I think it's a good thing to get men to face rejection more so that we can improve dating as a whole. The vast majority of women, when asked, prefer to meet in real life, and not on apps.

Of course a woman thinks this, she isn't the one that has to do the approaching. Women always want men to change their behavior to suit the wants of women, but will never consider doing the same thing for men (unless they are Chad).

This literally makes no sense. So dudes go to these meetups every so often and...do what exactly?

And no, rejection isn't "hot" it's just some marketing gimmick. As a guy who's been approached by women, it might be flattering when someone compliments you, or expresses interest, but rejecting them isn't "hot" and neither is the act of them approaching you if you aren't really into them.

Women aren't often more attracted to a man because he's nice, but men are more attracted to a woman because she's nice. Based on that, would you agree that girls should be raised to be nice to men when they grow up, but that men should be raised to avoid niceness as far as possible? Wouldn't this make everyone happier and hornier? This is (semi-)facetious, to be sure.

By the way, I absolutely do care about a woman being courageous. For a very important event of hers last year, my wife wore a loose floral minidress with flats. I loved seeing her in the outfit she chose. I thought she looked so enchantingly feminine and I just couldn't take my eyes off her. Even though it conveyed a soft and sweet femininity rather than overt sex appeal (in contrast with a more overtly daring outfit she was considering that included heels and a tight, curve-hugging miniskirt), I nevertheless found her extremely sexy in that dress, in part because I know that she has always been shy about wearing outfits that show her legs, so I knew how much courage it took her to get up the confidence to wear it. When she gave her speech, she commanded the room, combining authority and femininity in a way that made me fall in love with her all over again.

P.S.: If rejection is so hot, why don't you put yourself in a position to get rejected so that you have a new experience to flick your bean to?

Women need to be better at giving out IOI’s if they want to be approached. They can’t expect most men to want to risk embarrassment since so many women these days have expressed their desire to never be approached at all.

Of course, this doesn’t solve the problem of men being suspicious of women pretending to be interested just to film a man’s embarrassing rejection. But filming without consent will probably be illegal soon now that men are filming women with their smart glasses.

I think that is stupid. The problem isn't men not approaching. It is less available free or cheap social areas to go as single people to mingle with each other. In places meant to socialize you know? Where buying alcohol or drinks isn't a must and the point is to be out and social. And not clubbing

Because trust me. Women don't wanna be approached by a stranger going out about on her daily routine. But we do enjoy being approached in places we go to socialize

There is some logic. The men i know who get rejected most often also get laid the most often.

It's possible that many guys could benefit from exposure to reduce rejection sensitivity. However, if you are a really sensitive person or socially awkward by nature this might be a very bad idea.

The idea that it's hotter is just stupid marketing shit, i don't think that's going to sell like they hope.

This is based, and honestly, I’ve scored some pretty unexpected shots by being graceful and chill about rejection, like rejection isn’t even absolute, I’ve had women change their minds, or maybe they were just testing me haha, nonetheless, it’s all about having fun, creating safe environments for both parties and sharing cool moments, dating shouldn’t be so stressful or “optimized” just go out there and shoot the shit with pretty girls

Rejection is a natural experience in life, every animal experiences it to an extent. Human relationships allow for more complex forms of rejection. Instead of the traditional rejection to mate that other animals experience in mating season, humans can be rejected participation in a platonic event, rejection a position in a job, fail a test and be rejected from a university, etc.

Modern human life is mostly a social skills game people choose to play to reduce the amount of group infighting and the likelihood of being ostracised from a tribe and being left to die.

Rejection allows us to learn what we did wrong in a situation and learn what we could do to improve ourselves when the next opportunity arrives. For relationships, it mostly comes down to physical attraction which you can’t control without breaking the law.

The only value online dating apps have is convenience; you can swipe when you have a few minutes of downtime or the weather is sub-zero temperatures and you're snowed in. I don’t approach American women anymore, I’m waiting until I relocate to Thailand— bc the people over there are better humans in general. American women require a lot of work, if you’re not willing to manipulate an abuse them bc they usually lack self respect and want to be treated that way, while also not being worth the effort they require because they tend to be horrible people in general. Egotistical, entitled, hostile, worthless, prejudiced, not very bright, etc.

It's not that rejection is hotter. It's that the apps allow men to "approach" with absolutely zero intention. Blind swiping makes the apps miserable for women because far too many men are running optimization plays and they don't even bother to read the three sentences on a bio.

I say this as a woman who absolutely does not like getting approached in public and would much rather meet someone on the app. The problem is that it's just far too difficult to figure out who actually looked at my profile and was curious to get to know me and who was just spamming women with likes. And getting into a relationship with a man who simply likes the way I look and wants any woman who will have him is a recipe for misery.

The sheer number of likes I receive on the apps is detached from reality and it doesn't make me feel good - it simply makes it more challenging for me to meet someone I want to date.

So yeah, women are looking for men to put a little bit more effort into the initial approach when dating. Whether that is in person or on the apps.
