases. Like how men are more willing to commit violence than women, but most people aren’t committing violence. Women generally more social and being with socializing than men, but most people aren’t socially inept. But that's not the definition. Everyone wants the best. Difference is a man's station doesn't effect what he wants. His position relative to her isn't relevant to his desire. Whether he's an olympic athlete or a fat office guy he still wants the skinny model just as much, and is still just as likely to settle for lesser women if he can't get her. The olympic guy is just less likely to run into that issue.

Not so for women. The more successful she is the higher status she expects her men to be, the taller she is the taller she expects her men to be, etc. And she's liable to just stay single if these heightened standards aren't met.

They have lower standards regardless of available mating opportunities, place a much higher emphasis on morality-based traits compared to women, and their preferences are more rigid, which means they're more likely to be set internally rather than by the environment unlike women's preferences. This is an adaptation that occurs to ensure copulation success since women are hyper-selective, and they will only date men of equal status or higher as a result. This is why they will literally remain single before mating with someone they perceive who is below them. Men do not do this.
