I’ll elaborate on the title.

I am part of the FIRE (financial independence retire early) community, that’s where you aggressively invest in income-producing assets and quit your wage job early (aka ahead of age 65).

Let’s say you meet a guy like this. He is 33 and unemployed, but he supports himself using this stock of income-producing assets. He spends the equivalent of a $150k a year salary. His spending cannot go up, so his lifestyle is “fixed.” He does chill stuff all day, goes grocery shopping, plays games, works out, hangs with friends, etc. He’s always available to hang out with you because he’s unemployed.

Two main questions, would you date someone like this, and would you keep plugging away at your job/career if you had a partner who was not doing so?

I’ll add a caveat for the sake of the scenario, if you get married and then divorced, he keeps his income-producing assets because they were premarital (I know it doesn’t work like this in every state but I want to keep the scenario straightforward).
